For the OP; if one day, if its confirmed that majority of the LFS racers has got a wheel with clutch pedal feature than this idea works as a opportunity or enrichment of the content or what ever you call it.
Until that day, disabling the auto-clutch is more or less an elitist approach IMO.
However, it can be done on server side for make those "no auto-clutch" ppl happy.
@Nighthawk; Since you are in engineering business you should have known better. There could be some obstacles on the road but keep going, do the right thing, try to help others without paying attention to negative ppl.
Keep posting, you might help ones that need it.
@Senninha25; IMHO, if you can put at your first post a list of stuff you tried to fix your problem ppl might have check and offer different solutions.
@Senninha25; IMO, your problem is maybe related with loose power/data connections of the devices.
Most probably, you already did check those connections but sometimes wide data transfer cables of the HDs and CDRs are easily broken and there is no easy way to understand whether the cable is ok or not visually. Its better to replace those cables with new/tested one, especially HD data cable.
Recheck all the peripherals, cards and ram slots are ok (included CPU). Ensure they are dirt free, remove-clean the contacts with alcohol-reinstall if you are not sure. Overheating is also caused instant freezes as you may know. But you said you already cleaned the fans and heatsinks.
If you have more than one HDD, TV card, USB devices etc. remove them during troubleshooting. Sometimes a bad CDR or sound card may cause freeze.
Good Luck.
Hi, I assume you want to race, so definitely you will need a wheel to do it.
Besides of the wheel you think to buy, I suggest you to search on Ebay or similar sites, you will see too many wheels better than Genius wheel.
I think Genius has 180 degree turn, at least you can buy Momo or better, Driving Force Pro if you can afford.
LFS is yet far from being "perfect" in general IMO, but its one of the best at its class.
In LFS, there are few things maybe considered as perfect, one of them is track surfaces. Other is maybe tyre qualities.
IRL, many things affects the grip such as road condition; surface temp, dust, water, oil or quality of the tarmac etc.
Also rubber itself always same.
Although, LFS is on good way of development. I am absolutely sure that Devs taking all of stuff like that in consideration.
But as anyone who is spend some time around here can easily understand that this development process is not easy one.
There is new generation around, they form their own characteristics and I am pretty sure, in the future they will miss these days.
Maybe they will say at 2014 or so "...good old days, I signed up at 2008 mate!".
Circulation continues, only difference is perception points and tastes.
@santiagobahia, I dont know how much time you did found to test the S2 enviroment at your friend's PC,
but one thing I am sure you dont know what you are talking about by saying "I am bored".
Get yourself a licence and see what I mean.
You wont regret.
Its a shame that they did managed to stay on track (and ruined too many ppl's races) till the end of the race. Since the quick spotting of those kind of drivers is a problem, (as a short term solution) than bans must be long enough to show them this is not acceptable behavior.
There must be some way to get rid of these kind of users.
Ppl really need to understand that S2 licence gives them nothing but a "chance" to drive with other ppl. It should not be considered as a "right".
And responsible ones must act accordingly. This kind of behavior, as evidence shows clearly, must finalized with licence cancellation. Than may be ppl learn their lessons by buying second licence (if their intention is racing). IMO, putting necessary warnings in the licence agreement can help to improve LFS on-line environment racing quality in general meaning.
If brake balance is set "properly", engine braking could help in some way.
On this point, threshold values of the braking power and bias are important.
Engine acts as a damper while shifting down.
I use it both in RL and LFS. Its depends to ppl, some may not use it at all.
For the OP; IMHO, (as previously pointed out by few ppl) on XFG, HT cant help make your lap times better since its FWD.
LR server is good enough for those who looking for a "Ctra-like" server.
Ario thingy works like another competition tool but not useful if you are not racing regularly at those servers, thus some may find it annoying.
Its happened two times to me fat-oil.
At least at your ss, the track can be seen as a "road". I was not able to determine where the road starts and where it ends.
Its like all dds files stick around randomly.
Both happened after sending the LFS to background and browsing the web for a while (approx. one hour or so).
After that, I restart the LFS and everything was ok.
