1. Keep the wheel (because you never know).
2. Watch World Superbikes (especially if you like watching Aussies called Troy tear it up) & supermotards (they both absolutely rule). Also check out what domestic roadbike comps are going on in the States too. Personally I find the Australian Supersport & Superbike classes really competitive and great to watch. Those comps spawned guys like Vermuelen, Stoner, Doohan, Corser, Bayliss, Gardner etc. You see a lot of talent out on track and some great racing. I'd think the US would have some good domestic bike comps going on when you think of guys like Rainey, Schwanz, Hayden, Edwards, Roberts etc...
2A. I have no idea about motoX comps
3. LFS account - I dunno. Sell it to someone who won't mind using your username Either that or just hang onto it (see "1" ).
The market research that advertising agencies do actually shows them that most people are, in fact, cripplingly stupid and easliy-led (source: a good friend who just finished his doctorate in marketing). That's why most ads look as though they're targeted at idiots - it's because they are. There are always exceptions, of course, like those clever ads that end up on those "World's Cleverest Ads" shows (but it boggles my mind who would sit and watch a wholse show of commercials interrupted every 7 minutes by more commercials). Generally though, advertisers purposely aim low on the IQ scale to ensure the maximum possible amount of people understand their core message of "you need this thing, buy it now or your life will continue to suck". If you feel like your intelligence is insulted by advertising then you should take that as a positive
I'd prefer 15 original threads to 150 threads with 100 of them being repeats. If I need to search for something (a foreign concept to some, I know) I like to be able to find what I want without having to wade through dozens of threads on the same damn topic. This is a racing game after all - if someone has an idea that has to do with cars, tracks or modding, chances are someone's thought of it already (hence the Improvement Suggestions Log thread, which was started precisely to prevent multiple threads on the same topic).
Valiant was a sort of sister brand of Chrysler over here in the 70s, like Mercury was to Ford in the 60s (iirc). I'd love an old Aussie Charger though and that one looks pretty decent (like the colour - there's an older one near my house in the same shade). Plus with a 4.3L block it should keep anyone happy
Here's an earlier model of an Aussie RT10, I think they're a bit sexier than the model you posted especially in orange. But then I've had a thing for orange Chargers ever since I was a kid watching The Dukes of Hazzard
Well, I'm sure with all your vast experience you could post your comparisons of various Holdens for us to read & digest...
For that to happen, the devs would need to actually be working on new cars and noone knows if they are or not Also, they're not really in the habit of just releasing stuff just to satisfy people who haven't even tried everything that's already there. You can't release what doesn't exist and there's no point releasing something that's incomplete.
I'm with Suey, there's not much left to discuss in this thread. Coup de grace please
FYI Holden (aka GM) never made Chargers/hemi engines, afaik that's a Chrysler thing (just like in the states, I'd suspect). You can grab a decent V6 Common-dore for anything from 5K to 10K depending on the age and condition... You could even splash out on a V6 turbo Calais if you were feeling adventurous
Some people have already paid for their S3 license but I don't think that option is available anymore. Someone correct me if I'm wrong - I looked at the main site and didn't see an S3 option. Maybe you can still add funds to your LFS account and, in effect, pre-pay for S3?
Anyway, my point is leave it until S3 (and therefore S3 licenses) are actually available.
From a realism point of view, it is broke. I don't see the harm in having a no-speedo option, especially for the open-wheelers. The devs took the horns out of those cars out of respect to realism (and they should do the same with the GTRs), so if the RL counterparts of LFS cars have no speedo I don't see the harm in removing them from the LFS cars.
I watch the tacho (or the shift light), I watch the road and I glance at my times and the gaps between me and the other racers. The speedo's there in the GTR but it's unnecessary. If it wasn't there it would be one less thing to distract me. I'm sure Casey Stoner doesn't give a rat's arse if he's doing 335 or 334 kph down the front straight of wherever, as long his pitboard says "-10 Rossi".
Bottom line: if there was an option to remove the speedo, I'd remove it. One less thing on the dash.
Nix the horn. Keep it in the street-legal cars perhaps, but remove it altogether from the GTRs (along with the clock, speedo and license plate). I know perfectly well what to do when someone's about to lap me and I don't appreciate hearing "beep beep beeeeeep" from the GTR behind me when I'm halfway through a corner. I have mirrors and two handy buttons that let me look left and right - I don't need someone honking at me like it's sodding rush hour.
I once dated a liberal. She turned me gay with constant exposure to leftist propaganda like "Six Feet Under" and "The West Wing" and "iTunes". Thank god there was a drive-thru de-conversion chapel nearby after we broke up! I'm fine now. I still get a bit frisky when I watch Greco-Roman wrestling though.
Yep, if the XRs didn't look like sisters you'd have no clue they had the same mother, even if you dated all three consecutively.
OK, we do actually need (or would definitely appreciate) something with a V8. Perhaps two things with a V8. But starting yet another "I want" thread really wasn't necessary. There are plenty in existence over in the right section and they've all had thousands of views and responses. Really, you'd have to be living under a rock not to know that lots of LFS users would like more cars
I guess it means you're free to do as you please as long as conservatives approve of it, i.e.: don't protest the war; don't expect the same rights as straight people if you're gay (actually, don't be gay to begin with - it's a choice you see, and you can be de-converted at your local church); don't be so bold as to live your life without a god; don't question the actions of your government even if they're clearly shady and their motives keep shifting and don't expect that so-called democratic government to actually act like one and do what you, the people, ask of them. The government know best and that's why you (apparently) elected and re-elected them, so shut the **** up and salute the goddam flag, you filthy leftist commie.
Regardless of whether George pulled off 9/11 (or even had the smarts to do it to begin with), the simple fact is that George & Co. have done everything possible to use 9/11 to push & support every aspect of their agenda (which has been in the works since even before Clinton's presidency), including but not limited to: the Afghanistan invasion; the Iraq disaster; the ironically-named PATRIOT Act; the warrantless and illegal wiretapping of US citizens; the secret detention and torture of untold numbers of people; blatantly ignoring the Nuremberg Charter, UN Charter, US Constitution, the Magna Carta, the Geneva Conventions and just about every other law, both foreign and domestic, which applies to military actions and treatment of prisoners; the awarding of no-bid contracts both in Iraq, Afghanistan and the US itself to companies which have clear and unambiguous connections to Whitehouse personnel; the appointment (or attempted appointment) of Bush cronies to every conceivable office and level of government, and I could go on...
The simple fact remains that, regardless of who was actually responsible for those awful events on September 11, the current administration has done everything in its power to use the phrase "nine eleven" and the associated memories and emotion (and, especially, the fear) to ram whatever it wants to do down the throat of America and the rest of the world.
Well of course "republican" is a swear word. Everyone knows the liberal media hates the troops and hates America and wants it to fail in the War On Everything. They know that only the republicans can stop the al-Qaeda Islamo-fascists from bringing their jihad to the United States, so they constantly attack, villify and slander anyone who's a bit right of their slanted leftist worldview. No-spin, reality-based commentators like Bill O'Relly, Anne Coulter, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others have to fight tooth & nail to get their fair & balanced points of view across in the leftist quagmire that is the godless liberal media. The Republicans are the victims of a liberal media smear campaign that began as soon as President Bush was elected in 2000 and simply hasn't let up. It's a tough time to be a conservative in America and with attacks coming from all sides they have to be vigilant and vocal in getting their voice heard.
