Senna Memorial Race

To remember the tragic weekend at 1 may 1994 with the loss of Ayrton Senna en and Roland Ratzenberger, we have a memorial race this Friday the 1th May.

Program :

Track : Westhill Int.
Car : BF1
Laps : 40 laps.
Pitstop : 1 forced pitstop.
Realism : NO traction control.
Start : qualify 20:30 CET. ( watch our website for correct time the watch is CET time)
Qualify : for 15 minutes 1 outlap, 2 hotlaps
20:45 : race start after 1 minute of silence, cars on track engines off.
20:46 : Restart.
Password : SennA (with capitals)

No subscription needed.... But you can tell us here you will come. We have 47 slots available.

We are only 1 week apart form another thrilling race.

The fast FZR burn all the rubber he's got on the Kyoto national circuit.
It's fast, noisy and fun to drive.. But difficult when pushed to the limit.
And the limit is the only place to be if you want to compete up front.

Yesterday we had our 4th race of season 4.
We drove the FZR around on the Aston Historic Rev Track.

During Qualifying we had some problems with drivers
getting too close to each other and so at least one
of the two hotloaps were destroyed.

DNRT also took 3 hotlaps instead of the maximum 2
and could have been disqualified, but his 2nd hotlap
was still the fastest of the pack so no consequences there.

We will try to change the qualifying sessions to prevent drivers from being too close to each other in the future
But as said DNRT.nl took the pole followed by Bluebird and Rasta (Well done !!)
The race was for 1 hour, no forced pitstop
At L1 we had a little incident between Bluebird and Sennaboy
Bluebird had to come in for an ultra quick repair and could continue last now.

Hanziboy started last but one and was 3rd just before his 1st pitstop but made
a terrible error in the downhill chicane and lost a lot of time getting out of the gravel and pitting for repairs.

First man DNRT.nl was also one of the few on a pitstop strategy. But could stay in the lead after the pitstop
We had a race incident between Bluebird and Sennaboy and Sennaboy gave up.
Cramer, Xtian and towz-T all had a good fight and were close to each other almost the whole race.
But is was Cramer who could take the last podium place.
New driver Enzo, had a lot of off moments and used Shift-P during the race. (disqualify)
Scatter also had a very strong race until he made some errors and had to pit for repairs.
Wellington had engine problems again and had to leave the circuit early.
Rasta made a very good impression during qualifying but made a lot of errors during the race.
He also had to visit the pitbox but crossed the pit exit lines and gets the 20sec penalty.
He therefore loses a place to Scatter.

Also Bluebird and Enzo crossed the pit exit lines but the 20sec penalty did not change there final result.

Yes indeed, with more damage don to the car stuck, and sometime unrealistic jumps from both cars hitting other cars again.. And off course the disadvantaged to need a guy willing to play SC driver and extra slot taken.

But indeed with the same result, bringing back more action to the race.

In the Liveforspeed.be League we also implemented Safety car rules..

You can say why?? A flipped or stuck car is out of the race..
True and ..not true..
There are a lot of race disciplines where stuck or even flipped cars are helped back on track. Rally is a good example of people putting a flipped car back on the wheels so they can continue.
Example of stuck car in gravel is for example F1. When a car is stuck at a dangerous place the stewards may push it out so the racer can continue the race. Schummi was one of the first to use that rule.

Advantages of implementing a safety car procedure :

1. You keep more cars in the race. The race is not over for that racer but the result is that he is put al least 1 lap behind the pack.
2. More cars in the race means, more action, more fun.
3. A safety car procedure always brings back the action because all racers are again close to each other. Close racing ..more action...more fun
4. The fact that a safety car can be deployed counts in how you handle the race on tactics..

Disadvantages for most leagues is they must have an extra racer waiting to be deployed.. often boring and an extra slot used on the server.

We, on our international Liveforspeed.be league, have resolved those disadvantages !!!

I can only say we now have a lot more action in our races and racers can stay in the race and collect more experience about the combo. And a SC procedure does not mean you will be last. An other SC moment brings you more and more up front.. making it able to collect some points after all !!

hi,

Last sunday we had some nice races with 7 racers. Especially in the mid field we had nice close battles. In front we had 3 very fast guys I could not compete with.

On the other hand I improved my Pb 2 times with a total of 2.5 seconds !! And even then I see a lot of racers have a very different way of taking corners, I could see some closing on me every time on the same corners but then I could get increase the gap again also always on the same but other corners. Put those 2 methodes together and you are with the fast cars up front.

It is a very long circuit and we were gone after the third race. This results in less concentration during the last race and a lot made more errors then they did before.
To bring more action into play we added a forced pitstop into the last race. And 2 fast guys came in to hot so the others could gain 2 places.

So the official races will have them to.. so we have 3 X 12 laps with forced pitstop next Sunday.

I still see a lot of racers that have not completed the 20 laps, try to complete at least those this week !
Again if you are planning of having a practice session thsi week, tell it here to the others, for sure others will join.

We also had very close but fair fights.. here one lap where we show what this
league is all about, Pure race fun .. No risky business that put others out of
the race.

We had a lot of racers last Sunday with a lot of
close action..

Circuit was Blackwood GP Rev, Car to drive LX6.
Jyuetsch was fastest in Qualify followed by Gnomie and Towz-T
with this as a qualify result :

We had 3 races with reverse start order for the 2nd and 3rd race.
During those races we did not need the safety car this time
And as told we had a lot of close battles..sometimes too close.

Wellington had a lot of engine failure problems and
Sennaboy had a steering problem at the start of race 3.

Last Sunday we had the first race of Season 4
We drove on Blackwood GP Rev with the XRT.

And for most of us it were 3 very nice races
with a lot of close battles. Luckily wet weather
stayed out.

Pole position was for Jyeutsch.
We have had some close and to close actions,
And racers involved came of with a warning.
But overall we can say we had some fair races.

The big winner of this first event was Towz-T.
Followed by Xtian and 3rd place was for Cramer.
Cramer had and engine blow in the last run but could
have been much higher in the ranking. He also drove
the fastest lap of this event.

Highest climber for this event also was Cramer.

For next event (Race 2) the car has been changed from Scirocco to LX6 because ...indeed we are still waiting for the Scirocco.

Still enough time to join!!!

We are league were noobs and profs are welcome.
And one of the only leagues that has Safety car rules. Because of the Sc we have :
* less racers giving up because they stranded
* Bringing fast and slow cars back together..
* The action is brought back in the race

So join this week or later. You can always join during a running season.

Yes, here it is .... Season 4 Calendar.
This time we have build a learning curve into the season..from easy to difficult.
We start with an easy combo and always change one item on the combo for next race.
With this method you only have to learn more about the new track with the previous car
or the new car with the previous track. To end with the fastest car on the grid.

Next event on the Liveforspeed.be League is with the FBM..

Who will render the skin?? If possible in 1620*1050.. Like always contributions will be added to the website.

I'm also looking vor a large (1620*1050) of th MRT skin
