I know that the Playstation2™ has USB ports on it already. Look under the controller ports at that blue-colored area. But, if you're talking about Driver™ for the origional Playstation™, then I guess my post is pretty pointless. As for this city mod. I think it'd definately be fun to have these physics in a game like that, but at the same time, as everyone has already stated, LFS cannot be modded that way.
I've been playing since before I even joined up on the forums/site, back when S1 was still a demo. I tell you what, it's the best thing I've spent money on... except it pretty much ruins my social life. After I got a good internet connection a little while back, I've started playing online. Now all I do now is play LFS... and go to work/school
Okay, woah, woah, WOAH! If you say drifting is pointless, I've gotta say that you're wrong my friend. On the track in real life, it's saved my life several times, especially one day when I got to drive the Nürgurgring. I went a bit airborn and almost lost control. If I had, I would have been dead, but thankfully, I was able to keep my car on course through the corner, even though I was facing the inside of the corner at about a 70 degree angle. In a Porsche, that's not that easy of a thing to do, and requires skill. Now, In LFS, it's saved me countless times as well, from arrogant people that tap your inside corner and try to make it look like an accident. I've been able to drift thorugh and save my car from loosing control, keeping me in the race. Later, the guy has cut accros me too close in a corner, and clipped me, spinning around, due to a lack of control. When he asked me how I could control my car so well when the back end came loose, I told him that I used to drift a lot, and still like to every once and a while to keep the skill up. Not only that, but having good car control like that, looks absolutely sexy.
I prefer the XRR, mainly because I haven't taken the time to learn the FZR better. Even then, I still like the XRR the best, and the XFR second best.
And, would it be a bad thing if I've beaten FXRs with the XFR? (Allthough I'm definately sure he was a shoddy driver.
I see the F40 in it as well, but I think it just looks so good, and I want to run a few through blackwood in it? Too bad I will most likely never get the chance though.
This is how I view the situation. It seems reasonable in my oppinion. If someone catches me in a chicane, however, it is dangerous to move far enough out of line to allow the faster car to pass, so upon the exit of the last corner, I would stay hugged to the inside, and allow him to keep the faster line out to pass. I've only run into a problem once with my understandings (from actually racing cars), but it was oly a minor accident caused by the faster car diving across the grass on the inside of the turn to try to overtake. While I say minor, our cars were barely damaged, but we were still out of our races, and our battles lost. It was still a fun race however.
And good point about the indicators Vain. I like to use them to signify pitting as well.
YAY! I don't know if you have my AIM or not, but when I get my grades back up, I'll hop on. Heh, this makes me wanna race with you now. But unfortunately, I want to bring up my schoolgrades before I start playing this again... it takes so much outta my time
NO doubt it would be fun, but seriously, I play this because it's a very good simulationof driving. And honestly, why would anyone be that beligerent when someone tells them "sorry, but the developers are busy people and ther are bigger things to do than this"? I think that a simple "that's cool" would have saficed instead of the "F**K YOU blah blah blah". I'm sorry, but south seems on the biggest high horse.
(Oh, and clown, if you wanna see how much better the LFS forum is about shit like that, check out hostileintent.org/forums )
I'm sure Android remembers how they are there, if that's the same Android XP.
Wow gunn... I've never heard of that. That, uh, makes me want to reformat my HD to Linux. I say we amass the troops and go in guns blazing to thwart the Microsoft Empire and restore peace to the PC world!
(Or we could do the unthinkable and use the mekanik programm on a few abrams tanks and ramm them into the MS HQ building at 718km/h )
I have the Logitec Momo R, and since suffering through the problems with the pedals (only briefly before I fixed it), I have decided to look around for a DFP. The Momo has served me very well though, and I'll be selling it to my brother so that he can play too
I use the LX-4, but I'm still working on taming the LX-6. I haven't been able to drive LFS for a while, but not that I'm getting back into it, I think i tshould only be another week or so before I stop wrecking it so often.
Oh yes, so am I. I'm only going to buy a AWD car for my street car, allthough, I like to do the drift comps IRL, and for that I have bought a Silvia S15 from Japan. 425hp, and 410lb/ft torque... gets the job done. I have no gimp ricer body kits on it, it's stock looking, except for the rims, because I got some good looking Ray's on it, and I usually run Kumho tires. I'm still saving for the set of Tein's that I want to buy for it.
Oh, and before I forget, If you find yourself having trouble using the RB4 at first, PM me, and I'll give you a good beginner's setup for it. I have other drift setups for it, depending on the track, but this beginners one is pretty good for all courses.
Yeah, it takes some practice, and trust me, I came from driving with a mouse as well, but that was like a year ago. When straightening out though, the whell (depending on how high the FF is) will kind of want to straighten a little bit, but tou'll still have to do most of the work yourself. No worries though, it shouldn't be hard to pull out of it (and I seriously doubt you're a 5 year old little girl), you should be able to manage quite easily.
Try turning the Force Feedback on your wheel up, if it has it. You'll be able to feel the wheel get into a spot in which it will want to not turn farther on it's own, and not turn less on it's own... kind of a "sweet spot". In this spot, the car will stay true to the line you're in, and make it easier to drift. Your only worries will be if you apply to much handbrake at the bigginning of the drift, or too much gas twords the middle/end, and the point at which the "spot" is reached is too far out of your wheel's turning radius... Your car will go around. If you are hitting the spot, and drifting nicely, you can also turn the wheel farther to pull out of it early (like if someone is in the track, spun about), or if you turn the wheel less, you'll make yourself a higher angle of drift, but possibly move the "spot" out of your wheel's radius.
(Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I tried to put it into words as best as I could.)
I've been racing since before the full S1 was out, and started drifting then as well. I mostly use the XR GT Turbo, but the FZ50 is a GREAT car to use, even when using the standard road setup. Use the road_normal tires because they'll last you longer, and they'll allow the back end to slip out a bit more through the turn. Make sure you keep road_super's on the front though so it makes it easier to maintain control through the drift. If you play with the gears, differential, and center differential controller(75% rear, 25% front torque-split), you can make a pretty decent drift starter car without messing with the suspension.
I seem to notice that when using a non-teamskin, I drive a little slower times, and I may go off here or there on some occasions. But, when using a teamskin, I drive as clean and fast as I possibly can.... I'm not one that likes to make his team look bad.
It's not that a Mercedes or BMW wouldn't be a good street racing car.... It just depends on which model... I could see it if they were driving something smaller than the normal sedan like the sl55 AMG... but not anything like the huge ML 430's or whatever.
Wow, these must've been some badass wreckers(I'll watch the replay when I get home)... glad they can't play in some servers now. The last (And one of my only) wreck I got into was only because I didn't have sufficiant space to clear the way during a Blue Flag, and was waiting till i was finished with the already entered chicane to end so that I could move. Too bad the guy wanted to use my bumper more than his brakes to get through it...
If those companies DID care, they'd have to sue everyone that's ever made a skin in the skins section... But anyways, who honestly cares? It's freely advertising their product, and inducing hunger in people to get them to buy their food, so then they go out and spend money in their resaurant... all thanks to this man. They should be paying him!
I'm glad that it's not just me with this problem ingame....
-when you are making a turn, and you're afraid the guy behind you isn't going to want to use his brakes as much as he'd like to use your rear bumper... (I usually wind up taking turns at abou 60kp/h because of this )
I think the whole dynamic, LFSWorld-controlled weather thing would be SO awesome. Allthough IF it were to happen, it would be very far off in the future... but I'd still probably be playing LFS
