Quote from Eclipsed :When someone is on track, you can see his restrictions in F11 menu when spectating, that way event admins can see what's used. Also it's possible to define custom cars (original car with specific restriction) in airio and it spectates people when not using correct restriction. So don't worry about that stuff and make the car more realistic. Also who knows - in future there might be more cars that could group with default powered Lister in same class.

Well, if restriction could be monitored by event organizer or admins atleast, then okay. I'm prepping the real spec of this car soon

Quote from Gutholz :Where do you find the 700bhp? On wikipedia or here: https://www.supercars.net/blog/1999-lister-storm-gt2/ it says 417.6 kw / 560.0 bhp @ 6400 rpm. Or is that a different version?
560 would not be so far off from the 510 that you have now.

If the goal is to be an addition to the LFS GTR cars then I would say: Give it roughly fitting performance "out of the box". The last few percentages can be dialed in with weight ballast and intake restriction by event organisers. That is often done with LFS cars, XRG gets 1-2% restriction to race with XFG. In TBO class the FXO often gets 2%, XRT 1% and RB4 is default.
But sometimes on less strict servers the cars are run as-is because the differences are small.

If the differences are bigger then it would always require an admin or script to be present.
Also setups are usually based on non-restricted cars. It could be annoying if the car becomes popular to be mixed into GTR class and players have re-do setups etc.

The real car was used in various series, probably with different adjustments to their changing rules. It was fitted with an intake restrictor at some point, too. So it does not seem completly out of place that when entering the LFS world, it would be adjusted again.

I'm not quite sure, because there's lot of version of this car, some of them said 700bhp, and some are 560bhp as you mentioned

But looks like I'll follow the 560bhp one since it was realistic and not so far if "Balanced of Performance" applied, but let me decide and dig more info about it about perhaps recent car spec, so it will follow real spec despite the car exterior not so realistic ๐Ÿ˜„

Quote from Eclipsed :LFS has the good old intake restrictor - available on same screen in garage where you select fuel amount. So don't worry about power, make it as the real car and additionally you can create a base setup with already added restrictor to match the performance (call it LFS GTR or something like that). But only proper testing will show the right value, which event organizers do.

hmm, what should I put it

I know the restrictor power feature exist, but does event organizer, or admins who held the race (if there's any GTR Classes race session someday) could force participant who are using this car to use the BOP'd setup? because in fairness, if there's no mechanism that forced player car to use specific limited settings, then this car will be out of league using the actual 700bhp/1100kgs, and never be able to participate from anyone league with GTR classes, which was my initially intended to it :/

ahh sorry if my english messed up xD

Quote from MandulAA :Great job! Hopefully some talented creative people create some skins for this, would look really cool instead of the default full colors. Once small thing that bugged me when I switched to the chase view: could the rear lights (brake and turning/hazard) have just a little bit more smooth curves and be more of a circle instead of a 8-point polygon? Since the car has smooth curves all over it and looks great. Smile

uhh yes, the rear light needs to be redesign a bit so it's not low poly, thanks for pointing out the small mistakes !

Quote from Zopiac :My only two complaints are that, visually, the steering wheel is perhaps a bit close to the dash (I feel as though my knuckles would smack into things when holding the wheel) and that on hard braking my wheel's FFB kicks around a bit. I wish I knew what caused the latter as I've seen it on a few mods so far! Just spikes of force wrenching the wheel one way or another.

I didnt know if this was a problem or not, but in my G29 it feels the same, I'll try to find the issue, and perhaps update this car if I found how to fix that, thanks

Quote from Eclipsed :In my opinion you should had leave it original spec and let event organizers use restrictors for car balancing as they do also in real racing.
Also I would welcome a road going version - only 4 of those were built,so LFS users could have a chance to drive one of the "unicorns".

This what I'm considering, does LFS has "force" restrictor to power limit? because actual V12 Jaguar Engine have around 700bhp, which quite monster compared to the other GTR car

And with restrictor, I doubt it will feel way to different or even undriveable since, that's why I decided to do my own "Balance of Performance" myself. but perhaps I'll made a different mod which have full blown 700bhp and 1100kgs, ofcourse with some minor modifications so it will not look similar with this one

and those road version, seems interesting enough to made, but let's see if I have motivation to do it Big grin

Quote from Zopiac :I'm not sure if it's intentional, but there are some bits of wood veneer still visible. Left of dash and bottom of door card. Getting clipping with audio, which I mostly solved by reducing header/exhaust mix, gear volume, and wind/skid without changing the tone too much. Seating position seems quite far back compared to normal. Also some gaps around the doors My bad, it's just some shine on the rollcage making it look like I was seeing sky through the door.

No problems with the driving, however, and that's what really matters.

Thanks for pointing out again ! just checked and duh, my bad.

Gonna fix it soon, and for driving position, I tried to mimics how Lister Storm GT2 are, which is quite back because of big front engine, so yes, it's intentional.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:

DESCRIPTION:
Quote :An iconic race car from the past, based on 1992 Lister Storm GT2

Spec are downgraded to meet "Balanced Of Performance" when compete with GTR Classes (XRR-FXR-FZR), with 7.0L V12 with measly 510bhp and weight more than any other GTR car, it's an beast car to drive with, could more or less beat FZR (the fastest GTR car in its class)

This mod are intended for any league holder to use, if there's a league with GTR car, then this car will be a great candidate to giving some variations in racing with GTR classes

On the cockpit screenshot they block much of the view. Compare with the readl car, there they are thinner.

Yes, I think it quite thick, will make revision soon, thanks for spotting it too ๐Ÿ˜„

Congratulations on the work, I really liked it, it's very good !!

Quote from fatalunfair :Propably cos it has almost 1/3 of the drag Niko's V8 FXO has Shrug

actually, because the powercurve aren't right, compared to Niko's car, mine have the power from midrange rpm with long ratio, while Niko's car have a peaky power with close ratio

Please test the latest one, and let me know if it still too fast compared to Niko's car Big grin

Alright !! XR GTS Cup has been finished and WIP badge has been removed

this mod are finish at it is

Changelog final:
-2L engine now based on 3S-GE "mild tune" 7600rpm, 180hp, it still fun because final gear has been tuned to 4.300, quite fun I suppose for trackday or cup racing
-added towhook
-fixing some mesh, now smooth as factory

I would say, I quite impressed with this mod really !!

but perhaps on my point to comment when driving around Fern Bay Green, your car perhaps too much downforce compared on how your engine produce power

and perhaps the handling will be improved if you change the suspension setup from MacPherson Strut to double wishbone (IMHO)

from 3D model wise, I would say, that's quite ricer and also weird when 4 cyl engine have 2 muffler, perhaps you need to delete one of each, or having only one on the center of bumper just like Honda HSV, or you could change the engine into like V6 or V8 so the 2 muffler still make sense Big grin

great job, I've started one but seeing this I think it's better wait for yours to complete Big grin

Quote from MicroSpecV :27/12/21

Great start, good engine sound and great rims and body. Looks like the earlier Ford Falcon gen 1 (we now have 2 Holdens, a Skyline and a Ford V8sc squad on the mod forum Big grin)

Things to improve on is the speed. This is way too fast, but I cannot figure out if it's the body weight and mass, or the engine that's overpowered. This ran around my scaled Gold Coast track in 1:09 while all the other V8/ATCC cars ran 1:12s/1:13s. It just goes up the gears and accelerates like no tomorrow, which his unrealistic.

Brakes are also too strong from baseline, at least for this car. V8SC have bad brakes, and at 1800 they feel strong already. Might need to change that.

Handling wise is generally ok, perhaps a tad numb on corner entry. Main issue is that ot does suffer from rear squat and tripod disease on acceleration, which makes the inside wheel spin funny. niko's car on the other hand tripods on braking and corner turn in. So yep, you'll need to get around that too.

Otherwise good job!

That's massive input that I glad to hear ! Thankyou, I'll take note first for all point that you mention, and will try and rework for it, thanks again for this detailed input, this is what I need ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Quote from PopnLochNessMonster :Very fun car to drive. Is the steering wheel really that tight for rally cars? Forgive if I am just not in the know but it looks like it is 90 degrees both ways. Big grin

actually it has been set to 540 degrees lock to lock as how rally car does, but lemme check it later on editor when it has correct or not, right now I'm still on holiday, but I'll take note for that when I back in this business, thankyou !

Quote from RE Amemiya :I think there are a few tweaks to cog or roll center needed, there is very little body roll even with soft springs. I think it makes it a little bit under steer prone on dirt, but overall it is fun! I think that an older mitsu "sirius" would have a bit more explosive top end due to old turbo tech. keep working, its a fun one.

Noted, the suspension setting are quite tentative, so any input are welcome, I'll retest and making change to it soon when free

As for engine, yes, we aiming for 4G63T that are mild tuned, so the goal just like replica of Group B, let's say this are just street rally perhaps, but dunno, perhaps I and martin will develop the Group B "Sirius" engine too, but for now maybe I'll stick to this mild tuned 4G63T for a while because I think Group B engine were too much

Let's see, thanks for your input btw ๐Ÿ˜„

alright, my final checkpoint was here.

so I decided to make 3 colour option for the car, first colour ofcourse for the main body, second colour I set for Rollbar on interior, and third colour was for towhook on the front bumper (if you could see)

that's all for now, since I have business for Domestic Christmas flight, all progress will be updated slowly, atleast until I had free time again once there's finished

Disclaimer: all this work has been done directly inside LFS Editor, some parts are taken from another car INSIDE the LFS Editor

I quite happy to challenge myself to create something outside 3dsmax and Blender program, yes this app has caveat especially to smooth out low poly curves, but overall I'm happy that I'm quite learn a lot from this app, Thanks LFS Developer team !! I love you (no homo)

So I decide to use 3.5L V8 Small Block, actually this engine was taken from Flat 6 FZR, but I change it to V8, and make some adjustment so it will scream up to 7k rpm, not so high? yes I know, but my projection is to Small Block engine which still uses Push-Rod, and all we know, Push-Rod engine couldnt have high rev limit because there's ton of reciprocating mass on each part that will break into failure if revving too high, as how IRL push-rod engine does

also, since it rev limit was lower, so I put V8 Crossplane instead StraightPlane, since CP engine will generate power so good starts from low to mid rpm range

pardon for my OOT, TL;DR, the engine spec will be 3.5L V8, 7400rpm (safe limit so the engine will never overrun when accidentaly downshifting twice)

so I decided to make directly a GTR version, since it will much tempting to make and balance rather than road car

so I add spoilers, no fake Aero whatsoever for sure Big grin

Hello everyone,

actually I much active on discord, and just remembered today that I need to post in forum to get some insight from you all guys

so, starting from the facebook, which usually I see and share some random shitpost, until one day I found out, Morgan just release car called "Morgan Plus 8 GTR" which are resemblance of Morgan Plus 8 that raced on the old day (I not quite know about story of this car really, but as interesting as the body model, it makes me influenced to make one in LFS, but in my version

the attachment that I include below, are the 3 hour progress, just for the exterior thingy, I think I'm really satisfied, despite the car started from LX6 base (I know, it will be called "Default Car" by some people since it's not really start from scratch)

looking forward to this thread, also, please try to make some BoP like in GT Sport, so if there's once any League in LFS that uses GTR car, car selection are much vary, and quite interesting to watch and compete with same laptime with different car spec

Right now I making a GTR car too from scratch, but I'm looking someone whom make any other GTR car too, this perhaps will interesting to watch, and soon I'll make my own thread

Quote from neonmateo :I love this mod and looked for this thread to write same feedback as martin18 already did. Looks good and feels nice to drive, just bit underpowered and please allow other types of slick tires, its hard to keep optimal temperature of r4's. Smile

Thanks man, I dont know if 200hp will still slower on straightline, as the goal is making this car to be feel underpowered and hopeless on any long-wide chicane but catching up on the corner, which will beneficial if compete on technical course, or any short to medium course

for the tyres, I'm afraid if it go higher than R4 will less enjoyable, but lemme test it again and decide on next update. thanks anyway for the input Smile

Quote from martin18 :I love the concept of this! I always said I think there should be cup version of the base model cars, stock body with stripped interior roll cage and minor exterior changes.

I think the engine could use some work thereโ€™s 1200 rpmโ€™s that donโ€™t do anything red line might as well be 8,000 not 8,600. I think the car would benefit with a 200HP and 150 FTLbs torque

Hey, Thanks for the feedback, yeah, I think The powercurve still not right, because I aiming for fun to drive that's mean low end torque will not be sacrificed, hence not too wild and too kicked-in

might coming soon with corrected ones, and remove the WIP badge once done Smile
