I'm a big supporter of electric cars but having seen the Le Mans diesel Audi live I have to say that Motorsport definitely needs to find a way to keep them petrol engines even when some day they are no longer accepted in general automotive transport.
League would still be interesting though. And wth hasn't Top Gear done any stuff on this?
FYI. Race 2 is live on Eurosport 2 today at 14:00 CET. First time I'll be watching this series although I have seen a demo run of the car and it looked and sounded quite nice.
EDIT:looks like race 1 was on from 11:00 to 12:00. Somehow missed it when I was checking the schedule on eurosport.com.
In Germany there is exactly one SS club racing series. It has 3 races in Germany and you have to be happy with the safety standards from the '60s and 70's (historic Formula Vee).
You mustn't forget that England cannot be compared to any other country in the world when it comes to club racing. In most countries there's really only a handful of club series and it's quite unlikely that any of them are single seaters.
He's not some unknown kid, he's the guy who beat Vettel very clearly in F3 euroseries, both even driving for the same team. Then, similarly to Paffett, he didn't have enough money to do GP2 so he went for a payed drive in DTM. This weekend he still has a chance to secure the DTM title and next year it looks like Mercedes may be paying for him to go to GP2 after all. And yes, he's Franchitti's cousin.
EDIT: forgot a minor detail, his name, Paul di Resta.
Yeah, I really wonder why he failed to impress them more as a test driver. He's been ultra fast in everything he's ever done. Right now his career is going round in circles a bit. He's dominating the DTM B class which will probably lead him back into the DTM A class, which he already won in 2005...
But where can he go? At 27 he's probably too old to do a di Resta and go to GP2 and F1 teams, other than the failed prodrive, have never seemed interested. Shame.
Hamilton: he already beat Alonso in his first season and can only get better.
Alonso: showed that he can be as quick and often quicker than Hamilton last year, and IMO may well be the only driver to ever do so during Lewis' career. Some great drives this year also.
Kubica: first driver ever to cause problems for Heidfeld, great pace, few errors.
EDIT: I guess I didn't really answer the question, as Hamilton and Alonso as team mates didn't really work that well. So my choice would be Hamilton and Kubica.
That's only part of the truth though. Fully locked means 100% lock. Preload makes sure that lock never gets to 0% but it doesn't do this by always making it 100%.
I went to bed after Lewis was given yet another penalty for an offense that has never ever in the past been seen as worthy of a penalty and won't be in the future (although it was a bonehead move).
Then I wake up and read about another ridiculous pro Massa decision and it doesn't even anger me, F1 just can't be taken seriously as a sport. It needs to break down and die already, public taxes are being paid for this shit ffs.
And this guy gets the prize for representing his team fittingly by behaving like a POS on live TV after seeing his driver spin an opponent around. Never seen anything like it.
It's called "TrafficShare Download" and you can use it if sign up. I got 10 GB worth of TrafficShare bandwidth when I signed up for 1 month, after that they sell it for about 18ct/GB.
So there we have it. It's been clarified which means it was not clearly defined before which means they can't give a penaltly for it. Lewis will get his win back on September 22. If there are sane people judging that is.
I know I'm late to the party but I just had my first look at rafa and I'm quite impressed! Very clean and easy to use. In case you are still looking for feedback here are my suggestions how it could be made a lot more useful.
First, as yapper mentions above, a time difference graph is very useful to find out where time is being gained/lost. To save space I would put this in the same window as speed as that's the one that's going to be open all the time.
Also important would be IMO that when I zoom, all graphs are zoomed at the same time, so that the cursor line is still in sync with the displayed data. For example if I zoom in to turn 1 to analyze the braking I want to see steering and throttle all at the same scale and the same position.
And I think there needs to be a way to move the cursor position using the keyboard so that I can go through a lap step by step. For example one real life data analysis tool I've worked with uses the arrow keys to move the cursor and ctrl+arrows to move the currently visible range (when you are zoomed).
Not really important but nice would be if a live steering wheel could be added to the overview screen and whether it could be moved to the right hand pane as to not take away room for a real graph.
