Quote from Seb66 :Lol, chillout.

In other news, I don't like the handling of the Star mazda.. I just hate how the way is slides, or should I say snaps is very unpredictable.. Anyone else find that?

Hmm, I find the Mazda pretty predictable, If or should I say when I have a spin I am already aware that the spin is going to happen turning into the corner. In other words, I don't think the the Mazda is unpredictable, but I've only had 3 or 4 days of experience with it at one track, Mazda Laguna Seca.

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :You mean wins don't you?

Umm, I thought it was decided on pole positions. Maybe I'm wrong.

Edit, I think you're right, and if they are tied on wins then it goes to pole positions

Points tie between Hamilton, Button and Webber so it has to be decided on pole positions which would give Webber the title. It's a big ask but would be awesome!

Quote from E.Reiljans :In which car? I checked FZR@KY1 WR (by 510N3D) in RAF analyzer and he didn't reached even 290 km/h there.

FZR with a set from one of the FM boys.

Both Aussie V8 supercars and the DTM run V8 engines, well, at least I know Audi do.
None of the GTR cars in LFS run a V8 nor are any really close to the 4.0ltr engines of DTM in terms of power.
Now when you compare them to a V8 Supercar you see a big difference, A V8 Supercar has a 5.0ltr IIRC and gives out around 630hp.
Now do you see the differences?

---Edit---
Just took a nice Oval set and had a test, Max I got from it was 290k/ph so I'm sure 300 is workable if you choose the correct ratios.

@ Degats, that is in a TBO, on a full tarmac circuit there is no other choice than roadsuper.

In the STD cars -insert s******s- there is, what can be seen as a problem. The hybrids heat up much faster but the performance does not drop off, when realistically(AFAIK) it should.

I'm sure Scawen knows what he is doing when it comes to this.

My guess is that;
The hybrids last so long on STD cars compared to TBO/LRF because there is no difference in the tyres model, such as the difference between the road normal and road super.

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] : I heard they told them in the briefing that doing that more than 3 times wouldn't be accepted,

I believe they said consistently and as Tim Harvey said, an easy way to get around that as a touring car driver is doing it every other lap

BTCC does not need the sheer stupidity of drivers such as Collard and Neal to keep its publicity.
That sort of driving (not going to call it racing because to me, that is not racing) is not fun to watch unless you like hyped up banger cars. If the racing continues as it has been between the Fords and nearly every other car on the track, TO-C or Tom Chilton are going to be injured pretty soon, And with Knockhill coming up if the contact is as bad as Silverstone disaster is just around the corner for Team AON.

Quote from DoC_uk :another thing worth keeping in mind Jake ... If you have 60 entrants to a specific race Iracing will split that number into 3 different races , how the inital 60 is split depends on your Irating and your SR , so if you can get yourself into the top or middle split things are all good . However if you are in the bottom split then things can ( not always ) get a little touchy .

Soon as your Irating is up around 1700-2000 this shouldnt be a problem as you will hit the middle split

Thanks for that info, I didn't know, looking at the mixed SR in some races I thought it was just a random split. I'm at 1599iR so with some top 8 finishes hopefully I will work my way up

Quote from DoC_uk :Tbh m8 the mazda is the 1st of the cars that offers less noobs .. you maybe thinking of the skip barber as that is a class D car ... mazda being class C and there fore needing much more money to get too ..

just my opinion of course

Oh cool think I might buy it when I find a card that works online then
I was sceptic about buying it because I had heard from one person that some newbies run into the back of you.
But now I have heard the complete opposite think I'll buy it anyway

Can anyone tell me how the Star Mazda races are?
I've noticed there are more newbies in some classes than others, and Star Mazda looks like a newbies kind of car...

I tried iRacing around January this year and I can say I was bitterly unimpressed with it.
Until around 2 weeks ago I still had the same verdict about it, but then I hired another month and with a completely different state of mind from the first time round, then drove until I am where I am now, Class C road course 3.55. Now I thoroughly enjoy the simulator and have purchased 2 tracks, the Ford Mustang and FG01 V8 supercar. My opinion has completely changed about the sim because of the state of mind I went into the simulator with the second time round.

The moral of the story is, You can not drive iRacing in the same manor you would drive LFS. You need to be cautious, you need to be concentrating 100% every lap and if you let go of that concentration you might as well withdraw from the race. That is what I love about iRacing, it is a real simulator. Forget the cowboy overtakes, forget the flat out through yellow flags, forget not concentrating on anything but your own line, because if you even think of doing anything I have mentioned you are doomed from the green light.

That is my take on iRacing.

I'm not sure how accurate my knowledge is on trucks that race but...
Truck have more than 6 gears I think and they run a H-pattern gearbox, and with most of todays sim racing equipment the most gears you will find in a H-Shifter is 8, so bringing trucks into LFS, a simulator, would be kind of unrealistic. Yes, you could use a sequential gearbox but it would hamper the realistic side to LFS.
I know many pro sim racers opt for flappy paddles in GTR cars and other cars that are meant to have stick shifts but I for one prefer to keep it as realistic as possible and therefore use the appropriate shifting mechanism as according to the vehicle I am driving.

Although we do have people racing round using a keyboard or mouse, which I acknowledge in real life, would be pretty difficult.

Quote from zeugnimod :If you already have 3 cars in that picture there, maybe you should have taken 1 FXO, 1 XRT and 1 RB4.

Good luck, I'm afraid you will need it.

Maybe he didn't have BTCC skins for all 3 cars...

I guess it's personal preference but I have owned a few (7+) guitars since I began playing but my favourite out of every one I have owned is my Strat. It feels awesome to play, although I play more rhythmic rock/Punk music such as B182, Sum41, Arctic Monkeys ect ect.

I think limiting the lap-count or having a time based online demo period is fair.
I'm going to quote someone from that I was on last night,
"How can something that is free be unfair?"

I fully agree with that quote and I'm going to apply it here.

If you are not willing to pay for the game then, in my strong opinion you do not have the rights to complain. Kinda like the voting system yes? You don't vote, you get no say.

The demo accounts are fairly limited, with only 3 cars, 3 tracks and no legit way of uploading a skin it must get very boring for you guys, which does hint that some people just do not have the money to pay for the game. But say, if the demo was limited to 500 laps per car & track combo that is 2500 laps (3000 FBM + BL2) and after you have played them laps hopefully you would have had enough time to put a couple of €/£/$ away to then buy the game because the limit would have spurred you on to be able to keep your online statistics and user-name.
