Maybe Ray means that while you're waiting for the green flag notification to appear on the screen you're likely to react to anything that appears, even if it's just a split time. I'd still recommend disabling the large split notifications though, that should help imo.

My point really is that either way it's calculated (time or laps) Merc did not exceed the limit. On IRC yesterday lots of people were saying that they went over on laps, but I don't believe that they did.

According to our results, which are taken directly from the replay, Steffen Stanger only actually drove 51 laps, with Jonesy driving 151. Steffen actually drove about 50.99 laps, as the pit boxes at Blackwood are immediately before the s/f line - I guess the MoE tracker takes that as 50 laps but that surely isn't the correct way of doing it.

Still a good-looking line-up after losing two drivers .

I don't plan to compete in this test race, or the league itself, but having read through the first page of this thread I think that you may all have missed something...

The race will end when the first car crosses the line after 6 laps (for example). If the Formula XRs have been lapped once by the leading FO8, for example, then they will only complete 5 laps. In terms of time, both classes will always have races of a similar length when they are competing in the same session.

So you can all stop trying to cater for both classes with the lap counts! If you want 20 minute races, aim for 20 minutes using the expected FO8 lap times and the FOXs won't race for much more than 20 minutes!

The GFC used to race mixed-class with FOX and FO8, check out some of their race results to understand how LFS deals with it.

The links at the top of the forum have been broken for a week or two. It looks like there is just an ampersand (&) missing between 'news' and 'nid'.

I do plan to add search pages at some point, I'm just too busy/lazy to do it right now :P.

This was a really tough race for us.

In GT1 we lost around seven laps in the space of just thirty minutes with a series of 5 disconnects, followed by another in the final hour of the race, losing us two of the places we'd worked so hard to recover. It's really a shame for Heikki, Teemu and Marc because they did so well to drive the entire race with just the three of them, with myself unable to remain connected to the server for more than a couple of minutes. Marc had gone skiing in the week leading up to the race, not arriving home until around 2330 UTC on Saturday, over 10 hours into the race, so I think that makes the performance of the three of them - with Heikki and Teemu having to cover for him - even more impressive.

Our GT2 car had a comparitively trouble-free race, finishing third, with their only disconnection coming around 30 minutes before the end of the race. The strategy didn't prove to be the best though, and F1RST and Infinity were much too quick for us in this race.

So while we can be pleased to have done as well as we could in GT2, I feel one of the top three positions was certainly within reach in GT1 so it's certainly a shame to have yet another long race ruined for us by internet problems.

Congrats to Mercury, #low (bad luck, but you're leading the championship now ), 3id for their first MoE podium, F1RST for their awesome GT2 display, and Infinity as well for another second place in GT2.

Edit: Who else has totally screwed their body-clock? I woke up at 0100 local time today! -.-

Rounds 4-6 will take place during European daylight saving time. Will these rounds also start at 21:00 French local time (19:00 UTC/GMT) or will they remain at 20:00 UTC/GMT as in Rounds 1-3, which will be 22:00 in France due to daylight savings?
