In LFS, RCM messages are often used by administrators to (re)start races after a safety car, or when a rolling race start is used. This will usually be a message saying 'Green Flag!', or something similar.
A possible problem which I have observed is that these messages don't seem to arrive to all clients simultaneously, and I therefore propose that there is another form of RCM which is displayed at the same time for all clients.
This could be implemented with something like a 1 second delay on the message being displayed, to account for any acceptable ping rate, and could use the same technique LFS uses to sync start lights at the beginning of a race.
Ah right, I wasn't aware that collision detection had been improved, that explains it .
Regarding the improvements, maybe the collision detection still isn't perfect. On lap 2 Homme made heavy contact with the wall on the last corner and the next lap was not invalidated, even with Y18.
The current hotlap WR with the FBM @ SO Sprint 2 by Homme is invalid, but LFS records the time regardless.
He hits the wall in the last corner of lap 1, and LFS says "Next-invalid". On lap 2 he sets his best time, but even though LFS says "Lap-invalid" the time is recorded. He also hits the wall at the end of lap 2 in the same point as lap 1, but this time the next lap is not invalidated.
Anyway, the bug with LFS not invalidating laps upon wall contact at South City is well known, the new (to my knowledge) bug here is that LFS does invalidate the lap, but still records the time anyway.
Edit: "Homme's hotlap was not valid and will soon be removed.
Please select another racer for comparison."
Hmm, why's that? At the moment an event runs from 2000 to 0045 for us in the UK. I don't really see how 1700 to 2145 or 1800 to 2245 would be so bad, especially when you consider that some people are having to drive until 0245 or even 0345.
If everybody votes for what they want, and not what they think the majority want then we'll get the most representative solution.
If you've copied the question exactly as it should be, then the probability is 0 because, as DWB already said there's a '.' in there which is not available to the monkey!
If you put the '.' there by mistake, or you didn't but it's not a trick question, your answer of (1/27)^39 is correct.*
*This obviously assumes that the odds of hitting any key is the same, and that hitting the same key multiple times in succession is no more likely than hitting any other combination of keys.
Come on guys! The pace isn't going to be on a par with the International series, so even if you're not a quick driver it's worth entering!
It might help if people could register but specify that they'll enter providing there will be n or more signups. I think a few people are holding back because they don't want to take part with only a couple of people to race against.
Is anything being done to try and find more drivers? With three days to go until the first race there are still only two of us signed-up and I'm quite sure that 99+% of active licensed UK LFS'ers don't actually know about this league.
