So, it seems that the plan is to start in a little over a week from now. Do you intend to actively advertise the league this time around? I remember that last time there were only a small handful interested, and I personally PM'ed about 50 British members of this board, so I'm still quite sceptical about numbers this time around.
I don't really want to sign up myself until I see a few other names on the list, but obviously if everyone is doing that then there won't ever be any. However, I don't really want to risk paying to race against 3 or 4 other people every other week, and I'm sure there are others who share that mindset.
Edit: Also, according to esport-racing.com, the first race is on April 1st. The opening post of this thread states April 4th as the date of the first race.
What program are people using to watch the video Bawbag posted? Using VLC the video is extremely choppy and pretty much unwatchable. My PC is pretty crap, but I don't usually have any problems watching videos on here.
Typical Arrow contradicting me in public! If it's easy for you to move all of the current sub-forums into an archive sub-forum I think you should do that. I'll deal with Arrow next time I see him on MSN!
Hi Victor,
This is a bit of a nasty request I'm afraid... could all of the sub-forums in LFS World Series possibly be moved into a new sub-forum, called "Archive"? We aren't using them anymore and they are a real pain when you just want to read the threads at the bottom of the page! So the new structure would be LFS World Series > Archive > Argentina, LFS World Series > Archive > Australia, etc.
Yes, it is. But, if they are copy & pasting this somewhere for it to be parsed by a script, it seems likely that only one of "Holland" and "Netherlands" will work correctly .
Vincper, Ho Feng Wong, Netherlands
MarcG, Marc Gassner, Germany
.deFINe., Jari Mattila, Finland
joshdifabio, Josh Di Fabio, United Kingdom
Edit: Looking at Thommm's post, I'm assuming we should use Netherlands and not Holland? I ask because afaik you copy and paste these posts somewhere, and I wouldn't want to bugger things up :P.

Me and my housemate picked up a couple of bags of pork-scratchings from the local petrol station on our way back from town tonight... we bumped into some chavs who told us about an earthquake in the area. I commented on how blatantly the chavs were lying to us, but they were infact telling the truth!! Who'd have thought it?!
Anyway, I'm thoroughly disappointed that I missed this. Hopefully next time we'll get some sort of warning so I can pre-emptively load up Call of Duty.
Possibly, I do think that it was a problem during round 1. Maybe just add that attempting to immediately re-pass a car which has just lapped you is seen as defensive driving.
SamH: I think that you need to realise that "hotlapping", as you call it, is probably the main part of endurance racing. Look at the results from any IGTC or MoE race and you will see that the teams posting the fastest times are at the front! If a team is more aggressive than others at passing backmarkers, and gains 0.2s per lap because of it, this adds up a lot over a period of four hours. 0.2 per lap would equate to around 40 seconds in the race just gone.
It's not fair to keep critisizing teams for wanting to lap as quickly as possible; if a team wants to challenge for wins then they can't possibly give away a few tenths every lap. Remember that in an endurance race you aren't constantly battling for position with the cars around you, gaining places is achieved by being quicker over a long period of time, which means being fast lap after lap.
I also want to add that hotlapping means being fast over 1 lap, being consistently fast over a sustained period of time is a different skill entirely. People need to stop bashing others for wanting to win races!
The most annoying thing is when you lap someone, and then they draft you out of the corner and you have to yield to them into the next turn to avoid an incident. This just loses (note the correct spelling nubs) both of you a lot of time and is completely pointless, especially when you are clearly quicker.
It should certainly not be allowed imo, it's basically the same as defending a pass if you continually attempt to repass a car as soon as it laps you. This is especially common with the GTR class as the FZR is a lot better than the others under braking, the FXR accelerates more quickly from the corners, and the FXR and XRR both have a higher top speed than the FZR.
Well that really sucked for me. Has anyone else had unusually low FPS with this weather setting? I had below 20 FPS with mirrors on, and no higher than 30 FPS with mirrors disabled. I could barely keep it on the track. When the safety car came out I tried to tweak my graphics settings... changed texture setting to low and the game just froze for ages :/. Then I was kicked to the main menu, lost us a lap I think.
Ah, I assumed you'd be using x.y laps instead of time to show large gaps, but actually showing the time difference does sound more attractive. Personally, I'd flag a car as a DNF if it hadn't crossed a split line in more than n minutes. This could automatically correct itself if the car resumed racing more than n minutes later. For me, n would equal 5!
Anyway, I look forward to seeing the finished article some time in the future, it sounds very promising.
Edit: One other point; it would be good if the tracker could be mirrored on other servers to spread the load. It's output could be made available in XML format on the host server, with a generic PHP (for example) script publicly available which would parse the XML file and creates a proper HTML output. This way, anyone could create a mirror without needing to be given direct access to any database.
