Qualy went great for me, put down a banker lap which was pretty nice then finally pulled a lap together to hit a 26.7 which I was delighted with.
Race was harder, lost the lead down to turn 1 due to no draft but after the first safety car I got it back. I knew damage was a big issue so I wanted a big enough gap to be able to repair and come out near the lead. I was pushing like mad and came in for my pit, but lost the lead I had stretched out. Safety cars then came and tyres got really cold. I had matti trying an overtake in eau rouge then a little dive into turn 3 but held the position. I eventually got into the draft of teemu and made the move to take the win. Was such a great battle with him and such a close race, cya at the oval! :|
Great race for me, just like I had found out before I seem to lack the qualy pace in the single seaters cars. Still I managed to put it on p6 which was good for me. Start went well and was p4 after lap 1. The safety car was the real turn around for my race, nobody judged ilbens set off and it left 4 of us going into T1 with me and jarno coming out safe in p2 and 3. I knew jarno was running a full tank so wanted to get past as soon as possible.
Trying to catch ilbens was hard but I noticed a few mistakes by him which gave me some hope. I was running the first stint light and kind of expected ilbens to pit around the same time but it wasn't the case and lost a little bit of time whilst he was on light fuel. Constantly through the race I was watching his tyres and after his pit they were very cold so I decided to make my move and made it stick to take the win and a great start to the season.
I just went by the rules, so i assumed getting an average of 11th would give me -13kg, so thats why I did, and now your telling me that i dont get that. Your just talking crap now. And if this is how its been for the first rounds (where your just giving any kg to any position) then clearly ive just not been paying attention. You've even said yourself the i got an average of 11th, so explain to me as simple as you can, why i dont get -13kg?
And i never said the ballast was too much, im just trying to make you realise that at some point you have made a mistake in this, weather it be in calculating my average position wrongly, or giving me the wrong deduction of kg's.
So your going to change the rules now? So that i have to suffer with more KG after i planned it all out last round so i could have less?
Sure it makes sense to change it for the next race, but to do that now so that i lost out on my tactical race?

Ok so you give me average of 11th. In the rules it says 11th or lower is -13kg. So why dont i have -13kg?
It says that in the rules... Im only going by YOUR RULES in the RULE BOOK, which is clearly not what your going from.
As far as i am aware, 11th place OR lower in the average position gives -13kg, which is why i stopped at the line last race so i could get the -13kg. I have no idea why i have -7kg only, so it would be nice for this to be explained.
1st = 30kg
2nd = 20kg
3rd = 15kg
4th = 10kg
5th = 5kg
6th = -2kg
7th = -3kg
8th = -5kg
9th = -7kg
10th = -10kg
11th and lower = -13kg
Since there are 2 races, your position will be calculated as theoretical average position from both races.
(For example: If you finish 1st in sprint race and 5th in feature race, your position = 3rd = +15kg added for
the next round. If there are more than 1 driver with the same “average” position, both of them will get the
same ballast etc.)
EDIT: Your rules not mine, explains it here which is pretty clear to me. My average position was 11th, so therefore -13kg. Or am i missing something
Interesting race for me, so many demo/bl people and with the high 45kg balast I just hoped for top 10. Qualy was quick, only wanted to do 1 lap and manage to hit some 33.5 which was only good for p16
Sprint race was very much of a defending race, got into p13 or smthing and just defended like hell to try and hold it :P
Main race was much different, got a great start and by split 1 I was p7. Luckily for me I was behind the battling group and they was holding each other up so I managed to get a move on Pena to get p6. During some thinking I decided 'WTF, I don't want p6, I want p10 and get rid of these kg's' so I made my pit, let my team mate pass without any trouble (although he would have got past anyway I bet xD) and then coming up to the finish line I braked to let some guys past... Some tactical play :P

Yeah I agree deko, it wasn't until today I realised that maximum of 13kg could be deducted.
I'll obviously keep racing the league, I guess some more pre season testing can be done for next time to try and find some 'happy medium'
The amount of kg's is not the problem, I will complain the car is too heavy even if there was no kg's :P
What I'm complaining about is the reduction in kg's even after a bad round. With 30kg it was really hard to get into the lead, so after a terrible round with 45kg your still gonna have to have another hard round with 32kg.
Eg: 45kg, bad race. Then 32kg bad race. 19kg, ah I can compete again.
I just think that the reduction in kg's should be changed, 13kg isn't a lot to lose after a bad race and it will take 2 bad rounds until your able to fight for wins again. I think if your gonna have a bad race you can lose 20kg, and the more kg you have, the more you have to lose. Atleast that's how I feel about it anyway.
Ok so basically i thought i would post this here... I am having to use 45kg, and even if i do a really crappy round which is highly likely its still not even going to benefit me as the MOST i can drop is 13kg. That is still giving me total of 32kg which lets be honest, is still making it very hard to even get to the front.
After a good race you can add like 20kg's so how is it possible that you can gain more than you can lose. Its just turning the league into a tactical league instead of a racing one. Something needs to be done here, its not even worth while if your going to be burdened with constantly above 30kg's every single round since the best you can hope for is a top 6 and even if you did that it means you get even more KG's until its gets to the point where you having so much KG's its not even possible to be at the front.
I thought the whole point of the KG's was to even it out... Even with the 30kg's last round i was at a loss but it wasn't so bad. Now its gone so far that its costing me over 1second a lap and taken me from a front running into a mid fielder...
