Pretty awesome race for me, qualy went as planned and managed to get niki off pole and take it for myself.
Race was always going to be about tyre management for me and noticing that people around we're me using higher cambers I knew the heat peak would hit them hard. It was close with me and niki for about 3 laps then he just dropped off and crashed or something, anyway nothing else really happened for me... Had a 32+ second gap to niki in p2 then SC car came out. Also got fastest lap so I'm happy.
Next round should be fun, cya there!
Yes because I love leading the race throughout an then let you drive past me at the end, the joy. I hoped you would just realise what you were doing and perhaps your brain would trigger and you would back out, eventually you did but my god...
I'm shocked your even trying to justify this, how can you possibly see that what you were trying to do was in any way correct... And then protest me or not letting you do it!? Your mind works in a wierd way, 'no photo shot ey!? Protest you shall get!'
Wow niki, let's hope this backfires onto you...
If you even read the rules the FULL CORSE YELLOW strictly says no overtaking so the fact you trying to arse about for a nice 'side by side' shot just shows how much you read the rules. Talk about shooing yourself in the foot!
And yes of course I'm going to move over on you, your trying to get past me under sc for no reason, although I love the part you added about staring the pit wall right between the eyes, close shave that one was...
I hope YOU get penalised for this, what an absolutely mindless thing to do and then try and blame me for your lack of knowledge or how you put 'sportsmanlike' behaviour...
And sure I understand you like the realism, but surely the driver side isn't one of the factors that would ruin that, take BTCC, some use left side, other right. As far as im aware there is nothing stopping them changing between races :P
Niki, if the sim was about realism there would be only a fixed cockpit view, lets be right, its not about that.
Think of the plus sides, now when people beat you, you can still blame it on the driver position/view like normal, if they fixed it, you would have no excuses
But seriously, no.
EDIT: Just seen your post niki. In UF1 driver sides can be worth up to .4 ive found, on tracks such as FE1 etc. In TBO ive never seen such an advantage your speaking of, infact .1 would be the absolute maximum IMO. The cars are just so heavy that its no real gain, and left be right, the tracks we are going to run on will be longer tracks, with a mix of left/right turns which would balance out any of this 'advantage' your speaking of. The main way the driver side works is on tracks where there is far more of one particular direction of turn, like FE1, SO1... But then you can look at tracks such as BL1, you would think driver on right would be faster but its not, even with the STD cars left side is just as fast. Its all just in your head/over exaggerated slightly :P
Bad idea Niki, I don't see why this should be something that is restricted. I change my driver position all the time, but in the TBO class it doesn't have a noticeable effect. Maybe in the UF1, sure, it has a huge effect but these TBO's are pretty heavy so not much use.
None the less its still a stupid thing to try and stop people doing, if its going to get this intense where your going to try and stop anybody having a tiny advantage we might as well use fixed setups as well (sarcasm for the last part)
TBO in BTCC style format, means more people can participate because sometimes the smaller teams can struggle to get a team together.
@Deko, maybe it's worth doing a iTCC test race, to prove to you that we can race without the pointless crashing. I think it's clear loads of people want to race it, atleast give us the chance to show you how it can be done his time around!
@Phil, well yeah, I have a GT2/GT1 setup for nearly every combo and along the line somewhere I will have race it. I mean it doesn't get easier, no, but it doesn't take much time to get the hang of it again etc so not as much prep is needed and stuff. Basically something fresh is what I want weather it be UFR/XFR or road cars, anything new and not over used.
@Fram well basically we look at LFSCART this season, Isaac has been the quickest on each round with some ease, though it hurts me to say... and it just shows because nobody can really match that sort of pace and I doubt he is putting in as much effort as previous/other leagues. And by top guys I mean the usual guys. Basically the 'same old' leagues have no real competition compared to a season or two ago. Maybe with something fresh we can see new drivers at the top and some motivation for people to prepare and get motivated.
I know that if I was to race in GT2WS or LFSCART I would barely practice at all because chances are I already have a setup, driven the combo god knows how many times... Takes the fun out of it really.
But of course I'm not saying the current drivers/teams are crap or filling up ego's but in my view races are easier than before in terms of competition due to the things stated above
I don't see why you would want to use GTR cars to 'train' drivers. And plus its just boring, im sure you have a setup for every possible combo with the GT2's and GT1's which = no point to even put in any effort. Crap grids, crap pace...
Look at LFSCART, there is no competition in that class, isaac will pretty much walk those races if it goes his way, and then you look at last season where the competition was pretty high. Its the same with GT2WS, MoE, IGTC and all the other GT leagues.
Something fresh is needed, Road cars give good close racing and not everybody will have a setup for each combo either so there will be some preparation needed. I do like the idea of a minimal training though, it might bring some good pace where there is a few top guys and not just the 1 or 2.
