If its the video i think you're talking about (Long left hand turn, rider falls off, two marshalls go to help, then another bike crash's into them.), he didnt die.
Suffered a lot of broken bones, but was back at the track as soon as he recovered enough to walk again with crutches. Which says a lot about the type of people that love motorsports IMO.
No matter how badly injured we get, the love of the sport, and the adrenaline buzz we get from it, keeps us coming back.
At the end of the day, we all die eventually, its the only thing in life we can be certain about. Theres no point wrapping yourself up in cotton wool all your life, because its not going to save you from the grim reaper.
I prefer making rockets with just a bottle of coke/any other fizzy drink.
For those who want to try it - Remove the lid, and as quickly as you can turn it upside down and throw the bottle straight down onto the floor as hard as possible so it hits the nozzle of the bottle.
When done properly they can go quite high, great fun imo.
Edit - I'll never eat that popping candy ever again. Last time i did (i was about 10), it popped a filling out while eating it and i was in agony until i got to see the dentist.
Closing your eyes and being taken to "another world" aint a very smart thing to do when you're driving a car.
No i dont have any ICE installed on the bike, I prefer to concentrate on my riding, instead of trying to deafen myself by listening to some "phat tunes".
We have deformable cars, which is pretty much the type of system needed to make this, i think.
"All" that needs to be done, is to add this same deforming system used to crumple the cars onto the mud sections. When a wheel travels over it, you deform the "mud" and you make ruts.
For simply visual purposes though, a custom height map would work fine to add some "pre made" ruts onto the track.

Does this image make you want to start drinking guinness?
Viewing a Tobacco/Cannabis/Booze/Mcdonalds advert on a skin will not make you start smoking/eating/drinking more of whatever the skin is advertising if you do not want it in the first place.
Next weeks discussion - Does watching violent movies make you more likely to go shoot someone up with an Ak-47?
