Quote from Töki (HUN) :Yes, kinda boat like, since it was designed for comfortable driving, but still sticks to the road nicely. It's not a gokart, wasn't even meant to be one. I never get tired after hours of driving, I love it. Driving pleasure, you know.

Logitek, since you own an E39 (iirc) I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I don't think there's _that_ much difference between the two models, though.

mine handles like its on rails

EDIT: but yeah, never tired after a long drive, comfortable enough to have as a dd...etc.

such a plain car for a bmw....almost like you wouldnt look twice even if you had an insane obsession for bmw's

but i must ask, does even the (appearance wise) base-car bmw conduct an amazing experience behind the wheel? or does it seem like a normal car even to a car person?

yeah she is skinny, a bit too for comfort admittedly...she does eat.

she spent a week in the hospital as of thursday (out now), because she had pneumonia, untreated for 2 months...turned into something else also. that probably made her a little more skinny...other than that she is just built like that

got the damage estimated, one shop (dealerships go to them, my dad who works at lexus said they are the ones to go to) said 2366$ everything covered.

the one that other dealerships go to, works on merc's all day (mainly a rim shop) said 1500$ out the door, only if i pay cash/check. insurance will make that shoot higher.
he said if i did it without insurance it would be "money the wife doesnt know about" sorta thing.
sketchy sounding, but they work on the high line cars, dealerships go to them, and the price isn't bad at all...i will investigate further.

i go to school with this kid, and see him every day....if it was a 'nice guy' i diddnt know so well i would 100% not be so lenient. i could track him down very easily if i really wanted to. my parents also have something in writing from his that he will pay even though they are not going through insurance (left out from previous details).

I have insurance because i have to, but i have to disagree on the point 'if you have it you might as well use it, because that is what its for.'

Sure it is what it is for, and sure it will take care of it:
you will pay FAR more than what it cost them in the long run when your premiums shoot up for the next 7 years.
you will have the potential for them to dis-continue the coverage you have because they see you as an unfit driver (these are directed towards his insurance)
they always try to give out the minimum possible amount of money, and take the maximum amount of money (past the understandable point) i.e. you have to haggle them alot to get the amount that you will really need for some things (maybe not this claim, but for bigger ones), and they will continue to charge you far past the amount they paid.

a few basic points, there are probably more.

also, if they inspect my car and see the glorified scratch that my dad says is worth $5000 in damage, see that the car itself is worth about $6500, with my luck they will wanna total it out, which is a HUGE headache.

i may be incorrect with all of this, but i have never had to deal with insurance...this is just what i have heard.

Quote from Klutch :never heard of insurance or something..?

well he is under 18 first off, so his payments will shoot so far through the roof for the next 7 years...i am not sure how long he has had his license, but if it is less than 6 months then he loses it if he goes through insurance.
Quote from flymike91 :Don't be such a nice guy that you end up getting the shaft. This is why we buy car insurance.

well the kid is a good kid, and i know him...im not going to pay a dime, but im not going to go to the most expensive place, i will at least shop around to find him a decent price.

if responding to me, it sucks really bad because i know the kid and he is SUCH a nice kid...i really dont wanna ruin him with this.

my spot was taken so i parked 2 over to the right to leave some room. about 2 minutes after i got out i was watching my friend pull in...next thing i knew he was lined up perfectly for my car.

if my spot was clear this wouldnt have happenned...if i was a minute later it wouldnt have happened..later that day after prom i lost my ipod (unrelated)

my car got hit yesterday morning in the parking lot..i was parked and some kid tried to back into his spot but just completely missed and side-swiped me with his f150's bumper

got the perfect angle to get my rear door all the way back to behind the wheel arch. tapped the front door at the very back (excusable). how bad can they typically repair without breaking the bank...pictures will be up eventually.

CDV delete...the diy calls for clamping the hose, unscrewing the valve, and putting the hose where the cdv used to be (not sure the real terms).

my dad refused to clamp the hose because it 'may break', and 2 hours battling with the bleeding the clutch, it is finally done. it is MUCH better

maybe i diddnt make it quite clear enough, i dont own a thrustmaster (or fanatec wheel for that matter), but that is what im getting from this thread...the thrustmaster does everything fantastic, where the g25 does most things great.

not needed to play, but wanted.

a agree with the grass, but may not be easy due to it being a bunch of tiny little....well strips (i wouldnt worry too much, but would help)

the curbs i am fine with, and i understand you cannot change the way they are made.

the sand 'blowing around everywhere' will not be noticed by me if i am actually driving, so dont go too insane

i think it sums up as the g25 is for a driving enthusiast who cant afford a track day every weekend, while the thrustmaster is for the super-rich or for someone who is unable to race for some other reason.

i have a g25 myself, i imagine the differences being minimal, but adding up all around.

i have noticed every time he goes drifting, or every time he goes for a night 'cruise' something horribly bad happens or in this case almost happens...how much of a hint does he need?

there must be some track around?

EDIT: thats a large crowd...how does it not get caught?
was the near miss in a relatively 'thought out' location? in the first 30 seconds the actions are in areas where nothing too bad can happen (except spectators)

it is pretty hard to explain...i wanted one because it was kinda the way to stay out of a cave even though i 'knew' the features and wasn't much more than "ya i wanna be able to do that i guess".

now that i have it, it is amazing being able to do what you can whenever you want. there are a few things that i wouldnt know where to go even with a laptop/computer.
