Hehe, three championships won ATM, maybe four soon ? :P

I believe the guy is quite good and he deserves a tryout in F1. TBH we expected him to join the Renault F1 team, but there is something which is not working good between Reanult and Bourdais, not sure if it's about some sponsor issue or because he was approaching Peugeot at a time and you may know that Renault and Peugeot really hate each other.

The rules are clear: a race shouldn't be stopped because of the rain.
I guess they red flagged it because of too many cars being off track but not because of the rain.
Aquaplanning world championship!

You're talking from a short races point of view. I'm sure, and I know, that many teams will use the XRR for endurance races because of less tyres wear and less fuel consumption.
In expert hands, the FZR and the XRR can compete in short races. Check the top times on our servers, there is not a huge difference, and we are talking about aliens times. But the FZR is already obsolete for long races.
And frankly I'm seeing more and more FXR's these days (because it's easy to drive and forgiving) than FZR's and XRR's.
Maxim I know you're a XRR fanatic, but even if the XRR was the faster GTR I wouldn't drive it.
Because it's ugly and because it's a turbo car.
The FZR is the most beautifull car in LFS to me, the only one of the big GTR's which does NOT have a turbo and at the end it's the most brilliant car in LFS.
Yes, it's a personal opinion :P
When I was hosting a non dedicated server, the string "New guest timed out" is not translated.
When I save a multiplayers replay, the translation is quite funny: "Replay multi sauvegardé - <filename>"
Replay is not translated, should be "Ralenti".
The sentence as it is means that the replay has been saved several times
The word "joueurs" is missing, the translated string should be: "Ralenti multi joueurs sauvegardé".
LFS will be a serious sim, I have no doubt about that. In fact it already has the best physics and car handle of all racing games I've tried.
Maybe, in the future, there should be an enhanced mode, say a kind of 'career' mode, where a lot of things are locked/forced for hardcore racers. But despite of what some think, a vast majority of the licenced users are not hardcore racers and they have bought a game.
So, in my opinion, you can't say to these hundreds of users "thanks for giving your money for the development but now you can f* off, we stay between serious racers only". This won't happen without big troubles, whatever the EULA says.
Both 'hardcore racers' and 'gamers' can live together, it's all about options and the simulation won't be affected in any way
More users = more money = affordable price for everyone.
Yep, but I still believe that the reset as it is now is just useless. It doesn't even teach anything to the beginners except that they can drive like mad, it's not a problem because they have a brand new car each time they reset.
That's why I think that the 'old' reset should be kept as a server option. This is only my opinion.
On a sidenote, why not allowing the (old) reset for the MRT ?
This car has no reverse gear, and in real life you would jump off the car, pull it back on the track and keep on running (to the pits). Just an idea
Yes, same here
Not only better FPS but the whole thing is smoother than before, which is good.
Seriously I don't understand why it bother you so much as long as YOU can use the options YOU want.
You will never join a cruising server and the cruisers will never try to win Masters of Endurance but both drivers can enjoy LFS as well, just in a different way.
Notice that no one complained when the false starts were introduced. There were some little discussions about clutch and handbrake, but no one said that the false starts are a bad idea. The problem with the view is that it's related to the feeling and feedback you get from the game AND it's directly related to the hardware you have. Obviously, the people who are using two or three 19"+ monitors are not playing the same game as the people who are using a 15" single monitor. Well, it's the same game but you know what I mean :P
You got the point
Yes, they are aiming at making a simulation. But this is not incompatible with different ways of using it and with a good business strategy. To me the serious of the sim is about physics first. And I guess that's why we ALL enjoy LFS, hardcore racers or not. Damages, tyres, aerodynamics are examples of the next things to be improved.
The fact that LFS has good feedback and is already used, even as a show, by some famous racing teams, by some famous racers and by manufacturers like Force Dynamics and Frex already proves the serious of the simulation even if it's still in an alpha stage.
From a business point of view there is no point ending up with about 300 maybe 400 hardcore racers who have paid for the game three years ago and who are waiting for a release without giving money anymore. Any further update or version will even be more expensive for each one.

Being quite older than the lot of you, I have run several business in my life and I'm still running one. And believe me or not, bankruptcy can come quicker than you think and all of a sudden. A permanent cash flow is required. If you loose a large part of your customers and/or restrict the customers you have to a specific category, then problems will occur sooner or later in any business.

Actually you are doing it.
I've only given my own opinion and so you already did.
It's because I'm admin on populated servers and with the experience I can tell you who is driving with a mouse/keyboard/gamepad and who is using a custom/chase view only by spectating them (well, most of them).
You may be experienced enough to race using chase view but I'm seeing every day the results of the mayhem caused by people using chase view and who have no idea at all of what is happening around their cars.
But the cockpit view is a FPS killer.
There are more people than you think who are still using 'old' PC's and in this case a wheels/custom view helps a LOT. Read again the dozens of threads where people are so happy to reach the 50 FPS whilst they had 30 FPS before.
Because some people are lobbying about the fact it should be more realistic.
It may look realistic for people who are using three monitors, but there is no way that it will look realistic on a standard 4:3 single monitor.
Still, I believe the option should be to disallow the chase view because it's a dangerous view to use on racing servers (no mirrors, you don't even hear the other cars untill they enter your screen) rather than forcing the use of a specific view, for obvious hardware reasons.
Believe me, I've tried many many settings (Vsync ON/OFF, limited/non limited frame rate, video drivers tweaking, etc), but no way, I still got stutter when someone is joining the track. It's even a bit worse than it was in U30, but it is 'acceptable' though.
I also get a huge FPS drop when a big crash occurs, even one that I can't see yet and that I will discover the results around next corner.
