What if you've just watched a football game with your friends and had a couple of beers. Friends left and there are a couple drinks in the fridge left. C'mon it's not like you are sitting in front of a mirror drinking vodka

Drinking and driving in LFS? Definitely YES! When you had a couple of beers and just want to have some fun pick a combo that you know well and go for it. I noticed extra consistency and lack of speed while being drunk I log out when I notice I'm starting to cause trouble on the track though.

A new track would be great, but 15...? Come on. That would be time consuming and at the moment there are more important things to do. Remember this is 3 guys working on it not 300.
I like how seriously they take adding real cars to LFS. The Scirroco is a good example. Comparing real data to LFS physics environment and then fixing stuff that isn't right. Way to go

15 real tracks, 20 real cars, better environment physics and that's it.

I don't think you fully understand how much work would that be for a team like Scavier.

Well, when I'm lazy enough to not to setup my wheel on the table I play with mouse. I blip the throttle when downshifting and cut it while upshifting I even use manual clutch. Of course it is efficient. When done correctly the car is much smoother and more predictable on the brakes.

Quote from tristancliffe :He's made the typical black-man mistake...

Quote from nihil :Typical black men? What are they exactly? Hmmm, that's right - stereotypes.

Typical mistake and typical black men aren't the same thing. Don't put words in his mouth.
It almost looks like a white person can't dislike a black person because it will be racism. And that's barely equal rights. White people always get accused of racism for nothing. I'd call that behavior attention-whorism or provocation or racism against white people.

By the way, have you ever heared an asian complaining about racism? I haven't.

If you look closely you can notice that there was a contact between kimi and heikki. The ferrari kind of moved sudenly which didn't look normal. LH braked so late that he totally ruined his tyres. That doesn't happen often does it? He just braked later than KR no matter what. Does he deserve a drive through for that? Don't know. It was a very dangerous hotshot kamikaze move and other cars had to avoid him by leaving the track. Stuff like that happens but IMO this was a bit more than the usual mistakes at T1.

FM and LH incident. Massa went wide and Lewis could take the inside line in to the first turn but LH didn't leave any space for FM in the second corner and he was outside. If FM didn't go through the grass he'd hit LH much earlier. In fact you could say LH would hit FM much earlier because FM still was alongside and he was at the edge of the track so only way to avoid contact was to stop but nobody does that when they are racing do they? I'd say a racing incident when nobody wants to give up.

Massa - Bourdais. That penalty is a BS. It was Felipe's fault. Well, mostly. But he was the one who spun and by the footage of onboard camera he might have thought he'd overtake Bourdais by the apex. I'd say a drivers mistake. I wouldn't penalise Massa for that but giving a penalty for Bourdais?

Heidfeld impeded Barrichello and that's a fact. But he had no where to go to be honest. Pit entry is as stupid as it can get. The only thing that's a joke is the track (Tilke included) and yes, we can blame it. It might be an exciting race because of crashes and stuff, but that's really not what makes a race "a good race". Sutil got bruised while driving because the track is so bumpy. I mean there should be more strict requirements for the track and not only Behrneis "YES" or "NO" when he thinks it's going to be profit or not.

Is it worth it? Depends on how much fun it'll be or what you want to achieve by doing it. Is it just to be a race car driver because you want it and most likely would like it?

I've been racing karts mostly but i've tried rallyX for a couple of times and some time attacks on snow and dirt with both car and a dirtbike. All i can say is that every cent i spent on this 'hobby' was very well worth it. Had tons of fun, adrenaline and experience. ...oh and the stories you can tell your friends afterwards

What? A petition? Wth... What's next, people start blocking roads just like when fuel prices went up?

I seriously doubt that a bunch of 100% biased fans expressing their opinion can change anything in such situation.

Bourdais had no where to go. It was the last corner and he was about to start his lap. I'd say it was a mistake to give the penalty

Quote from arco :Update: Softening the suspension stiffness seems to help getting it closer to Y lap times, and more consistent similar times. 46.09 as of now.

slightly different car needs slightly different setup

last week i've been messing around with XRT, building setup from scratch. So i knew exactly how it behaves before Y30. Now when the patch is out, car's balance went a bit to the front so i had to adjust rear suspension a bit to have that planted front end and a bit loose rear end again. And now it feels like there's more overall grip. I can put power down earlier and the car is more predictable and controlable. It should make XRT more popular and of course faster if it's in proper hands.

Quote from Almadiel :Personally, I think the real problem is that things like mouse steering and driving aids give benefits with no balancing downside. Take auto clutch for example. I have no problem with allowing it, but it should be conservative. The way things are now, auto clutch is equivalent to near perfect clutch and accelerator technique. It should be above average at most.

And obviously, you don't have to fight a mouse the way you do a FFB wheel. Maybe they should simulate resistance in the mouse by slightly reducing sensitivity when there is a lot of steering force opposing you, that way you have to jerk the mouse quickly just as you would a wheel to steer at the same rate, reducing accuracy a little. As it is, I feel the only tangible advantage I have over mousers is spin control.

Basically, it isn't right that using better equipment and more realistic control settings places you at a competative disadvantage no matter how skilled you are (not that I am, but I still want a level playing field, and I don't want to have to use arcade like settings and pick up bad habits). Failing that, servers should be able to disallow such control settings.

Not all wheels have three pedals. I use auto clutch because my wheel has only two pedals and making auto clutch slower than it is wouldn't be fair. I think after improved tyre physics mousers will get hard time controlling the spinning rubber. Since spinning the wheels isn't slow or bad except for overheating but you don't get much problems with that in a sprint race.

Leuis Hatemelol himself does enough to be disliked even without the interuption of media. It's enough to see him on the track and/or hear an interview right after a crash or a podium win. For now all he's able to do is hotlaping. I wonder how he'll do at French GP

I hold the wheel quite tight but not too much and i use a lot of force feedback. It's fun that way so after some racing my hands start to sweat a bit. Still it's less physical than driving a kart not to mention that only your hands are working and not the whole body like irl. My breathing is consistent while i'm playing LFS. Same with karting of course when it gets quite hot out there i start to breath faster and a bit deeper. No idea why would one be gripping the wheel so hard to start getting some kind of damage. Especially when using low force feedback i mean it's not like you are not sure if you'll be able to make it through the next corner because your hands are starting to go

i'm lovin' it!
