No i am not complaining about slow progress. Not in any way tbh Making a solid and stable platform is very important for future updates.
I'm just trying to say that an average user may find it a bit disappointing. Some graphic improvements or similar compatible stuff would be nice.. But it seems that there isn't going to be much
Patch Q wasn't a big blast too. Some fixes, multilanguage support.. and stuff. But then came april with the Patch U i find this situation similar. It's like preparing the soil for the crops
Try hearing your engine idling at 200kph irl... Tyre and wind noises are way too loud. In most road cars even engine reving at 5000rpm (and while doing 200kph) the engine sound blends out between others. It's just too silent compared to other noises.
That wasn't the point The point is the difference between sitting on the sofa and driving a racecar. While you're playing some sim there is no G forces you have to fight, there is no fear you can feel in some corners (or during high speed). It takes lots of practice to become good and master things to the level where you are concerned about yourself enough to not to be frightened of high speed, an incoming wall (at the very end of a long straight for eg.) or some corner which you exit at the very edge of the track and there is no safe zone (just like in a street circuit). The gp2 cars have nearly 600hp and they achieve 200mph. There is no living rookie driving something like that
VIP: Being lazy isn't an excuse at all. It's like killing someone on the street and then saying "i was lazy to push brakes". That just doesn't work.
Well on the other hand if you can't control the car (obviously not all of us are natural born racers) even if you are trying hard it's another thing. Then you should just pick something that is easier to drive, something that suits you better.
And of course expecting a 500hp single-seater not to spin it's wheels on the corner when you floor it is just optimistic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9s-R4HgZA0 <- this one is a good example of showing how does computer games differ from the real thing. And next time i hear you talking things like "they are rookies" i'll stab you in the face. That is just a huge disrespect to what those guys have achieved:slap:
In real life it is WAY easier to feel the car and as you put your foot down you can exactly tell how much it is left to the limit. Yesterday i've participated in a karting event. Everything was quite fine until the rain started and it didn't stop untill the end of the event. It was extremely slippery and it was vital to be progressive with the throttle to not to let the back step out too much or even spin (by the way thx to wet and changing conditions i managed to overtake 4 guys). In LFS there are ways to know and feel your car. Listen to the tyres and try to feel the control you still have. You just need more practice with that setup/car combo. So you can exactly tell if your car will spin if you put it down or will it not and you'll make it through the corner
Hello, i've been trying to get analog throttle control and digital brake control while using a mouse. No results so far.
Is it possible to assign brakes on a key while throttle is assigned to mouseY?
thx
[edit] that would be a huge help for mouse drivers as they could control throttle. Assigning throttle/brk axis on mouseY just doesn't work because after a straight where you have to release the throttle and apply brakes you must move the mouse quickly for a 'great' distance and it is quite hard to keep the wheel straight. Except of course maybe there is an option to change pitch and yaw sensitivity. That'd work too (well at least it would make things easier)
Too bad in LFS you can't actually feel what it's like to be hit, people would become more careful after getting some 'bumps'. That instant shake inside your body simply makes you remember that mistakes leading in to a contact can never be comfortable
just thought this is not worth a new thread and isn't really offtopic
check these replays and express your opinion,
was it my fault or not. I often save replays with such accidents when i'm sure i did nothing wrong but people keep telling me otherwise
btw, plz no 'zomg noobz0r fox on asclub' i actually love racing touring cars but there aren't much populated servers so..
(notnice.mpr - accident at the first lap, no need to watch all race)
(foolstart.mpr - next race starts and the same guy swerves at me)
A very nice and sensible post Setu. This community needs drivers like you are
And what about separate licenses for road cars, single seaters and the GTRs? And even the subclasses like S1 which would let you drive the MRT5 (S2 for the FOX and so on) that may be not the most realistic but it can be a way to prevent new drivers jumping into the BF1 and ruining races (not on purpose maybe but still the result is the same.. )
XRR Power!! o//
I love to drive XRR against other GTRs because the cars aren't equal.. And they should never be equal, not in the way they are now tho as the FZR is the fastest in every situation.
It's quite fun to beat FZR with XRR when you know that your car is way slower. But that only happens when you fight a driver with way lower skill.
It is really annoying on the slow corners as FZR blasts away and you are sitting still waiting for that turbo to start spinning
fox isn't really powerful but still it's a very popular car. It's fun on tracks with tight corners. F08 is kind of similar thing, you just need to find the right combo... which isn't hard at all. I enjoyed it on bl gp, i found it fun on so town long, tryed the ky gplong today which was interesting too. Maybe that's just because i love that car
There are servers running F08 combos but it seems they are empty most of the time except for those 3 racers who join them from time to time..
I mean, c'mon this car is fun to drive. I like it's raw power, no traction control or anything. But since there isn't any populated F08 server i have to stay offline and have fun alone... which isn't that fun after all
so is there an answer to the question why it isn't popular?
