Quote from tinvek :anyone remember piquet and salazar at hochenheim ?

You bet, Salazar is my countrymen!
I even interviewed him for my college magazine last year. Really nice guy.

Quote from ArosaMike :To be fair a lot of touring car style racing is like that. Anyone here watch the first couple of seasons of the SEAT Cupra Championship? The problem with those things is you get a few really good drivers and then some who are complete pay per race people who are kind of good, but have no idea how to race anyone.

Anyone else notice the huge amount of grip that caused that one Civic to bouce of the road? He got it sidewise and the thing just started hopping on it's rear wheels. Not sure I've ever seen that in anything else other than a kart!

Try reducing all the stiffness on the XFG 's rear suspension then take a fast corner... :uglyhamme

Quote from AdamW :Well, I took everyone's advice and found a nice simple starter - was playing the first track with the GTI in a three car race. I kept second place for five laps, lapping between 1:36 and 1:39, then got a bit too far over the rumble strip in the last corner and ended up on my roof! Was fun, though. Time for lunch then I'll give it another shot. I didn't smash anyone else to bits or get called a noob, though, so must have been a success.

Trust me, it was. My first races on the demo... everyone wanted me dead. Still some do.

Quote from mrodgers :Er, I believe both of those were "beyond outdated, more like a dinosaur" when you say you built them . My Pentium 75 mhz was outdated in 1995 when I bought it.

Probably right.

I've never had much of a budget to deal with, so that's the best I've been able to do. Still, my 486 ran Duke Nukem 3D, and even Age of Empires! And that was good enough for me.

I've had 2 computers, both built from scratch. A 486 DX4 back in 1997 and a Celeron 633 back in 2000, which I've modded. Now it has a Pentium III 900, 512 RAM, Radeon 7500 DDR, DVD writer and a nice, silent case.

Still, it's beyond outdated, more like a dinosaur! But I'm not so sure about upgrading it, I have no reason to do it besides LFS, since I only do the basic Word-Firefox-Windows Media Player-Messenger thing and my budget isn't too good.

If I do it, I'll do it from scratch. Cheaper, and I get to see every single component that will go inside, so I don't end up with a crappy memory or something like that.

-A sports prototype.

-An early 80's turbo Formula 1 car.

-Some sort of exotic car. McLaren F1 like. Gobs of power, but still a road car.

-A RWD car to compete with the UF GTR and the XF GTR, with slicks and no aero.

-A muscle car perhaps? Obscene torque, but nasty handling.

That sums it up, I guess.

The Istambul Park track is GREAT!

Yeah, designed by that sorry-ass excuse of a track designer called Hermann Tilke, but he did hit the nail on that one. The track has lots of overtaking spots, plus the 8th turn is gonna drive most people mad (it has FOUR apexes and in F1 cars they drive it flat out!)

It has NOTHING to do with the boring layouts of Sepang, Shanghai, or the new Hockenheim-Nurburgring designs. It's much better than that.

So it would be a good addition.

Why!? Don't you guys do that one in like 55 seconds?

I'd do the Aston/Kyoto Grand Prix layouts all day long.

Same here.

On the XFG the locked differencial used to be killer. Grippy and smooth and all that. Now I'm getting massive oversteer at corner entry, even if I'm uber-careful with the throttle, and doing some very early braking, so it's a no-go.

I'm using the clutch pack now.

If someone posted a replay of the BF1, for example.

Would it work?

Quote from spyshagg :some qualy cars reached 1600hp... bmw engines i think

I did a bit of research on that. Some of the BMW engines were supposed to do over 1400 HP... crazy numbers.

That thing would do 250 mph easily I reckon.

Quote from Blackout :The most boring race so far. The track seems to be crap for any kind of good racing, there wasnt singe overtake in the race! And watcing Schumi and Alonso driving behind each other wasnt that exciting because it was clear its impossible to overtake. The best parts I think were when that who ever it was rolled the car in the first lap (not his fault), and second good part was when Hondas lollipopman was too busy with Button's pitstop.

Actually, there was ONE overtaking move. Mark Webber overtook Kimi Raikkönen at turn one, and it was a pretty ballsy move.

Yuji Ide tried to overtake Christijan Albers, but we all know how it ended...

totally stunned me for 20 laps.

Which ones, if I may ask?

Malaysia was duller IMO.

I kinda enjoyed the race, gotta admit.

And about Albers' flip... damn! I hope Ide gets the axe. Stunningly slow and a danger. illepall

I'd never seen an alpha project of a game appear on an Intel ad.

But yeah, there's lots of stuff that needs to be taken care of, still. Time will tell, but I do have lots of faith on the devs. They've done a terrific work so far...

Now I want my S2 license! =(

I agree with TagForce. In fact, the FIA is doing everything to lure the manufacturers away. They're all in for independant teams with manageable budgets, not the crazy ass sums of cash you see in teams like Toyota. illepall

Hopefully from 2008, Formula 1 will become a better 'place'.

Good point, Tris.

Still, if there's a TweakS2 thingy later on, you could just add the HP to the BMW and test it for yourself... crazy, I tell you. illepall
