Another bigger oval would be cool. IIRC, the Kyoto Oval is really short and has a certain shape. Another oval like Indianapolis (wider corners, wider track, longer straights) would be awesome.

Save your cash, and try to update to a newer platform. It isn't worth to buy an AGP card nowadays. In the long term, it will be better to save and do a whole upgrade.

By the way, that HD LCD TV sounds beyond cool.

Quote from Knight_Atack :Montoya turned down a Williams offer? I guess he doesn't want to F1 anymore. Will be amusing to watch him in Busch Series though.

But if Williams offered him a contract... Who are they kicking out? Webber? Uhmm

Yeah. Webber will probably be heading to Renault (filling the spot of Alonso next to Fisichella) or Red Bull Racing, since they'll probably be getting Renault engines next year. Remember that Flavio Briatore is Webber's manager... and that guy sure knows how to do a good deal!

I wouldn't call that kicking out, though. More like letting go. Smile

You mean the McLaren or the Red Bull?

Quote from GWADanny :Yeah i thinks its gay that they have restricted the engines to give the lower budget teams a chance. But the good teams are still battering them. The cars are faster than last year and they are restricted so that has done nothing

If anything, the Super Aguri cars aren't NOWHERE as slow as the Minardi or the Arrows compared to the competition.

-1.

It wouldn't add much challenge to the track. And if anything, that chicane adds some overtaking chances on the big turn after.

It COULD be an Historic layout, but then you'd have to add/remove something else too. And the Blackwood enviroment looks pretty tight already... doesn't look too modeable to me. See how's even some buildings near the track?

As with most Inferno setups, what I do is stiffen the front antiroll bar a bit, increase tire pressures and reduce the camber.

A stiffer front ARB will give you a tad more understeer, which will make the car feel more solid. Same about the camber. Plus, the Inferno setups are with world records in mind. You don't want that kind of setup in a league, they will butcher your tires.

Good luck!

Quote from Scawen :Thank you Marty.

Here is one example of a request which is on-topic, compatible and has not already been said before on this thread.

Anyway I think I have a better idea for this, because the "new colours" button, skin not being visible for selection, etc, is confusing for beginners and also annoying for experienced people (too many clicks needed to see a new skin).

How about if instead of a list of "colour files" there would simply be a list of relevant skins in that left column. When selecting a skin XRT_ABC for example, LFS would try to load a colour file XRT_ABC.col. If not found, it would simply create a default one, for you to change the wheel colours or whatever. The colour files would be automatically created. The good thing is that any skin added to the skins folder is immediately selectable. You don't really lose anything, apart from the ability to have multiple colour schemes for one skin, but I don't think that's really needed.

That would be nice! It took me some time to realize how to change a skin... Besides, it would be much easier and faster for us to use. Me likey.

All good so far on the patch for me. The frame rate is the same, but then my PC is very GPU-bottlenecked so I wouldn't expect something else.

I do have a little idea for a future patch: Enabling a rename the paint-skin schemes? Since we can rename the setups now... I'm missing a 'rename' button on the left side of the Garage screen.

Thanks for your work, Scawen! You kick unprecedented amounts of ass.

Anyway, what's the point of cracking to S2 if you can't join online servers? "Woohoo, look at me, I'm beating the AI"? illepall

Quote from Shinanigans :lol that's what i was thinking

Almost ALL Ferrari's are mid/rear engined.

Ferrari only have 2, and are currently considering building a 3rd front engined car.

Unless you classify "mid engined" and "rear engined" differently? As far as im concerned, if it's behind the drivers seat, then it's a rear/mid engined car and they both have the same meaning.

Mid-engine: The engine is between the driver and the rear wheels. Example: Acura NSX, F1, RAC car of LFS. Very responsive, balanced handling.

Rear-engine: The engine is outside of the wheelbase. The Ferrari/Porsche hybrid in LFS and it's GT version have a RR (rear-wheel, rear-drive) layout, and some Porsches are like this too. They benefit of having crazy acceleration (since a lot of weight is ON the drive wheels) but they also suffer of the evil, feared 'snap' oversteer. You think you have the car in control on a fast turn, and suddently the rear skids off! The weight of the engine induces this behavior.

Hope this clears up any doubts.

Quote from Bawbag :Pretty sad but funny at the same time.

How many new wr's will we see now, all of the newbis coming in with their 32's lol.

Qualifying on Bl GTi means nothing anyway, as soon as your on the straight you will get past, or even a corner.

If this was on a track like South city it would mean more.

So true.

I do believe, however, that usually the guy on pole at BL GTi has little to lose... but the guy who starts 2nd is a sitting duck at T1. I always overtake those by the outside...

A muscle car. You know, heavy, big block, gobs of torque, badass acceleration, evil handling and all that!

That would definately sell me on S2 and a wheel.

Becky... do yourself a favor and leave this discussion.

I'm on your side on this one. But you won't win a thing by keep discussing. It's a I'M RIGHT vs. NO I'M RIGHT game here. Let the mods handle the case, and keep recolecting replays... just in case.

Quote from bahrain :The fact of the matter is, i wouldn't come here crying 'cos some idiot kid on the track followed me.

So, because you wouldn't complain and someone else does, that person is an idiot, crybaby, whiner, etc?

A bit egoistic if you ask me. If you don't take seriously (good for you!) what happens inside a server... well that's your way to go. But don't expect others to be the same... most of all if the 'other' belongs to the opposite sex!

Quote from Blues :

No, real tracks (circuits) cost to much to license, so the tracks in the simulator is just "fantasy tracks", but I read somewhere that they have all been inspired by real tracks.

Yeah... the Kyoto GP has some sections that are very very similar and others just identical to the layout of the Suzuka Circuit, which currently hosts the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix. Check this video of Ayrton Senna doing a qualy lap in it... can you spot the similarities?

Quote from BrandonAGr :There is a block messages button for a reason, stop drawing attention to yourself and you wouldn't have a problem. People are ****s to other people all the time, why do you deserve special consideration? Not that I want to come off as rude, but it seems like you are just attention whoring with this thread as much as the people who you say are stalking you.

Because the guy isn't just harassing her on the chat, he's following her on the track, and ramming her off at times. Certainly no LOOK AT ME attitude here.

Quote from Forbin :Perhaps, but only due to the fact that new memory (DDR2) and a new video card (PCI-E) are required for Conroe. If that were not the case, the price/performance ratio would definitely be in Conroe's favor. It's that much faster.

As I said above, $300 Conroe = $1000 AMD FX-62.

Should have mentioned that on his scenario it would be better.
