Quote from lazer21 :IMHO, you should shut your trap..

By you Chupa ment demo people telling stories (lies) about how they can access S2 content. You, Lazer, obviously have S2 license, that's what it says under your user name. Chupa was asking the OP to log in with his "S2 account". Way to get winded up for nothing

Quote from SRR Marty :Fern Bay originally used colors to name their circuit configurations. so my suggestions are:

FE8: red
FE9: blue
FE10: silver
FE11: white

(based on the 1st post by PMD)

..more suggestions probably to come later

But colors tell nothing about the tracks. That's why I think it's better idea to use existing track names as much as possible.

Good news

Quote from vistaman :I second that. Example are fully painted Red, at 170. I have some suspension damage, drive into pits (Tire change at 90%), and want to repair the damage, it also changes the tires.

Could you make a option to set the Tire Change on Never?

It shouldn't be changing tyres, if they are just overheated. You wouldn't be drifting for long with less than 10% wear to go anyway. But I agree with the no tyre change option...

Quote from a-k-m :
With trail braking you mean progressively release the brake while approaching the apex, no?

That's correct.

Quote from a-k-m :
I've been trying to brake later and hit the brake harder. The problem is, that the car tends to turn into a drifting position. But drifting is no good for fast laps. What do I do wrong?

When and how do you hit the brake... Before, I braked and down-shifted almost simultaneously. I thought the combination of the motor-brake and pedal brake would be the fastest way to stop. But I saw some others that downshifted when the revs were already really low.

Go on the brakes fast, but steadily. If you hit the brakes too hard, you will upset the cars balance and it's difficult to recover without drifting. Trail braking should help to keep the balance, when releasing brakes.
In LFS you can set the brake pressure so that you get the maximum out of brakes, so no need for engine braking. Also blipping the throttle on downshifts keeps the tyres from spinning, but I think only LX6 is affected much by this.

It is amazing... the more you play lfs the more you realise how many details this game takes into account!

It really is

When I swapped my MOMO Racing to G25, I started mis-shifting.

Demo users are required to have an account novadays. You can use that forum account, I think. You may have to set game password at lfs.net.

@Bean0: That did the trick. Thanks

Works fine so far expect one thing. In 3.6 you could write something to address bar, hit enter and Firefox used google's 'I try my luck button' to go straight to the site (I quess ). That was very handy, but FF4 goes to google with the same method.

Anyone know how to enable that feature?

I don't think there's endurance races for TBO, but it might be more even then. But RB4 is also hard on tyres and generally slowest in the class.

At least on standard 10-15 min races, the class is better balanced with 3% intake restriction for FXO.

Quote from jnr89 :hey, whats up?, i was checking out the W.R. chart and just see how close are the RAC, LX6 and the FZ25, i think they are closer in terms of lap times than the TBO combo..

my question is, is not unfair to race with this 3 cars combo (RAC/LX6/FZ25)?

And this combo has a name or something?

It's called LRF class as the first letters of each car. They are pretty well balanced. LX6 is fast on corners, but lacks top speed. FZ50 is the opposite and RAC is something in between.

Yes FXO has always been way ahead of the other two cars in TBO class.

I watched the WRs and can't really see the problem. Both had their tyres at optimum temperatures during the fastest lap.

If you mean heating the tyres up to optimum temperature, that's far from arcade...

So where is the problem?

Quote from stuntguy3000 :The thing is that I only just know what you mean. I wana know how can you Can learn InSim. Is their a bunch of tutorials? If their isn't It would be cool if someone went to the huge effort and made a whole bunch of tutorials for like YouTube for example.

Well, the thing is that before you can code an insim application, you need to know at least basics of a programming language. Otherwise you just end up as another forum insim "developer", who take an open source cruise project and edit a line of text or appereance of the user interface and claim to be good programmers . Without knowing how to program, that's really all you can do.

There are lots of tutorials for any programming language, it just takes time to learn properly. With some skill, you can use the API found in insim.txt to code your own stuff to LFS.

Quote from stuntguy3000 :Long Reply From Me.

Anyway.

Please would you (Or someone else) pls show me the code of what you are trying to tell me.

The thing is that I am trying to learn C# InSim Coding and I am grateful everytime someone helps me out. Once I have pretty much mastered InSim Coding I will teach and help others out.

You won't master any programming language in case you're not willing to put some work to it. Dygear posted a very good starting point for you:

Quote from Dygear :Stuntguy, 1. cycle through the MCI packets and 2. find the closest X,Y position 3. to the one your looking for.

1. Use some sort of loop to go through each packet
2. From the packet, extract coordinates
3. Compare the coordinates of a player to your start/finish line

The points need more iteration to work, but basic idea is there. Now go and write the code . People are more willing to help, if you actually come back with some code. No matter if it works or not...

There are plenty of racing servers sitting empty. Multiclass racing and ranks did no good. Somehow "normal" racing got lost after CTRA and others.

Dead Men Racing is a good server with weekly changing combo, 1 hour race on thursdays. Those are always great fun. Even if the server is empty and you join during European evening hours, you usually get company before the ~20 min qualy is over.

Quote from SyNt3K :Dont be a twat! Is that all you could pick out of that? Would you give away 4 hours of your pay randomly every week... don't hype it up like its nothing... money earned should be well spent!

Either way, pretty sure you missed the point!

What are you on about? There wasn't much more in the post of yours.

Money hard earned should be well spent. I agree. How is it not well spent, if you have driven almost 70000 online kilometers and counting? All that for 24 pounds. LFS is a bargain for a driving simulator. Just look at iRacing, if you want constant updates. Of course that comes with constant payments to cover the expenses of large team.

I went from G25 to DFGT after the former broke down. Was also thinking Fanatec, but the price was too steep for my current drivings.

Compared to G25, the wheel itself is very similar in DFGT, but certainly louder. Paddless are bad as they are actually small buttons and not flappy paddless.

I'm still using G25 pedals and never really used DFGT's. The feel in pedals was nowhere near G25's. They felt loose and irresponsive. No clutch pedal obviously.

For the price, DFGT is very good. I don't know if there any real alternatives under 100€ price range.

HDDs have nothing to do with AGP and PCI-E interfaces... Those are use by e.g. graphic card.

Your old HDD probably uses IDE interface. There's IDE interface in your mother board, so you can hook up the HDD straight without any problems.

E: Just to clarify... IDE is an older connection type used for hard disks and CD/DVD drives. SATA is new type of connection for HDDs, which doesn't need that annoying wide flat cable anymore. New motherboards should still have IDE interfaces along with some for SATA drives.

Quote from TehPaws3D :What is system lag may i ask? is that not like FPS drop but like a 1 - 5 second hang in your computer?

Yes pretty much. For me it was maybe half a second of screen freeze and sound looping, once or twice per lap. The freeze wasn't long, but enough to mess driving line, especially while cornering.

I wouldn't call it lag since lag is networking term, rather stutter.
