That is exactly what you have to do. Fixed, many thanks!
Maybe a edit to the main post re this patch is needed for Graphic processors that do not support HVS. When using on board graphics processing that do not support HVS this patch severely limits performance.
I would advise to develop a back up plan for the race day guys and just in case...prepare FRO #4 for race day too, for a plan B, just in case scenario.
As that is twice now a server has unfortunately failed on practice race days and why we had to get a back up ourselves. Shit happens, so plan round it..
LFSCART will move to the #4 server for the forthcoming Oval rounds.
I found totally the opposite to be true. The Oval racers in LFS are some of the most supportive and helpful for new racers i have ever come across, either in the game or the real world.
When i went onto the FM servers for the first time on a Oval ever to prepare for a round of a series our team runs in, racers there helped with advice, serious set ups and how to race Oval. They got us and friends up to speed very fast.
We crashed a lot learning, wrecked a few races no doubt, but where not or never banned and for sure, due to that experience we really fell in love with Oval racing in LFS, its really as good racing as it gets.
Yep this has got to be the focus for sure. But, i think it will increase in numbers next rounds on. Drop those entrants on the first page who haven't shown a ass kicking PM Falke for a start.
New entrant with a safety car crasher on Sunday, rofl.
No need for apologies Falke, i can see the idea and its not a bad one, relatively speaking, lol.
I was disappointed too that there where only 7 of the entrants on the server for the race. I know a few of the entrants are away at the moment and there was a couple of event clash yesterday, so would hope for more at the next round. I know teamplayers said in PM he will be there for the later rounds for instance.
Yesterday was real world F1 day and was also a clash with the GFC league (also running FO8) and maybe we could have looked to combine those two events (as GFC was looking for more FO8 racers recently) which could be a idea?
However, keep up the good work friend, its a good series potentially and has good organization. With its mix of road and oval courses, given time, it will grow I am sure. Being related to the 500 race which is a big enough single event is cool and it has a good future i think.
Having been at a few of the 500 training events i would vote no and to keep them separate events for now.
There is a lot of entrants to the 500 who have neither the laps or the experience of the rules to qualify for the event. That is the point of the training session and that sometimes takes some work.
This in the midst of a race series for league points is not good. LFSCART series overlaps with the 500 main event already and at that point the 500 entrants will all be practiced, just like the CART entrants already are for their series.
They already doing it, have been for some time and all this is, is a way of actually using that information awareness that they have been gathering for years.
FRO have servers with two of the major hosts to insure against such situations. But when your backup plans also start falling over, time to do something ourselves.
Don't worry, LFSCART will have the fastest, most reliable servers we can get.
See you on the servers falke, should be back on tomorrow during the day.
