Quote :On the one side, we have an ex karter (world rotax max champion) who believes the following: High pressure= higher volume of air molecules, therefore more molecules banging into each other, therefore more friction... and therefore, more immediate temperature throught the tyre. All this means the tyre comes on more quickly, but may not last as long.

The other arguement in the team is from a single seater race engineer who says: Lower pressures mean more "roll"/"flex" which creates more friction in side walls etc. This allows the tyre to generate heat quickly and therefore, comes on quickly. Higher pressures allow less roll/flex and therefore, slightly longer to come in but more stability (pronlonged life).

The reply from the karter... Softer temps generates side wall heat and mainly surface temperature which is not what cause a tyre to work, as you need core tyre temp to work, not only surface heat.

Who the hell knows?

Just about any tyre/race engineer.

The heat generated by roll, flex and movement of the tyre is what heats the ''inner core''. This isnt just pressure related as its a critical aspect of tyre design in the design of the carcass.

A higher pressure/over pressured tyre will flex less, so heat less. However the higher pressure tyre will likely overheat the tyre surface and underheat the carcass or ''inner core'' due to increase slide/slip, thus reducing its grip even more.

Unlucky FRO|Tenman - a win was almost in the bag there with a superb drive in both qualifying and race. Amazing speed! some of your best driving so far and very proud of you. Taking pole and then building a early lead most the hardest work was also done without even having to repair damage at your pitstop, looked all under control. I know that slide well, 7/10 they are catchable that was a number 8. Never mind, indeed you will be back. See you at KY on the 1GP server but stunning drive bro.

Round 6..Hard, hard race track. Basically glad its over and looking forward to Kyoto GP and rounds to come they are much better suited to the BF1 car.

Congrats to Wiz on another great solid performance, winning for SR. It is good having you in the series friend, always good racing with you.

Congrats to FRO|Hibex on some hard won points in 2nd. Can't do more than take 2nd on your bad days eh, i know the best is soon to come. Double congratulations on taking the LFSCART FO8 Drivers title and for bringing FRO their first team Championship win.

Big thanks to Deko and NDR, as always superb job done and great event!

Nice one all!

Wow, what a brilliant finish to the season with one of the best passing moves ive seen on the reverse oval when Maissi passed Hibex in the last corner of the last lap. Awesome move Maissi. Hib may say he gave you some room there eh, rofl. Brilliant race both of you!

Congratulations to series Champion Hibex on a well deserved victory in CART 'Season 1 superb driving throughout! brilliant races and some unlucky incidents but always maximum speed throughout the year and a fantastic 2nd place in the series to Maissi, pushing Hibex hard right to the last corner of the series! awesome work. Congratulations also to Brit ORC with consistent drives for the points taking home a 3rd place in the series and completing a FRO 1, 2, 3! awesome performance guys!

Nice to see Matze winning a award as his performances over the last two rounds earnt that for sure, great debut drive on the Oval and unlucky with the rule infringement.

Thanks to Falke for the getting this league going and to NDR for smooth run events as always fun to drive in and making this a great league! It really was enjoyable and think the partnership with NDR should mean a great show in season II.

Cannot wait!

Please also consider the European based FO8 drivers who do not have many league opportunities. The last race showed that many top teams and drivers in the class are looking for well run series to compete in.

Stability of the formula and series would keep on attracting those teams i think.

Certainly did. Many, many thanks to all in NDR for 'being there' and either rescuing or resurrecting two really good leagues.

Quote : Plus, we need some more stuff to do. We're getting a reputation, I'm told !

You where invited by the competitors, asked to stay in control by all the racers. Nuff said.

Thanks guys..

Great!

Really good to see the new series entrants. Some excellent driving from all thanks and nice to see you guys competing in CART series events, nice people so hope to see in season 2.

Congrats to Matze, Thomas and MR B on really great drives for the podium places. MR B coming through from the back over 24laps. Thought that was a particularly nice drive!

Cant ask more really than good organization, driving and racing but..We need a season 2 starting soon. Great thing about the virtual world where its always dry and sunny. Season 2 could kick off soon after Season 1 couldn't it?

Thanks all.

Quote :Qualifiers for Season 1, Race 1
Q2 is now completed! Thank you to everyone who took part. The qualifying session ran for exactly one hour, during which the 35 qualifying drivers put in a total of 989 timed laps.
NOTICE: DUE TO SOME QUESTIONS RAISED, THE Q2 RESULTS ARE CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW.

We have already emailed our top qualifiers, but since we are now forced to review the results, we must temporarily rescind the message sent out. Please bear with us as we review and resolve any discrepencies.

You managed to drop 2 of the finest real racers i've ever had the pleasure of working with in 18 years involved in Motorsport.

With due respect...

FRO|Trismo and FRO|Hibex both have won our 49 Laps BL1 FBM GP on many occasions, both averaging under 14's for that distance, no pitstops, one set of R1 tyres.

Hibex has the most consistent laps in every oneGP round to date, and every LFSCART race to date. He leads both series despite getting S2 only 3months ago as a prize for winning FRO's BL1 FBM GP series.

Are you sure you are searching for the best drivers? and have the tools to be able to identify them? so Trismo makes a mistake with his acct, why would you exclude him due to this if hes met the other criterion?

After a huge pm action, writing to former Gentlefoot Formula Challenge FO8 drivers, and getting some new sign ups, i thought some other drivers might be interested as well to race again, by awarding the best drivers of the last two rounds.

Great idea! good luck to the new series entrants..

The narrow pitstraight guerantees some interesting scenes during the pitstops in the feature race ihis weekend on Sunday, the 20th of July, will be in Aston North Reverse. We are going to have a 20 minute long qualifying followed by a 8 lap long Sprint Race (normal LFS Start). The feature race will be started one lap behind the SafetyCar, Then 24 race laps. You sent this PM to competitors.

In the OP it says...
