6. oneGP Sporting Regulations. The sporting regulations are based upon the clean racers club rules. A standard for LFS competition driving. Therefore they are expected to be fully understood and complied with by all competitors on track during oneGP events.

oneGP is one of the few SIM racing series where money and real prizes are at stake. Therefore the pressure and intensity of the racing will be high. oneGP Group expect clean, professional level driving, conduct and behavior on server as events will be broadcast and post race productions sent to our sponsors.

Be fully aware of the sporting regulations/rules as they will be applied and enforced.

Quote :as i mentioned before. FFB is very good w/ real feel + the modified controller.ini force feedback settings.

Yeh, it really depends on the quality of the modelers creating the mod's.

If you look at the latest CTDP 06, F1 mod, with a modified ini, realfeel and leo it is simply amazing quality of feedback. Way beyond the scope of LFS's limited FFB options. We brought 10 licenses for our team members and it takes some time to set the controller's (there is limitless options) up for sure but once they understood, it is simply another higher level to be honest.

This doesnt apply to all of the mod's for sure, but some are incredible in design depth and quality. Some are crap. This is always the same with open software.

LFS scores very highly in many area's, such as netcode, ''get in and driveability'' without much set up expertise or understanding. Plenty of quality in the demo, etc. For these reasons, its ideal for newcomers to sim racing as it for sure makes things easy. For those seeking more, certain mods in rF can provide.

I think LFS could take some of those things, the real suspension modelling, the quality of FFB (dont flame, as all the experienced LFS drivers we got licenses for, even multi WR holders say the same, despite the weird feeling to begin with) and more accurate Aerodynamics as this would advance LFS racing a lot.

Quote :Or it will take any sporting element that exists in the drivers away and they'll all start making ridiculous dive-bomb attacks

A valid point, as always Storm.

However in other series where there are monitory prizes, this is not a issue. It should not be a issue in LFS. Certainly, to my mind it is far less of a issue than having not suitably qualified drivers being used to fill out a grid and who have little real practice.

Monitory prizes are not that unique in SIM racing and there are other higher profile races where even cars have been won worth 20,000 Euros or more, along with numerous 1,000 euro plus single prize events. To have even a chance of winning anything, first the drivers will need to finish, secondly they will need to race clean and to not be handed any penalties.

We hope the focus will be much more practice and ''professionalism'' in order to bring two cars home, collecting maximum points.

R. Kolz and Falke summed it up well.

Quote :I also wouldnt be too surpised to see it bring a few racers from other racing sims to compete in the series.

This is already happening.

Yesterday LFS saw two new S2's license being brought by a leading F1 SIM racing team. There are other F1 focused teams in SIM racing who already hold LFS licenses, that had previously left LFS and these may well return along with other ''pro level'' drivers that will come.

It is not however just money prizes that will attract this level of team/driver to LFS oneGP racing, but the overall professionalism of the series which is something oneGP group will strive to attain for the teams competing. This will advance both LFS F1 racing and the level of performance needed over a season to collect these trophies, will be high.

Quote :What would additionaly save the quality of the field would be an entry fee.

oneGP group is restructuring, but for this season there will be no entrance fee. Next season, suitably qualified teams will be offered a entrants license in the series which is valid for life, whilst they enter two cars in the series. Teams that prove their worth this season will be offered this license for free. New entrants will have to in future purchase a license, or existing team.

This license will give each team the right to run two cars in oneGP events along with a voice on the board of the oneGP group through the Team Owners Representitive.

This year, this role (TOA representative) will be fulfilled by a experienced ex oneGP racer, elected by oneGP group. Their role will be to collect and represent opinions on all sporting and technical matters and present the consensus of opinion to the oneGP board.

oneGP website is currently being redesigned and Monday night this will be live. That I am sure will answer all questions you may have and the rules, regulations and goals of oneGP for 2009 and beyond will be clear.

In the meantime, should you wish to ask any question privately. Drop the oneGP admin team a email at:

The 4second rule: To ensure the quality and capiblities of drivers racing in oneGP events, drivers will be required to qualify within 4 seconds of the pole position time of any race.

If a driver falls outside this 4 second allowance he will not be eligible to enter the race. This will ensure drivers come to events with sufficient practice and preparation.

Only if one third (1/3) of the total field fails to meet this allowance will it be reconsidered at any round.

oneGP 2009 Rules

2009 oneGP: General Rules and Guidelines.

ONEGP GROUP EVENT GUIDELINES AND RULES - to cover current and future events.

1) Event participation and Start times:

1.1: All team and drivers taking part in a scheduled event are expected to give reasonable notice, using the entry registration system, about intention to participate. This should be done at the very least 24hrs prior to the beginning of an event. Teams who fail to field more than 1 car for 2 or more consecutive events will be liable to penalties and or exclusion from oneGP series.

1.2: All drivers are to keep themselves informed of scheduled event start times, which will be available at from the forum, and will always be set in GMT Time. Failing to attend an event without giving prior notice, of at least 2hrs, may lead to exclusion from future events.

1.3: All drivers who start an event are expected to finish the race to the best of their ability - meaning that retiring due to simply being off the pace of the leaders is not acceptable. Any drivers who do retire without substantial reason may be removed from further races in series and/or be excluded from future events.

1.4: By showing intention to participate in an event series, a driver thereby agrees to adhere to event guidelines and rules.

1.5: All participants are expected to remain on the server until the end of the race. Failure to do so may lead to exclusion from further events.

2.7: It is each driver’s responsibility to be aware and familiar with event rules and guidelines. No driver is to seek to exploit any of these rules to their advantage or to the disadvantage of others competitors.

It is also the responsibility of the team to ensure drivers are fully aware of the oneGP rules. Should a team field a driver who clearly does not understand the rules; a penalty may be issued against both driver and team.

2.8: Any driver found to be using a cheat/hack/exploit of any form whilst on the servers, or while participating in event, will be removed from the server and will face a permanent ban.

2.9: No driver is to block messages at any time, during qualifying or race events. 6th - 3
7th - 2
8th - 1

9) Post Race Appeals

9.1: In the event that any team feels an issue has been missed during a race, (regarding an accident - behaviour of drivers etc) a post race appeal process will be used. This appeal requires the team mangers to provide the following information to oneGP Group within 24hrs after the race, by either email or by making a post in the team owners forums:

[email protected]his e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR APPEAL

- LFS USERNAME FOR ANY DRIVER/S INVOLVED:

- LAP THAT THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON:

- DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:

This will then be reviewed by the oneGP Group, the race director, team owners representative and review group. A decision will be made within, where possible, another 24hrs as to the outcome of the appeal.

9.2: The review process and penalties for post race appeals will be as follows.

Following a post race appeal submission from a team manager, oneGP will review the replay from as many views as possible until it believes it can make an appropriate decision regarding the incident. A post will then be made regarding the outcome as wells as basic reasons for the outcome. This post will be made in the oneGP team owner’s forums.

Penalties for any incident will be classified by the following possible outcomes

- RACING INCIDENT - Equal drivers blame - no penalty

- RACING INCIDENT - with warning

- AVOIDABLE MINOR INCIDENT - Drive through penalty (post race 30secs)

- AVOIDABLE MAJOR INCIDENT - Possible points deduction or exclusion for a set number of rounds
at discretion of race admin.

9.3: When a post race appeal has been submitted to oneGP after a race, all parties mentioned in the appeal will be notified via email, and given 24hrs to provide a response as to their view on what occurred during the incident. This will then be taken into consideration when the review board decides upon the outcome.

10) Driver Names

10.1: oneGP requires all driver names, while racing in an oneGP event, to be in the following format:

- Car Number
- DRIVERS FIRST INITIAL. REAL SURNAME - written in white only.

an example would be: #1 A. Eriksson

11) Amendments and Admin decisions

11.1: In the case of any rules being exploited in any manner, or any particular rule being found to be lacking in its requirements, admin may make amendments, with the intention of closing any "loopholes" or known problems, at any time. This will be made known to all competitors at the time, and details outlining any change will be found in the forum.

11.2: Where any particular rule does not have a specific penalty assigned, the penalty given will be at the discretion of event admin.

11.3: Within reason, a result or race affecting decision may be questioned by a driver, but once a response has then been given by event administrators, the matter will then be considered closed.

Hi Pete,

Well 'oneGP group' will make official announcements very soon.

Some restructuring needs to be done. Silver Arrows, the founder will continue to be involved and will be honorary president of the oneGP Group. Other positions, such as race admin, media control, etc will be announced shortly.

One key thing. There is a Sponsor found for the series.

This will mean a prize fund is to implemented. This will be approx 1'000 Euros for the top 3 drivers in the series. Also, there will be a team prize fund of approx 1'000 Euros for the winning team(s).

There will be other prizes too and in addition there will be real Trophies for the Driver's title and Team's Title winners.

We hope to announce in the next few days details of the live streaming package and commentators. They are pro's and have proven expertise in this realm.

oneGP will also have a team owners association with a seat on the board, which will allow the teams to contribute in all decision making processes in the future.

More details will follow soon Pete.

Best regards, Maz

Quote :Please post your comments, thoughts, and ideas relating to what happened in today's test race.

1. In the formation lap start certain drivers made contact with others which is just crazy. If you cannot even drive off the grid without hitting anyone then you should not be on the grid.

2. It took 20mins from Qualification's end to form the grid for the formation lap.

3. People were being lapped by lap 15..if those people had not been there, maybe the race would have attracted 6 drivers able to make the cut. This must be sorted.

4. Repeated chatting on server by people who have no place being there and a track record of the same.

On a more positve note. Congrats to ERT on a fine debut run in a oneGP sanctioned race, good effort.

Big Congrats to FRO drivers - James Roby, a stunning drive and first podium in oneGP with 2nd place, well done.
Big congrats to Adam, wicked drive (as usual) for 1st, awesome bro

Quote :As far as I know the formula renault was a shot in the dark after one F renault team was for whatever reasons a driver down, so they turned to V1 to see if they could find a driver, but from what I remember (was ages ago right?) That if they were impressed by a drivers performance in the mini they would be allowed to test in the F renault, and if they impressed again then they might have got a drive.

Only with a budget...

FORTEC are pretty approachable people. Pretty clear what anyone would need to bring..
