Insurance becomes even more of a joke, when you pay a £400 deposit and then have to wait upto 7 fricking days before you can buy tax and acutally use the car....
I'm not trying to be rude here, but can someone rename this thread? LFS External doesn't contain any MCI code by default, Only the MCI event handler. Therefor this problem is not with LFS External, but the end user of the library.
I tried getting insurance in my step-dad's name, but stupid Directline refused it. I kinda figured everyone else would too, So gave up. I will look for another car soon, I just needed to get my Nova going to get me from a to b while I find a job.
You have to own a Nova to understand . On the point of 'Sardine can', Nova's are small, but they very cheap on fuel, and cheap to repair. If you don't drive like a lunatic 24/7, It doesnt really matter how big the car is. Also, if you want to take the piss outta a small car, These are just a joke....
You live in no mans land , I went to Cornwall for a holiday week before last. Its all hills and empty land . I will grant you, Nova's arnt best cars, but be realistic..its not exactly worth millions...
I guess QS is right. They just want massive profits, Its the same as the fuel prices now. The company's make billions of ££'s, yet still change us pathetic money for fuel. Sad really...
I don't get...Insurance for people my age group is just pathetic now. I took out insurance on my car today and the deposit was £400, I then have to pay £150 a month there after.....WTF! Thats well expensive. £1595 for a car I payed £285 for. I'm very shocked at that, and tbh, think its kinda unreal. Directline and others wanted around £2000 a year. I have no clue what these insurance company's are currently smoking but that is just stupid. Anyone else have any stupid insurance prices like what I'm currently paying, or is it just me....?
This is true, to an extent. LFS External uses a static array size for converting the MCI packet. Meaning if there is 1 Compcar, or 8 Compcars, You will always get 8 via LFS External. The rest is just rubbish and just isnt used. The only way you can change that, is to write your own insim library.
Edit - Np to the guys who said thanks for the MCI thing.
A good idea, but if its funked TCP packets. They will only need to do it once for the crash to occur. I have also wondered something about this bug, Is the InSim client itself crashing. Or is LFS closing the InSim connection?
If InSim applications are now becoming unstable and are starting to crash on a regular basis, Then this is an issue. I don't beleive many people know how to corupt the TCP packets but it seems only a matter of time. I also don't beleive this will be fixed anytime soon.
I guess all you can do is make your own protection, or just suffer the crash's.
Tbh, I'm not sure If I will ever do one. Mainly because there is no SDK for Foobar that is in C#. I would have to make all the functions myself, and lets just say. That isn't easy..
I'll have a little play with Foobar and see If I can make a SDK for it. Its not a major media player really, So there isn't much around for it(Programming wise). Like I say, I'll have a little play and let you know.
