Quote from Takumi_lfs :He can decide what resolution he wants to play on. If his monitor is 24" he should play on 1920x1200. If he reverts and uses 1680x1050 his screen will be deform or have jaggies.

Yep I play on a 24" Monitor, even dropping to 1680x1050 doesn't really help the FPS

Im gonna get GTA IV today i think, want it mainly for the video editor/online and will do the mission's when im bored

Im hoping i can play it on at least medium.

AMD Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition @3.0GHZ
4GB DDR2 800MHZ
ATI Radeon 4870 512MB

Although i heard that the game doesn't like dual core too much, quad core seem's to be the way to go.

Meh, look's like i might have to stop being a tight ass and order up that new Phenom II

I heard you can't run it on max unless you have 1GB of memory on the graphics card? That suck's.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :No, DX8 can look good, just LFS doesn't have stuff done with it. Magically plonking it into DX9 or DX10 wouldn't change ****ing anything without actual effort to improve the GFX engine.

Yep that's true, although DX8 will limit it a bit.

Anyway i don't think graphic's are the devs main focus right now

Quote from jasonmatthews :You either have a shitty pc or are blind... The graphics are way above LFS, as you can choose to up them to your pc specs. Granted you can do this with LFS, but in LFS you can only choose to make them 486 or pentium II

It's cause LFS is in the dark age's of DX8 i do belive

JakG is right, stay away from cheap-o PSU at all cost's!

They will either make your system unstable or go pop, end of.

A decent branded 450/500watt PSU will handle that system no problem.

I run a Athlon X2 5000+ @ 3.0GHZ and an ATI Radeon 4870 512mb off of a 600watt OCZ PSU - i could run it off a 500 watt but i like a little bit of extra power just in case (Supposed to have 500watt min for 4870).

I got one of these last year and it's been fine for me. Not overtly noisy and powers my power hungry system, and it's pretty cheap for the wattage!

+1 Got it running in my system too with no problem's

Tbh honest with you mate im not going to recommend you anything with that PSU, it just won't cut it :/

The best thing you can do is buy a new PSU such as this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150596

Once you have got a PSU, a simple ATI Radeon HD 3650 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148213 will do everything you need easily and it has the added advantage of 512MB Ram & DX10 - although you won't be able to run DX10 app's very well if im honest.

Im not an ATI or Nvidia fanboy but imho ATI has Nvidia licked up in the budget sector.

Hope this help's mate

LFS only uses one core and one graphic's card too, so alot of your pc power isn't even being used

Quote from McDee :To be honest, I suspect the LFS project may be losing priority in the developers minds. I know it is in mine ...

All the noob's whining on the forum's saying "give me the patch nowzzzzzzzzz!!!" doesn't help im sure. Maybe Scawen just want's this patch to be perfect, especially as the Scirocco is in it

I personally belive they wouldn't give up until S2 went final anyway, if they were to give up it would probably mean S3 would never see the light of day.

Either way im going through an LFS bored patch, been playing netKar Pro alot lately getting ready for the GPC 2009 season.

Im sure i will fire up LFS when the patch do's come out though, although it might be a while until i start playing it reguarly again

Quote from Mattesa ::bananadea

There you go.

Lemme explain why. I think you're confusing LFS's lack of "FF Friction" as being uncommunicative. The steering is too light on all the cars in LFS, and it feels less really dull that way.

In terms of communicating what the car is doing, particularly feeling oversteer start to build up through a corner and then finally breaking loose and counter steering, I think LFS does it a bit better than NKP and way way way better than iRacing.

LFS needs something like FF Friction to give more effort to the steering.

Sound's like a good explanation/idea.

It wouldn't take much im sure to make the FFB that bit better, i just think atm it's one of the weaker point's of LFS

Quote from Napalm Candy :Try that and after say if you have better feeling, because if you say that rFactor FF is better than LFS, or you have a problem with you wheel/drivers or have a distortion perception of reality

Read what i wrote again, i didn't say it was better

I said rFactor with the correct RealFeel setting's can get close to LFS sometime's.

Also it's not my G25 setting's i have checked them before - i just think LFS FFB doesn't allow you to feel the car aswell as iRacing or netKar Pro does
