No. You'd see the relevant information for your pit stop. I was listing it as if you needed everything.
Pit Stops.

I'm curious how pit stops work in LFS? I've done plenty of them. But was wondering if there should be different types of pit stops for different types of cars.

I usually only race Open Wheel cars, Formula One mainly. When I pit it will say Front Tire Change, then Rear Tire Change.. My question is does this mean it is doing front first then the rear? Or in the game world is it all happening at the same time?

In F1 all tires, damage and fuel is done at the same time.

Would be interesting in a Pit Stop on your screen to list all elements that are being worked on. The pit stop style would depend on the type of car your in. F1 car, it all happens at once. Other cars may not.

So I pit on my screen it might say:

Fuel
Front Wing Damage
Front Tire Change
Body Damage
Rear Tire Change
Rear Wing Damage

Now each one that is being worked on would hi-lite in White, once that element of the pit stop is finished it would go grey or disappear. Then you can see multiple things happening at once. You may see Front and Rear Tires hi-lited along with fuel. So you know these things are happening at the same time.

Just a idea, or some variation of this.

Thanks.

I did do a search here and on google and nothing relative came up for me. Googling it I get a lot of discussion about .dds but nothing to help me. Now if I could find a Mac .DDS viewer/editor too. <sigh>

How do I open a .dds for editing? Then resave it for use with LSF again.
BF1 Steering Wheel.

I was wondering how to change the textures on the steering wheel for the BF1? How do I open the .dds files and make a new version?

I'd like to change it for my personal skin, since I have my mythical F1 team using Chevrolet engines, and it looks weird the steering wheel is BMW. Also wanted to change the side grips to a dark reddish to make the paint scheme colors.

I'd try to do it myself, but never known what to do with .dds files.

Yeah I'm tired of people thinking a blue flag is a free ticket. Or shouting Blue flag every second. A blue flag does not mean the car being lapped has to pull over. Slam the brakes, drive off the track, etc to let you by. It means you aren't in the fight with them, so don't fight for position if they get by don't challenge it let them pass.

I'm sick of people scream blue flag on areas of the track there is no place to go slightly off line. Or they bump your back end when your trying to make a turn. Not waiting for the right spot to pass the lapped car. I've had people take me out when I was being lapped yet they blame me for there inpatient's for not waiting for a straight, or clear opening.

I've had it in a FOX race being lapped while I was fighting for position, the leader comes up on me I get a blue flag. I don't have any place to go. I'm trying to get up in to 4th place. Yet the leader, can't wait the 10-20 seconds for the straight away, dives in on me in one of the turns because he feels he is more important, hits my right side, I the turn not to hit him. But his bump slams me off track in to the wall. Taking me out of the race because they couldn't wait for a opening.. :/

Heizer why no shadow layers? I understand in a 3D render it isn't needed, since shadows are made. But in LFS for me it takes away from your great paint schemes when it's missing a shadows that would be there.

Any plans on making 2048 versions?

How do you save camera positions? In AS3 there is one camera I don't like the spot of wanted to change it. I moved it in LFS and it showed in Director the move, but how to I save the position. It would keep putting it back to the default location each time I unpaused.

I remember years ago on SpeedTV they had Semi-Truck races from Europe on a lot. It was kind of fun to watch them doing 160 mph in the rain. lol

In the setup screen there is on/off to display driver in the car or not. Could be the same simple on/off to display on screen tips or not.

Just have a simple on/off switch, like on the left side to display driver or not. Basic example.

Ok thanks. To bad I don't have any 3D software on the PC side other the CMX view. <sigh> Oh well. Can't find anything Mac side to open CMX files. To paint my F1 car had to use Crossover demo to open the PC CMX viewer under Mac.

Couple questions. What are you guys using to open the 3D files from LFS? And what are you using to render? I'd like to render my F1 team paint scheme I made. But using Bootcamp I don't have any 3D software on the PC side. Nothing on the Mac side to open the models. Thanks.

I would like this for learning purposes. Sometimes I don't adjust anything because I'm not sure what it will do to handling of the care. It would just be as if a more experience mechanic was with you telling you. Even after I adjust something I can kind of tell but still not sure unless I make it drastic. Even the best mechanic at one point in there life didn't know what did what and why.

It would help me since I like to make my own setups but not very good at it. I want to make a setup to my driving style not constantly have to relearn to do someone else's driving style. I prefer a stiff car, where as when I download Inferno setups they feel very loose to me. Not my preferred driving style.

So +1 for me.

Tire shine?
neglouseight

Watching the F1 2007 season opener today I taped, it hit me. How come there is no "shine" lay on the open wheel cars tires? All the cars in the real race there tires had a glare on them. Would make it more realistic to have slight shine off the tire, and not just totally flat color.

Heizer, I'm curious why there are no shadow lays in your skins? I really like them, you planning on 2048 versions? Wish i could get tires to look like that in the game.

Question about FOX cockpit. While looking through screen shots on the main set there is pictures of a different FOX cockpit that looked more realistic to me. With a fuel and temp gages. What happened to this version? They are on screen shot pages five and six.

How on the FOX do you check fuel or temp? (Been wondering this for a while)

What is the XBox 360 Controller Driver to remove called in System32?

Quote :JasonJ Glad you got some analog controls on a pad. now BTW: the one I was talking about was a PowerWave PC controller.http://www.myshopping.com.au/PR--506...troler_GamePad They are less than half the cost of a XBOX360 pad.

Like you, my PS2 pad was also too sensitive at first. Even when I had all the settings correct. After I re-calibrated in LFS it worked great !! Options >> Controlls >> Axis/FF (click re-calibrate Axis) Then once done >> Calibration Lock = YES
Everytime you restart LFS - you should move the sticks in max circles and triggers to MAX to make LFS re-recognise the limits of your controller.

Remove Deadzones (on/off )seems to have no effect at all - however because I got a reasonable sensitivity (not very touchy) I dont need dead zones. It tracks centre really nicely.

I use:
Wheel Turn (controls menu) : 90 Degrees
Wheel turn Compensation (controls menu) : 1.0
Analog Steer Smooth (Misc Menu) : 0.70

Try holding the steering stick at about 25% and move that Wheel turn Compensation slider - see the difference? Use a Wheel turn Compensation slider setting so that the wheel turns out the least to get a less touchy turning. (I think it is 1.0)
Do the same with Wheel Turn 90-270 adjustment to see how it affects the steering angle. (You can see the wheel HUD move the steering)

But - make sure you re-calibrate in LFS - thats a big problem for most with this type of controller.

edit: If your adjusting Force Strength, that is the Force Feeback amount for Wheels.

Tried it out, still have the same issue there is about 5 degrees of movement on center. Just wish LFS had some sort of deadband sliders you could adjust.

No matter what I change the center point doesn't seem to change.
