You want to "show off" a virtual car with no costume parts, just paint schemes...? No offense, thats just sad.

What does this have to do with racing...?

No, you're missing the point.. :/ NOT on your name above your car, on the Score Board name only. Nothing to do with your car, or your texture files. (Those you can put the flag on all you want) ONLY on the score boards.

Either way people are using 3 letter initials now, and using colors for flag colors on there name. Why not have a tiny icon of the actual flag to use.

This reminds me of in Grand Turismo and Flight sim's why the car/planes won't damage at all. The actual car company or plane manufacture will license the car, look and name, but it can't show what it would look like in a crash, or simulate a realistic crash in anyway. Now racing sim's get around this since it is not a car the public can buy, so they don't mind so much. And part of racing is the possibility of a crash. Same with air planes, Boeing is more then happy to give technical data (if you pay them to use it) for a Boeing 747 but in the contract it can not "fall apart". It wouldn't boost sales then. lol

DriftStar the RX7 IS a real car so LFS would have to pay to use them.

Hmm my flag idea got me thinking. One yes to have a non country flag for people that didn't want to put there country. Or a tiny LFS logo flag to use. Plus you have the option of not using a flag all together.

Then I got thinking in your driver creation screen under driver name why not have a Team field to put in a full team name? With a expanded number of characters and color code to use. The full "Team Name" would also be displayed on the score board in one of two ways. Either written smaller under the drivers name on it's own line. This would work, but when you have W17 with 32 drivers on the track, the team name would be tiny. So maybe another option where you hit a key command. Like we do now to see licence holder names, not race names. You hit the key command and the score board switches to the team names for each driver. Only while you have those keys are pressed. Letting go of them switches back to the drivers name on the score boards, or on the N menu's. The country flag would still be listed at the end of each line for either driver name or team name when displayed. Then again when you have team name displayed, that driver may have a option that the team field can put in a new flag. So if you are a British racer is on a mainly German team, the flag for the team maybe German, not the drivers Union Jack.

This for me is not about the flag painted on your car, it's a flag that appears next to your name on the score board. Have a flag as a Character in the characters to choose from when typing your name. On my BF1 skin for my mythical team, I do have the U.S. flag right behind my head, it's really small. Would be neat to see the country flag next to the drivers name on the score board. This would be a option not something forced on to anyone. This is no different then when you race online seeing countless drivers with "FRA", "AUS", "GER", "USA" at the end of there name in there flags colors.

Or how different drivers use different characters to make words. Such as Red Line Racing using Japanese characters to make there R's.

Yes I get the HMS thing. But it's for Horizon Motor Sport.

Yep, I'd like it as a option if you want to use it. Not that everyone has to. Right now we have people wanting there country intials. "USA" "GER", "UK", etc, and using the coding for characters to give the characters colors. Why not just have the country flag as a option if the person wants it. I wanted |HMS| Klax USA but the code for characters and colors ran out for me so I can't have it.
Country Flags.

This is purely for fun. I was thinking how when we all post on the forums we have our countries flag on next to our name. It would be fun when you enter your name in LFS, if in the character selection screen there are little flags you can pick for your country. This flag wouldn't take away from the amount of characters you can use for your name, it just added on at the end.

Would be fun when the race resualts come up to see country flag next to player names. I find it interesting see people from all over the world racing together, and it would add realism since in real motor sports the drivers name does have his country of origin flag next to it.

I think Hardcore mode is getting confused. To me I don't believe Hardcore is made up of what controls you use to drive. You can have the best setup for controls in the world, but if the Sim you're playing doesn't remotely behave l like a real car, then it doesn't matter.

I have always been about realism, I've always been that way. I do have my flight Sim HOTAS I spent hundreds of dollars on. I can use that, but a steering wheel I can't, since I can't do the movements. Penalizing someone not because they can't afford it, but literally can't use it is wrong in my eyes.

I also see it as a option I understand it, but then it turns in to Oval Junkies kind of thing, yes there is a track racing BF1's but it's majority of the time a oval sprint race. Which isn't what the car is for. Then you will find servers that want nothing to do with your skill in LFS, but what controls you are mandated to have. So drivers that can't use it, can't afford it, or don't want it are shut out not because of skill.

All the elements that make the game more realistic are all tied to the software. Yes you can have a setup at your house with 3 screens, the best wheel setup you can find. A custom seat, speakers etc. But it isn't making LFS's Physics any more realistic. It's not putting air temperatures, track temperatures. Damage modeling (pieces coming off), part failures, etc.

To me the game engine it what drives the realism. Controls systems are only end user personal realism. Nothing to do with how the game engine works and feels.

I'd like this also, I know I'm not WR quality. But would like to see how I compare to the average lap times for the tip of car and course. Doing 50 laps on a track for your time to count then averaged I think would work.

Quote from Vaillant :1) The milliseconds!!!

2) The False Start!!!

3) The possibility to edit a replay, to save only the lap or the sequence I want.

4) The possibility to create a game in Hard Core Mode if I want to:
a - In car fixed view
b - No helps if not "real"
c - Only wheel-steering (no mouse, joystick, keyboard)

....to be continue....

+1 for 1-b of your post
-10 for C

As some of you guys know, I'm disabled in RL so I can't physically use a steering wheel. I use a XBox 360 Controller for LFS. Bad enough being discriminated against in RL, then having people discriminate against you in LFS too for not being able to use a wheel. :/

+1 I'd also like to see a large break down for each drive for lap tips, split times, etc. This could be as simple as a updated spectator mode I wouldn't mind if it was just full screen over lay over the normal spectator mode. Instead of just in the corner. Only difference is you wouldn't have the setup exchange buttons listed. It would look more like the scoreboard at the end of each race, but showing more info.

I'd like this too. Would like it so in the pits it gives the tracks full name then in brackets the short name. So many times I'm not even sure what version of the track I am even on. Just not sure why when your in the pit lane it doesn't say the track at the top of the screen. When we get weather there is going to have to be a dialog box in the pits to give current weather conditions, wind speed and track temperature.

It could be simple as track name at the top middle of the screen. Roll cursor over it and then a pop up appears with the track short name, and current conditions on the track. Since we don't have weather, but we do have wind it could say what the wind condition is. Then later the pop up would have weather and track info.

Quote :Knight_Atack Another great skin Heizer, great job... But... Please let us have HQ2048 versions!

Yes I've been wanting that too. Still hasn't answered why there are no shadow layers in any of the skins. Seems these skins are just made for renderings not really for LFS in the game. I have download several but haven't used them since no shadow layer. Looks weird to me seeing a white car, near the suspension with no shadow for the suspension.

+1,000,000 for me. I've been wanting to suggest prototypes for about 2 months just hadn't gotten around to it. If I can't drive a F1 car this is the other type I'd want to drive. I think we have enough tracks for them, if we can race FO8's and BF1's on a track we can race these.

For me, I don't like ovals, I stated that several times. I find them boring to watch even more boring to actually race. Does that mean I haven't done them? I've done them a lot in LFS, because I race F1 cars, and that is usually the only type up and running. A F1 car doing a constant left turn is annoying to me. I did several races on Annabelle server last night where were more fun the the FM oval. Since Annabelle has 20 laps and pit stop. Unlike the 8 lap sprints of FM. I was just so bored after a while, a few races I was starting to fall asleep. For me the fun of racing is not the constant gas pedal down, drafting, it gets old to me. Just slip streaming in a circle is boring. :/ Now sling shotting yourself around to out brake someone in a corner that is fun to me. These are just my opinions nothing else. Never letting go of the gas once isn't fun for me, continously shifting for X amount of lap while trying to do the best time is to me.

That being said, if LFS were to add some Indy or CART cars I would try it, to see what it is like. Would be for fun, but wouldn't be my main interest. As for NASCAR no, I don't like it, for 30 years I don't like it. (I'm 31, so the first year I might have thought about it. lol) It's always been country music on wheels to me, another thing I can't stand. lol Would I try it in LFS? Sure why not, but that type of racing holds no interest for me, so I wouldn't be doing it only out of bordum.

But I also believe LFS should add as many types of racing styles as possible. That includes NASCAR, Indy, CART, etc. Not my type of racing but it is to someone else.

Just don't see why each type of car LFS would default to it's type of pit stop. If your in a F1 car, you know your stop will be shorter since everything is going on at once. Just annoys me making a pit stop and doing it in a order when it should be happening all at the same time. :/

My suggestion isn't how to set up a pit stop it's how the LFS handles a pit stop. Right now it does everything one step after another. When in a lot of types of Motor racing everything is done at the same moment. This has nothing to do with F12. It has to do with LFS fixing damage, then changing the front tires, then fixing damage, then changing back tires, then adding fuel. Etc.

All of this should be going on at the exact same moment, not in steps or stages. Below is listing everything as a example. On screen bold would mean these items are currently active during the pit stop. This is just a basic idea.

Front Wing Adjustment
Front Tire Change
Body Damage
Rear Tire Change

I posted a suggested something like this for leagues a while ago. Some people seemed to have mistaken it as being forced on everyone when I said it should be a option to use or not to use.

+2 What about like when you hit N, you get a menu screen with W and S, SS etc. Why not at the top of the menu have tabs for Lap, Position, etc. So when hit the tabs the lay out changes slightly. I think Spectator and Racers should be in the same window but separated by there headings.

(Position)
Racers:
P1 CrazyFast
P2 AwesomeSpeed
P3 Winner
P4 Lapinator
P5 GoGoGadget
Spectators:

(Lap)
Racers:
L13 CrazyFast
L13 AwesomeSpeed
L15 Winner
L16 Lapinator
