And it just shows how bad this game is... seriously after trying AC I think I'm gonna sell my PS3

So after some frustrating attemps doing some races I now understand why the only thing I do in racing sims is hot lapping:

AI: Unless they simulate human reaction times, it will always be wrong. It's amazing how the recover control of their cars steering from lock to lock 5 times in a fraction of a second. And just like in 20 years old games, nothing happens when you bang them, but if they touch you slightly you will get in a uncontrolled slide that will cost you the race.

Online: I have lost hope in human race so no comments about online racing.

Yes, I will keep hotlapping

I agree with him too. And what's more, I only drive cars with H shifter so basically there are less than 10 cars in the game for me.

Offroad Drive. Not sure about its steering wheel and clutch support though.

That's the favorite activity of many people on this forum... they have been doing it for the last five or six years

That sounds way too obsessive to me. Mine is very simple. I just copy all my files in my external hard drive

and update them whenever I feel like. It's been 100% effective over the years
I also drop some files in the Google Drive folder if I want to have them available from my phone, that's it.

I don't care about owning the game or not, it just feels unnecessary to have a software to manage your games, I can do that myself, thanks. Besides, I usually download games, play them, finish them, and delete them, so I don't need any external app to help me with that. Racing sims are the only ones are pay for, and with the amazing simulation that AC has I don't care if it comes with steam or not, it's worth it

My highest position last year was 86th a week before the end of the event, there are just too many Italians . I stopped trying when I realised that I had to drive very unrealistically and get advantage of the physics flaws if I wanted to improve my time
Will try again!

I have everything in default with my T500RS and TH8RS and feels awesome. Heel and toe shifting from 5th to 2nd with the Elise Black to take the chicane in Nurburgring is just orgasmic

Well the trick works and I can get between 60 and 80fps with the lowest settings, not bad for a 5 year old laptop!
I must say the game has improved so much compared to the tech preview, now I understand why you guys like it so much

Quote :At the moment, Assetto Corsa will be available exclusively from STEAM .

At the moment, but I wanted to know if that's for the early access versions or if more formats will be available when 1.0 is released.

Anyway, I decided to spend 23 Euro on it and get my first game ever on Steam. I then found out that the game requires DX10.1 so I need a new PC if I want to play... which I find kinda wierd since I was able to test the tech preview. Can't blame them for that anyway, if I was a racing sim dev my game would only support DX11, steering wheels above 250 bucks and triple monitor setup. You don't have any of that, you can not even install it. I'll get a new rig at some point this year

Do you guys know if the game is gonna be available only on Steam? I wouldn't mind buying it now with a nice discount, but I would prefer a standard digital download (like LFS for instance)

I am not afraid of the snow man, I just bought a car that I like, as simple as that

I understand your point of view but when you live in a place where rains and snows and you have only one car, it needs to be an all rounder, so 4WD FTW

I am doing the career and despite of the stupid AI it is actually kinda enjoyable, but for me the good thing about this game is the one I explained above. AI in GT5 is pretty much the same, maybe some races are a bit harder but only because you start way too far behind the first car.

I have no idea about the plans that PD has regarding the AI but I have the feeling that they don't give a fu*k, that they will fix all this stupid things in GT7 for PS4 as a next gen title, PS3 has had enough.

I have PS3 only for GT6 (initially GT5) and it sucks but I love it. If you're a petrol head willing to collect cars, take care of them, tune them and take them for a spin every now and then, it's the best game out there for any platform. I really love hotlaping with my cars just for the sake of driving them with some decent physics, a good wheel and a manual shifter. It is a driving simulator, not a racing simulator. AI is the worst I've seen since the 80's, there are just random obstacles driving slowly around the track, and servers are full of people with 500hp Ford Focus driving with super soft racing tires, controlling the car with a gamepad with most aids on, so is not worh either.

Wrong assumption. They play because they can do it for free, but it doesn't mean they would have paid otherwise.

Quote from farcar :Completely agree with this. Sims should always align with reality, and this is reality plain and simple.

Finally the kind of comments I expect from people supposed to want realism
