You are free to do whatever you want, but personally, if didn't have a wheel, I'd rather do something else than simracing. I am of the opnion that when I do something I do it right or I just don't do it at all.

I have the T500RS and the force feedback in GT5 or GT6 doesn't feel bad at all. Sure LFS is x10000 better but even if I stop playing for months and I try it again I can drive normal and naturaly, just like if I had been playing the day before. Maybe is because I have played too much already? I dunno

Well in the attached example it actually produces 60 more hp in that rev range, so I don't think is just the exhaust note... could it be better if it worked like you said? Well I guess so, there must be a reason why it doesn't though.

No, they're official, from current designers. I know guys from Alfa Romeo and Bertone who worked on them.
The world of car design is not as simple as it seems, so I guess they thought: oh, screw the everyday problems we have while designing a car, let's do something cool without taking care of anything, is just a game.

Torque and power drop at 5800rpm just like with any other similar car, the difference is that instead of shifting up you just keep flooring it and get some extra juice. I like it.
Torque? That's not how it works as far as I know. Lets take this dyno sheet as an example, and you can find similar ones allover the net
It's a common 4 cylinder engine until around 5k rpm, producing just 120hp. After that, the vtec kicks so in just 2000rpm you get over 180hp, 60hp more. The torque instead is pretty flat all the way. Vtec engines are known for the lack of torque at any range of revs, that's why you rev the hell out of them, to get a boost in power, just like some motorbikes.
As I said the video I posted is overdone since it's a crappy game with an unrealistically tuned engine, I just wanted to show the effect that's missing in GT5. The power band in GT5 feels way too smooth, I don't feel any change at all, revving an Integra Type R or any other car without vtec feels pretty much the same, which added to the lack of good engine sounds makes them miss their charm.

So you want a software that automatically detects the difference when you're in Windows/Game Menu/Game itself so it adjusts the sensibility automatically?
Just get any mouse with dpi adjustement on the fly, some of them even come with different profiles that you also set on the fly. I personally have the Roccat Kone Pure and the software works great with W8 x64.

I don't get how the car spawn works. I've been playing this game since it was released almost every day. I've completed the main story and 87% of the overall game but there are cars that I have seen today for the first time ever, like the Cadillac Deville and the AE86 (knock off). I saw one day the Chrysler Voyager, but ONLY that day.
