Smartphone is more useful than a netbook: GPS, photo camera, radio, fits in your pocket, more battery life, calls and sms... and also the same basic stuff a weak netbook is able to do. I can also tell you things about the one I have: GSmart MW700. Gsmart is the smartphone division of Gigabyte.

Good things

- The GPS chip is the SirfStar III, so is not just a GPS, is one of the best
- 520Mhz CPU
- Windows Mobile 6.1
- The size is fine. Not as small as a normal phone but flat and slim.
- It did the job for me as a computer during one year: Skype, Messenger, Office Word, internet browser, GPS, photo camera, TV, e-mail...

The bad things

- Battery life is a joke if you use it as a computer (as I did). For normal phone use is ok.
- Windows Mobile 6.1
- 64mb ROM. For most applications is more than enough, but in some heavy webpages it becomes slow.

Quite happy with it to be honest so, if you buy something newer and more powerful, you'll be satisfied for sure. My personal recommendation is Windows mobile, because the compatibilty with your PC (if you don´t own a Mac) is amazing and there are millions of useful applications. Is not as fancy as Iphone or Symbian, but is more useful, that´s why I like it. It has some bugs and runs slow sometimes (in my phone at least), so that´s why a wrote WM6.1 in cons and pros.

Finally I switched to Vegas: 150mb instead of 2.4Gb and as I see unless I want to do something extremely professional it does the job. It's working fine for now, my first video is done

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone here can recommend me a professional video editor. Which softwares are usually used in companies? For now I want to edit a small video just for fun but in the future it can be very useful for me, so I'd like to start being familiar with this kind of software. I was thinking about Adobe Premiere. Opinions?

Mine is slightly modified, that's the original one.

Unzip all the icons somewhere in your computer. Rag and drop shortcuts to the bar for adding them. Then right click to edit properties and select the icon you want.

Look at mine, I have even more shortcuts than you, but they are "integrated" in the overall looking of the desktop. That's what deskmod is about.

The background is just one part of the dektop, the way you combine wallpaper/icons/shortcuts/skins is the important thing for a nice general looking. The best wallpaper ever with stock icons, shortcuts all over the screen and a skin we all have see million times is useless. For me, an arcade racing game means: you can take corners much faster than in real life, your car is faster than in real life, your car is undestructible, you can win a race having no idea about driving, you can race pushing other cars and killing them, you ca jump and control the car while in the air, you can brake 100m before you'd do in real life, or braking is not necessary at all even... that's the meaning for me. Dust and dirt in general. Maybe they look bad, but they are there for a reason. One plastic cover maybe does not help a lot with the noise, but all of them together sure they do.

I used a program called EASEUS Partition Master for a Vista x64 installation and it worked like a charm, just perfect. I guess it works with Win7 as well.

I read in order to have cpu advantage in Vista/7 you need at least 16 cores, then your cpu performance will be faster than a XP with the same cpu.
