Ahem... XRT/XRR looks like RX7, and RX7`s DOES backfire even if it was stock, especially FC RX7.
And don`t start arguing what car it looks like, use your imagination and add the sound files you like most on the cars. RX7 was just an example of a stock car which backfires.
And even if it wasn`t XRT/XRR, all the others are racing cars. So they are modified anyways.
If LFS wasn`t driftable at all, I wouldn`t even play this game. If I want to race, I have better games (sorry) for racing needs, Gran Turismo for example. I like GT for racing more than LFS becouse of the possibility to modify the performance of the vehicles.
And if I would get S2 license now, I would probably be hyped up by the other cars for only like two weeks, like in GT3 and 4.
When I got GT4, I raced alot in it, now when I have only 20 percents completed, and I have the R32 GT-R N1, I don`t even like playing it anymore to get other cars. I have what I want and what I like.
I have GT series games for racing, and LFS for drifting. So I would class myself as the one who buys S2 license only becouse of driftability.
[ot] I made a Drifting Addiction Test at LFS Finland, and it said: Hopeless. Kill your self for good.
Edit: =o I dodged some guy doing a burnout in the last corner before the backstraight. I was coming at usual speedto the corner, then I saw this guy doing a burnout in the middle of the road and he wasn`t moving anywhere! So I had to straighten my car becouse it wouldn`t have gone sideways through the small hole on the left side of the burnoutter. After I passed him I gave a small kick on clutch and started going sideways again.
It`s hard to explain with crap vocabulary like mine, but it felt damn cool.
Actually today I realized that I wouldn`t even drift on that big angles which would need 45 degree steering lock.
I have the "driftbox" which shows the angle of my drift, it goes at around 30 degrees only! And at some places where my speed is over 150km/h my drift`s angle is about 40-50 degrees and I can easily handle them.
So in my really honest opinion, steering lock of XRT should be increased to 40 degrees MAX.
What`s the use having 45 degree steering lock when you need it only at very high speeds and hairpins?
I WAS drifting at the HCGC server, untill everyone got kicked :P I have a bad headache and the sound my wheel makes doesn`t help it at all, or the squeeling dumpvalve sound =P
I`ll be there again tomorrow. If anyone of you gives a uhhh
Big thumb up for 45 degrees steering angle. There`s no other use for XRT`s but just drift with it. As far as I`ve heard, those who have S2 license and races, hardly never uses XRT for racing.
But well, if you don`t want to increase the maximum steering lock, take off the slidability (lol ) and put super softs available on the street cars too, since "we`re all racing".
As a matter of fact, drifting is a lot like racing. Wouldn`t say that from showdrifting, but all the twin battles are alot like racing. You just get style points from how you drive, and you get judged by the speed, angle and amount of smoke. The more you got all of them, the more you get points. And just in case someone didn`t know, if you pass your opponent while doing a drift in a battle, you`ll win immediatly.
I mean, come on! Even drag racing is called racing, eventhough you can even teach a monkey to push the pedal to the metal (in this case, probably to carbonfibre) and shift gears.
And drifting is even getting more and more popular form of racing in the world!
It would be cool if the turbo spool up sound could be replaced, that way you could put screamer pipe sound on your car, but wouldn`t have turbo whistle =P
