I wasn't thinking about a fixed car class or anything, it could vary. Or multiple servers with different classes are also a good idea.

Yeah, the root of the whole idea was what you wrote scipy. It would be all about the licensing system, to have them drivers inside a certain % of each others laptime, and not to have clueless NFS racers spinning around. Most problems are caused by the really slow ones. I don't want to gather only the WR pace drivers, just the fast and clean ones.

It's simple, and easy to make. The question is that how popular would it be?

Theres no fun in overtaking poeple who are secs slower than you. It's just pointless.

Quote from R.Kolz :We had the same feeling like you. Your described way is the way the TDRT Public Endurance Server is managed.

Check it out some day.

Yeah, but thats endurance racing. I was talking about CTRA, or now LR Race Center like race system. Shorter races, fast rotation etc.
rev's and CJ's idea of a better public racing

Ladies and Gentlemen, and the rest.

Public server racing has lost a lot from it's reputation in the past time. There is a quite big difference between the fast and even the average drivers. I'm quite fed up with the fact that I can't really have good races on public, cause of the pace of the usual day grid. No offense or anything, but I'm sure that many of you faster people feel the same. You get on a server, win the first race from last position, then it's racing alone until someone crashes you off the lead. I don't want to be speed racist or what, but I think you know what I mean. It's also annoying when you can only have good races in bigger leagues with their strict rules, and no real daily good racing.

If the above stated fits you, let me share my idea with you guys.

As most of you know, there was the CTRA. Which wasn't bad, many fast people raced there, had some nice crasher report system and stuff, but it is dead now.

My idea is to bring back high level daily racing, in the following format:

There gonna be a public server, which everyone can use, and race on. There also gonna be another one, but private (doesn't really have to be private, will talk about this later on). So, my idea is to gather all the fast people on one server. How would I do this? On both server there will be an insim app running. It's not final yet what role it would have, just manage the races, or sorting the racers. It would be hard to use a program for picking the fast people, because there are many variables. You just can't pick someone with the most fastest laps, or most wins etc. Also, If 2 fast ppl fight with each other, they gonna be a lot slower from wr, so thats not a good take-off point. Either it will be done manually, or with some really well written, and thought over insim application, we will think it over. (so only those people could join the other server, who are allowed by insim)

So there would be public, and a public/private for the fast guys, giving them the chance to have close, but at the same time fun racing. Since we don't know all the fast racers, at first we gonna add the ones we know from LFSW, and as I said, the well known ones. The rest could qualify weekly on the public server. We are not sure yet in what format, and it really depends on the insim we will have, but on every wekend the 'unknown' or lets say not so known drivers will have their chance to join the elite club.

We just started the project, and I want to hear your opinion guys. I hope you understand the whole idea. So basically one would be a public, and the other would be a server with the 'fast filter' on.
We are also waiting for ideas if you guys like it, how to run them servers and stuff, but thats the near future..

How does it sound? :P

Quote from Becky Rose :Everyone has a different opinion of what is metal, what is rock, what name should be given to the subgenre of music played by band X, Y and Z etc... At the end of the day it doesn't matter, if it scares old grannies it's rap, if it scares kids it's metal, if kids like it it's pop, and if grannies jive to it it's jazz.

End of.

Well I like jazz and I'm ain't no granny. I guess at least

To go ontopic. Amplifiers do get hot if you stress them enough, but that isn't fatal, or shouldn't be. Might be if it's some no name brand.
Also check the power cabling, if it wasn't set up properly it could be a problem.
Does the amplifier get power if you turn the system on? There should be green or red leds indicating the status. If it's not the fuse, or power cabling, or just some other cables, it must be the amplifier, but as I said, it has the least chance.

If my English is correct, that floating text should say 'where can I race' instead of 'where can i race'. A lack of capital 'i' wont destroy the world tho

All parts are important. Id say the least important part is the optical drive. Many people mess up their setup with a cheap psu and case. I know many friends who went with a cheap psu or case, since they said 'a case or psu wont give me extra fps', and now they suck in the summer with the temps due to now enough airflow, or simply their psu give up.
So I'd say, if you make a new PC, don't save on any main parts, or otherwise you will have problems with it. If not right away, in the really near future.

As for a personal example, I bought a 460W Enermay PSU around 6 years ago, and I'm still using it in my new system. Spent my pants on it, but It was worth it.

Just wondering if that's any good? Because this has optical and is cheap. If anyone knows anything better, I maximum want to spend 50-60 euro on one.

There should be one on the mobo I guess.

Quote from Bose321 :how much did that cost you?

Well, they are around 5-6 years old, and their price were insane here in Hungary. With the current exchange rates it cost me around 700$, but it was like half, or even less in the states, or in other countries. The only problem with it, that it has no digital input, but it doesn't matter for me. They sound really nice with my X-fi Fatality. The mid and high-range are excellent, lots of room in it, but the 2 20cm subwoofers run out of juice much sooner than the satellite speakers. They are discontinued afaik.

Edit: As for the price differences, A wall bracket for my speakers would be 30$ a pair in the USA, and here they are 130$ a pair...

Quote from gruggy :
and if you think the z 5500 has no bass then what is bass lol. that subwoofer can break things with that bass you know.

It depends on what do you compare them with. The Z5500 and a proper 5.1 system are not the same class. The Z5500 is a compact solution mostly for games, but of course you can use it as a home theatre system.
It loses the match against real home theatre systems on the cabling, amplifier, size of the drivers, and building materials, so kinda everywhere.
Thats why they are for PC, compact, relatively cheap, and has nice sound, but if you really want quality movie and/or music experience, you gotta go with a bigger system. Even that Logitech system would sound much better with a standalone home theatre amplifier, and proper cabling.

Myself using a nearly stoneage Klipsch Promedia 5.1. Ideal for games, and music, has the best sound of it's category imo. Not really planning to replace it
