You don't have to deal with it if you don't want, and have the opportunity to not to do so. It's called racing standards. It's a good thing that anyone can join race and have fun, but also you can set a higher racing standard on a server, and great racing will happen.
You know, when you outcorner a FXR with the XRG something is very very wrong.
You mean crashgame.nl? Only problem is that 99% of the slow ass ppl are not only slow, but can't race neither. It has never meant to be about the pace, but the about quality. (being fast isnt = being fair tho)
It has been, and will always be a problem how to deal with slow people, and by slow I mean often 4-5-6 secs off the pace. With that kind of difference it's very easy to get into a situation which ends with crashing.
I do understand both sides. It's not fun getting crashed by fast guys when you are learning the track, and it's also not fun to have somebody in front of you who brakes 30m sooner, or stops on the ideal line to let you past.
If you want clean and competitive racing, you really gotta be radical with admining which will not result in being very popular. The problem with the current public server is the loose rules and slow admining, which destroys everything. Personally, when I get crashed out 2-3 times in a row by some idiot who thinks its fun not to brake, I won't race there any more for a while.
I admire people who has the patience to do so. But don't worry, we have a plan :P
LOL so many gay people, it's like a gay parade for real. Hosts, commentators, competitors, everyone.
I only watched cause 3id Jack told me to, had some good laugh
They also vote for their neighbour countries, it's so lame. My vote goes to Boobmenia
Why wasn't it working then? Not only for me, but neither for Nightracer. We tried to join 6-7 minutes befor ethe race started, but it said wrong password.
New year, new style of layouts. It's time for some time attack runs.
Aston Historic Reversed
First layout is based on the challenging Aston Historic Reversed. With it's wide run off areas it gives a lot of opportunity for combined hairpins and chicanes. After a fast first sector comes a flowing 2nd, then it gets really mad. Don't leave your handbrakes at home. Last sector starts with an evil 5 tag chicane. Don't cut the Eau Rouge, it isn't worth it.
Heres a youtube video of a 3:12 lap. Top times are in the low 11's. Made for the RB4.
I'm on a 30/10 mbit shared line with 4 flatmates, and I can tell you it's more than enough. 3 mins for a 700mb movie, can't even sh!t that fast Also I'm uploading like 1tb each month on torrent. And yeah, I pay around 2,5€ for it
Had races there some time ago, and less camber with pushed up pressure didn't work. You want to keep the camber and low pressure to have the grip, and not to slide, because sliding kills the tyre. Really, you can go fast without sliding, even as fast as with sliding. I'd say keep the qual setup, and try to be easy and smooth on the tarmac, and don't overdo the turns and you will be fine.
I might have said 'less important' than some other things. But really, if we want to go in small details we could write down dozens of things like this.
And what else should I've said? I really think it's not that important in this stage of the development.
Personally, I'm gonna give LFS a break because the lack of daily competitive racing. Since my weekends aren't always free, I can't really commit myself to a league, so it means if I'm in a league, I have 'good' races every 2 weeks. By good I don't mean competitive, but organised and stuff. But the last year proved it's just as boring as hotlapping.
The current popular public servers are nowhere near to the old CTRA. I know it's hard to lure fast people to public racing, cause most of them is kinda sceptic about the standards of these servers, but it's a must do. And let's face it, if you have chance (and by chance I mean like 20% chance) to have a great exciting and fun race only every 2 weeks, it gets damn boring after a while. It's just no fun at all.
I think a CTRA-like system could work for a while with better admining, since it wasn't that bad after all.
If you use in car view theres no need to show dirt on tyres. Maybe on single seaters, but since it doesn't affect the car's handling it's not important at all. Or at least has really low priority.
And btw, hybrids aren't more slippery than road normals :P
I think you should rethink the starting procedure, cause a flying lap with a pace car and a green light is a bit different. After pace car is gone, pole sitter controls the field, and accelerates when he wants. Also no overtaking until the start/finish line. Just like a standard flying start.
Personally I don't really like multiclass racing since it kinda splits the grid in half. Like let's say you have 30 cars on the grid, 15 GT1 and 15 GT2. In this case you cant really compete with 30, but with 15 cars. Less cars to compete with means less action. The LX4 could provide excellent battles since it's not that hard to drive, but can be kind of challenging.
Graphics doesn't matter that much, cause TDU1 still looks ok. The biggest problems in TDU1 were the 3 polygon bumps on the road which made impossible to race the cars in hardcore mode. Also the engine sounds were terrible, and some specs were way off. Like the Lexus cars hardly doing 210km/h, or the SL65 merc topping out at 270 or so.
Also some tyre wear or fueling would be great. And yeah, a much better netcode.
