I'm in the same shoes as you atm. Had me DFP for near a week and only beeten one of my old PB's (Oval) but i have learned when to start to straighten up the wheel and once i got that, i didnt need to countersteer as much. Also, the backend whiping out sounds like too much throttle to me, and as Bob says, as your straighting up, apply the throttle evenly, should sort it out.
The only way is USB headset. That way you have people talking to you through the headsets speakers and you talk to them via the mic, then you can play music/games/movies through the computers speakers and not have the two mixing together. Also, i have no feedback at all from this setup. I can leave the mic on, next to my speakers for hours (As i do most times, get the music flowing) and no feedback / whailing from any sort of interferance, no matter the volume or distance from mic and speaker.
IMO the F08 is like the FOX but more powerfull. I mean, i know for me it is, i used FOX for ages, then tried the F08 and loved it and found it to be as easy as the FOX. Tho i guess its personal preference...
I've never had a problem flooring the throttle comming out of corners in the FOX, and thats all corners btw. I spin sometimes due to the grass or another racer but when their not catalists, its fine
I'm always on TS. Period. Me clans like my second family *the crows says awwwwwwwww*
Hardly use vent, when i did use it, it took me about 20 minutes to set-up and i've been told it uses up more of your bandwidth than TS? (please tell me if i am wrong)
If you payed £12 for S1 then you just payed £24 for the full S2 licence, that might be why, but then again, it shouldn't because as an S1 racer, you can only upgrade, not buy full (i didnt put thought into this post)
As for only bank card, i payed via Postal Orders (or Money Orders depending on what you use / where you live) and many other ways are also accepted.
Nice vids man, i dont know what it is about the GTL vids but everytime i watch one i want that shifter and your wheel And every time you shift, it looks like your room is falling appart (camera shakes)
Nah, no AA or anthing, dont see a point tbh. Racing, im going to be going fast so its going to be wooshing past, which to the naked eye will be blurry, why get AA and AF to lag me up more to do the same sort of job plus some other smoothing extras i dont really look at / care about when racing?
Never had a problem with fraps either recording or just showing FPS. Says 120 in LFS which is right and doesnt lag me out either if i record. (1024x768 windowed)
Not bad for me. IMO all corners on club are alright, i've never has a problem with them. Just a case of working out the braking points. The last corner i workd out a while ago. Go down into 2nd or 3rd gear and add some throttle but enough to make the corner, not to spin then when you get to the small tyre stacks on the left, floor it / shift into 2nd if your in 3rd and floor it. Works a charm
Why not have wipers? Its a sim... cleaning shit from the windscreen requires either a pitstop for a mechanic to get the rag out, or wipers. No other sim has that, no other sim i know of has working indicators and hazzard lights, so why not go an extra mile.
The demo is a bit buggy for me. The car and track additions above are the main ones. Also, driving about their are a few bugs too. The best one is when your waiting to start the race, you can go at anypoint you have control, even before the green light and wont get a flag / DQ
I know every year i sit at the telly at 10am watching the marathon, never participating. But good on ya man for actually going to do it and raise money for charity.
I think the best place to get training is at your local gym / sport centre. They have trained trianers working there and im sure if you say "i want to run the marathon" they will know exactly what to do and tell you. They should also be able to tell you what and how much to eat / drink before the event.
Good luck, and post up a piccy of what your gonna run in then we can have a community challenge, "spot the LFS logo"
imho opinion, LFS needs a big, heavy 4 door car, like a Chevy Caprice/Impala (the round shaped one like the american police use)
Big heavy engine, RWD that seems to always wheelspin (on telly ) would be quite tricky to master racing and very fun for autoX and generaly playing about.
It also needs a 24h / prototype car, (as many have already said) something that has all the characteristics of the GTR cars from LFS and F1 roots.
Lastly, a supercar. Their are sports cars, road cars, formula cars and GT cars, no super cars. NASCAR wouldn't go amiss either
Sleeping policemen! Will be great for layouts me thinks, will be quite testing to see max speed to go over them etc. Also be good for cops and robbers i would think.
