Well... in theory I am open to the odd change, if it is benefecial to the league and is popular for all, but, I like the BF1, so if we do switch it over, then I will be sad and have to use the BF1 in the skill challenge track instead of the FO8.
Well.... if you ask nicely, I might do my Skill Challenge with the FO8 :-)
I did have a great idea for the challenge this season, totally different to the normal driving around cones affair. I don't want to give it away yet, as I'm still testing it, but if you're interested in the FO8, it would be possible to use it for this challenge. How many others like the idea?
Should be able to have the stream going at this weekends tuneup race courtesy of Nassa Ant. Bear in mind though, it will be following my car, if I happen to be driving. Though if I crash out, will be able to direct as normal. Will provide more details nearer the time.
Yes OLFSL is a very welcoming league. After all, they have a staff member (me) who is usually in the slowest pool. I reckon I should become the voice for the slower drivers, speak out for our cause.
I'm from Flying Finn 2 - our annoucment for team 2 was quite early, I did not see any complaints at the time, why pick on us now? Just because you're upset with rules going shite for you, what has that got to do with us at FF team? Anyway, if you want a season with no teams, then you bunch of arguing dicks are going the right way about it. The race is over now, if you can't grow up in time for the next one, free up some space for some teams that can!
Think the starts should be improved, people not managing to do a safety lap is silly. Also, just before the first green flag (at the start) everyone slowing down again, I ended up passing them and having to let them through
No passing should mean no passing, not just the fast guys. Also there was no green flag after the second yellow, it might have been cos I was behind the safety car but, it could've been on longer maybe.
C'mon, it is very difficult to organise a calender, especially with the restriction of only Sundays. Ant has done a brilliant job for OLFSL whilst Tessu has been away. There is always going to be a date which doesn't suit some people, it's a world wide game after all.
Yeah my upstream is about 300kps, so I'll be uploading around that to try to maximise that for best streaming quality. The downstream would be around 300 too I reckon, looking at my tests, as most people have above 1mbit this should be fine.
Not concerened about using bandwidth, it just costs more.
For those interested in renting OLFSLtv for other races and leagues, here is some example information.
Firstly we only accept PayPal
If you do decide to rent this service, it is classed as a donation to cover extra bandwidth and server costs.
The paypal account is only used for OLFSLtv
All donations go towards the server rental which is about 25 euros a month (may vary due to usage).
No one from OLFSL makes any personal money from donations to OLFSL.
5 euros and hour for a stream with no commentary
10 euros an hour for a stream with commentary (*)
(*) I must say though, still not sure about this commentary thing yet, I've never done it before, will have to try it first, our previous guy Fireball was really good at it. So in the end it might just be LFS sounds and video only (if i'm really crap that is).
I haven't looking into costs yet, number of factors.
Length of coverage, a short race would be cheaper than 24 hour event.
I would say as a rough guide though.
5 to 10 Euros per race, could probably do a discount for regular season booking. It would of course not have to clash with OLFSL.
The auto switcher is not a program or server mod by us, but a mixture of tools which together provide the effect. You could in theory do the same thing, with some research into auto keyboarding and macros.

Regarding the stream again, I found this this looks like it would get NSV into an IE, but would need users installing an ActiveX, which, is a bit shite.
