It's very good to have ambitions so you know what you want in life and have something to work towards. FYI actually, Swansea Metropolitan Uni is a very good place to do motorsport engineering at, thats why I would like to go there, I'm started sixth form next week so I'm really on the first stage of my life, I need to pass these next two years to at least try and get into Uni.
I was thinking about being a programmer and was thinking if I was really that interested in it, I would be programming a bit now which I'm not. You have to be very interested to go far in programming. I've been interested in motorsport and cars since I can remember, so I might aswell make something out of it.
I'm learning about cars on my own until when I hopefully get into Uni and do Motorsport Engineering and Design. Hopefully want to go to the Swansea Metropolitan University which was the first place to offer such course.
Edit: That R8 is ****ing hideous.
There isn't just modified civics on there. There is someone on there with a lambo. Some with a track viper which is currently being built, few cars like that on there.
Meh. I can't even be assed to type out a proper reply. This really isn't the best place to ask about cars. I'll put a thread up on the car club I'm part of in a couple of months.
Just because I don't put my full thoughts in here, I just put it in brief form really.
I know how well 205s can go. I know someone with a turbo'd one running just over 200bhp and it will leave his m3 evo in the twistys. Also have seen an Mi16 powered 205 chase Evo's around a track and if it was wide enough, would have easily passed the evo's.
WTF are you on. I just don't want to step into any car. I want to get a car I like which is good for a first car. I'm sorry if I like cars and just don't see them as a way to get around like others do.
One thing, why don't you STFU and get out of my thread? Don't get all pissy after this reply either as you've basically asked for such a reply.
Even when Tristan posts in here he actually says what the car is like and whats not so good about it.
There is much difference in the price of the premium for a 1L Corsa and a 1.6 car. A 1L will be about what, £1200 a yr to insure and a 1.6 is about £1600. £400 difference for a better car. Not a bad investment in my eyes.
You think I'm going to go out buy a 205 and slam a mi16 engine in it straight away? That would be a very stupid thing to do lol. If you seen, I said when the insurance is cheap enough which will be when I have enough driving experience to handle such a car. It's a 2L 160bhp engine, not going to get insured on such engine to I'm at least 19/20.
How is the cars I've listed living in the dream world?
I have a 49cc bike at the moment lol. I'm asking for opinions on cars I am looking at and what people think of them - Good or bad etc...
These aren't dream cars at all. How do you know if I can afford them? I have a motorbike sat outside worth about £1100-£1200 plus I work, so I probably I actually can afford them.
WTF, I've discovered what seems to be right that near christmas, insurance prices seem to go up! Hope they have gone back down to normal prices when I go to get a cat lol.
I've been looking at nippy, good handling cars. What I was wondering is that does anyone know if the 106 is as good handling car as what 205 is?
The cars I've been looking at lately are:
205 1.6 GTI - £1600 a yr TPFT - mi16 engine conversion cheap to do also which will then cause this car to kill cars like evo's in the twistys. That can only be done when insurance has gone down enough lol.
106 1.6 Rallye - £1600 a yr TPFT - Very similar to the 205 imo, just with better looks.
Old Mini Cooper 1.3 - £1300 a yr TPFT - Good little car, needs a lot to maintain the bodywork though. Also expensive to buy if you want a decentish one.
With a computer within the household, there is a problem with it and I haven't looked through it properly. But, it wont load up any programs... Will boot up, but if you go to open a program, it just wont respond - Task manager wont even load so I can see what is using all the power of the CPU, if it could be that.
So, the problems are that is wont load up programs once it has booted up and when go to shut it down, it wont shut down... Have to take the plug out and when you boot it back up, it's the same as before.
The operating system the computer is using is Windows Vista.
If anyone could post what they think the problem could be so I can check it in the morning would be great.
No windows updates have installed. So can't be a bug in one of the updates - Don't know if installed new updates would work... Most probably can't load windows updates up though.
It's good that the insurance is the way it is in the UK as it stops 17yr olds buying stupidly powerful cars. Although there is a good side of it, also there is a terrible bad side to it, which is the price of the premiums.
