I'm still holding out for a complete political/electoral revolution in this country. The whole expenses thing is just the straw that broke the camel's back, as far as the public's concerned.

Most games developers will charge what the market will bear. If you don't want to pay the price they're asking for a game, just don't buy it. Do without.
If something doesn't sell because people won't pay for it, they'll stop charging so much for it*. People make a lot of noise about their objections but all too often, they pay it anyway. Until we turn the culture around and start only tolerating the tolerable, games distributors, and everyone else as well, will forever screw us.

But then Sony has a long history of dismal marketing, dating right back to their Betamax video format and beyond. They're the exception that proves the rule.

My dad's a complete imbecile with computers but he can get around XP as long as you plot a route for him. Some people just aren't able to take on board what a computer is and/or how you go about using it. Some other people will just never be able to learn to drive. Others will never be able to learn to dance. There is no definitive "anyone can do this" in life.
[edit] I've said it before many times, but I'll say it again: I'm no fan of Gates or of Windows. But I do have the sense to recognise that, if it hadn't been for these, the internet probably would never have become as popular as it is and the percentage of homes with useful personal computers would be a fraction of what it is.
IMO, the Windows OS is the only OS for the masses.
Macs are easy to use (as long as you don't want to do much) but difficult to buy (prohibitively expensive).
Linux is cheap to buy (even free) but isn't easy to *fix* (which is needed more than Penguin-shaggers realise, because they're so used to having to fix it that it's second nature) and there's sod all to do on it.
A Windows machine is cheap, it's easy to use, easy to screw up and easy to reformat/restore. Grandparents can write letters to the BBC about how rubbish Question Time was, and grandchildren can kill aliens to their hearts' content. Neither Mac nor Linux offer this level of versatility unless you're extremely selective about which aliens you want to kill, or which printer you want to print to.

I cleared out AMB's posts as Lazza2k9. He posted thousands of links to the crack last night under various usernames. Someone who does that has no place on this forum, ever.
Don't feel sorry for us
AMB spends 15-30 minutes getting around the system, to create a new account before he can start spamming links to the crack etc. It takes me about 20 seconds to delete every post AMB's made and ban him. It's literally 3 clicks these days, since Vic changed the forum because of AMB's previous tantrums.
Of course, it doesn't mean I think it's okay for him to do it.. but he's not nearly the pain in the ass that he THINKS he is.
