Interestingly how on topic your last two posts are .... hmmm
I specially liked those guys who'd come occasionally and ask "when will S3 be out?" on patch test thread
It's not such a big issue to make it priority at the moment, in my opinion.
Better let Scawen get back to work on physics than bother with this now. There would be plenty of time for tuning up once the physics is out, so button clutch can wait until then.
Button clutch can be used even with AC on and without setting the profiler.
For example, for FOX to shift down it takes a slight throttle release normally. However it can be avoided by simply pressing & holding shift down button and then pressing the clutch button fast. http://www.lfsworld.net/get_spr.php?file=30197 around 2:30 time of the replay.
Because the car running on worn tires is faster than the one on new ones.
If you have a WR set in such a way then it doesn't mean that you are the fastest one in the world. It usually means others won't be bothered to spend an hour cruising just to be able to set a faster time, so the whole picture won't be accurate
Makes sense... maybe limited time for 2 laps or something like that, because if you limit the lap numbers they can again go all day long in opposite direction.
Well, there are more then enough view settings options in "view" menu that can make everyone happy. Left, right, up, down, turn head, g-force reaction settings... you can do what ever you like there and set it as your own default.
Here's another idea... that basically worked for me:
enabling a demo user S2 content but only in offline mode (for a limited time perhaps, but demos can create a new account every day, so...).
That way they would be able to try all cars and tracks, record sprs, but without the possibility to upload their hotlaps to lfsw or play online unless they buy the license. They can train themselves with the "big cars" and once you have the feeling you are good at it, you just can not wait to test yourself with other racers.
As I said, it worked for me... I saw the livestream, saw the sim was really good, searched the net and found a cracked older version. Tried the cars for a month or so and than bought S2 straight.
By that time demo version was offering only XFG, XRG and XRT on BL... if that was the only thing I could try I would've never bought the license as I don't like low grip cars and I hate Blackwood.
(Judge me if you want, but that's what led me to actually reward the devs for their work.)
It's not those areas that are such a problem, but when turning off the track to go to pit and to join back the track from the pit.
It goes straight from/on the racing line where difference in speed, for example with FOX, of those cars which go in/out of pit and those which don't is approximately 100 kmh (or about 60 mph). What I wanted to do is use grass areas to make safer pit in/out, but of course, I would need some grip there.
With respect to what has been said above, I want to make a suggestion for something that can be looked upon next time you have time for this, when ever it is...
With the OT configurations a problem appeared that can not be easily solved. Made a fewAston layouts that use AS7 starting grid and pit and they are very nice to drive on. However, the big problem is pitlane, both on entrance and exit on the track. Pit in/out join/departing the track on the racing line where one has to reduce speed significantly, thus creating potential risk of crash with another racer following close behind.
What I wanted to ask is: is it possible to add something like a concrete flat horizontal panels to layout objects that can be put over the grass surface, so the surface then has grip instead of being slippery?
That way I could separate pit in and pit out lanes away from the track and avoid risks of collisions with other cars.
As I am complete noob in programming, I don't have a clue if this is a huge task or just a little thing and again, with regards to the quoted, don't even bother to answer now.
