And why would a buyer want to pay for a ID maybe banned from "all" servers? and how can a buyer be sure that the seller doesn't still have a version of LFS installed (or sell the license to more people at once)??
When running the MPR you can ban players as usual by pressing "the ban button" (with a question about how long).
This will add a ban record to your local bans.ban file. By copying the servers file to your local machine, run the mpr&ban the player and then copy it back again you can also easy ban players with "special chars"..
You can also ban the players registered name by using /ban <username> <duration> on the server console /logged inn with admin PW (iirc)
Think that post pretty much says it all for mee too. Times has changed, from Demo/S1 where I used all available time on LFS to now, only playing with LFS-tweak off-line every now and then, but hey, was online yesterday for the first time in months. Still good fun!
The Clutch can also be tweaked with DX Tweaks (I think thats the name, or something similar) and with some experiments it can be pretty good.
Without FF It will not be like the real thing
Guess not, tried to search at RSC, but was not able to find the thread..
I know there is a setting called "Rubber Lay" in cfg.txt, but when I think about it I don't think the "layer" increased the grip (but really not sure)..
There is (at least was in S1) a "rubber lay" (not the skid marks) that got better grip during a (long) race...
Think the effect even is documented at RSC..
This small utility will log all actions on your server with IP's.
A wrecker that get kicked , and refreshes his IP will always get a IP within the same range. This range can be blocked at your router/firewall.
2 major problems:
You will also block all other guests from the same ISP.
Tracking down the ISP's range is a lot of work..
(Can also be useful to find people spoofing ID's... )
Its possible to copy the directory with license (at least the main menu still reports me as a S2 licensed racer). But that will not be any different than selecting another player name in the original LFS installation.
(Online stats will still be collected for the registered name)
You can have several "names" on one licensed account, each with seperate local stats. The online stats are for the registered licence name (and will reflect "bad" driving).
If some of your friends get banned, it's your (S1/S2) account that is banned. (and not the selected player name)
To have two licenses on one computer you can copy the LFS directory and install a seperate S1/S2 licence on the second directory.
