Its probably a 5th gear smear campaign on the righteous Caparo T1. I guess they like burning stuff a lot.

lol... "Slightly Detuned IRL Engine" in the Caparo... 2 notes:
1) be glad it wasn't running methanol like champ cars do (i know champ != IRL), but clear fire is bad.
2) should make for good tv?

Lol... the Caparo Is Supposed to be a Road car, and I'm sure he did kill the engine. The problem is it was already engulfed in flames...

Does serve them right for burning Top Gear down...

Burns to hands, face, and neck. He is OK though.

Unbelievable... He will race in the BTCC finale apparently.

Quote from Humbleridderen :It´s not possible for me because of work. This weekend or 2 weekends later is ok.

I'm in exactly the same boat on this one.

Edit -> scratch that, 20th is my last free weekend for a long time.

FWIW - Personally, I have no conflicts with a time change; however I would lament for us to disenfranchise Moo, who has prepared for this event in advance with the impression it would be as scheduled like all other events.

Quote from Boris Lozac :I'm planning on bying a Samsung 223BW Wide LCD.. Does any of you guys have one and what's it like?
I've read previous pages and some of you mentioning that 22" LCD's are crap, something about pixels, i didn't quite get it, do you have some screenshot of what you're refering to?
I don't want to get stretched images or something like that, what are the pros and cons please... and what are they like in LFS?

Do you find yourself criticizing your current monitor (or others)?

If NO, you are like me, and will probably love the size, resolution, and aspect ratio of the 22".

If YES, you are video-elitest, and probably wouldn't be satisfied with the color and backlighting of most 22" lcds.

Please, he's "earned" the no. 1 spot on Mclaren?

He's "earned" it by being Ron Dennis' love child.

He's been incredibly fortunate/spoiled to have the opportunity he's got. The only really special thing is the ridiculous amount of luck he's had; when was the last time you saw a CRANE pull someone out of the gravel in F1?

Credit where credits due -> incredibly spoiled kid in incredibly fast car with incredibly good luck*

*till he found the world's smallest gravel trap.

Exactly my point Taylor-Mania. Hamilton has not done anything beyond my expectation of him. He's the no. 1 driver of the no. 1 team, winning doesn't show any stand-out talent.

Quote from DarkTimes :In fairness Kimi did the same thing at the Euro GP in the wet, except he went across the pitland divide and got away with it. For all Hamilton's impressivness this year, he is still quite inexperienced, so I think it's a bit harsh to come down on him for a simple human error. I guess if he'd lost it on a fast corner and put it in the barriers we wouldn't really be having discussions about him being a noob, it would just be classed as something that happens when you're racing hard, but when there are seconds between you and your championship rivals it's fair to be pushing hard into the pitland too. Anyway, whether he wins the championship or not, I think everyone must admit he has had the most impressive rookie season in the history of F1. Whether he lives up to it in the future or not, he's certainly a huge natural talent and has massive potential.

TBH, he's far from the most impressive rookie ever. He's got the fastest (by means of ill-repute)car, and his success is merely a by-product of that.

Vettel is doing far better than he should, given the level of his equipment.

Quote from Rooble :Its about time Kimi gets a win he truly deserves it with all the trouble he has had over the years, Hamilton in my opinion doesn't truly deserve a title just yet because he hasn't struggled to get where he is now - Not that I care if he does get it.

Spot on.

IMO - What LH should fear most is the fan backlash if Mclaren is not the dominate car next year. F1 fans can be notoriously fickle for blaming drivers when they fail to consistently produce year to year.

Quote from tinvek :this final race is a worst case scenario for mclaren isn't it ?

they have two drivers who will be racing each other for the championship whilst ferrari and massa will do their best to aid kimi.

And Hopefully the Ferrari-powered STRs as well.

It certainly should be an interesting race now. Hamilton is in a Very good position to take the championship, but it's not locked up by any means.

I really don't believe you can put the blame on the tires.... Hamilton just screwed up, really his first screw-up, which is amazing after a near-flawless rookie season.

lol... intermediate tires in essentially dry conditions are in no way meant to last when your driving flat out.

Oh, and it wasn't gnomes, it was gremlins wasn't it?

According to the american broadcast, McLaren was one hot potatoe after the Alonso comments after qualifying. If LH locked up the championship this race, they were considering having de la rossa replace him in Brazil. I guess he can't do that now!

Anyway, LH is back with his team, yay...

Kimi's tires are looking really Ragged! Will they hold on?

Talladega is an "impound race". This means the teams may not touch the car after qualifying before the race starts.

Teams in the top 35 in points set the car up in race trim, so they are ready to race in the draft.

Teams trying to qualify (outside of the 35 in points) sacrifice the race setup for a qualifying setup by taping over the nose.

10 out of the top 11 times in qualifying were done by people just trying to make the 8 spots to get in the race.

JV did No practicing in the draft, hence why he was near the slowest there. His team was concentrating on qualy setup only.

Borris didn't make it... So i am sad.
