You KNOW they had to have found the humor in posting this as the story's image (from the 2007 race)...

Here's to having another great race on another real track.

Quote from tenmantaylor :Pricing will be its downfall.
...

I thought the same. See the first page of this thread. I called for a sim community protest. I was wrong. Despite its short-comings (which there are many), it offers something fantastic.

Quote from deggis :Since no sign (or huh?) of the Daytona Prototurtle that was announced two months ago, the Lotus might take some time.

I thought the same thing as well. Plus the 2 "coming soon" cars on the cars news page [a sprint (dirt) car and a spec racer] haven't had any progress either.

New car announced: iRacing Goes Vintage With Lotus 79 F1 Car

Hahaha, geez, we've been asking for vintage in LFS for how many years now... (instead we get a Sirrocco, not even the old one).
iRacing's been public a month now...

Quote from Blizzardo :That's odd... did you get any incident points in warmup?

Quote from Jertje :Indeed. Incidents in warm-up don't show up in the race results, but behind the scenes they do count!

Ack! Indeed, I often drive like a goober in the warmup... never knew that'd be held against me...

Thanks for informing me, that's been holding my liscense back for a while now!

Arg? I did a Rookie Solstice race at Laguna last night, 0 incidents, and my SR went down??? 3.46 -> 3.43. WTH?

Anyone else had this happen?

Quote from MASSA :If Lewis had taken the chicane correctly, he would never have been able to pass Kimi on the very short straight that follows it

This is interesting, and I find it a lot more intelligent that the bold part. Had there been a wall instead of run-off (think goodwood), Lewis would have had to back out or crash. Either way, he probably would not have made that pass into T1 (assuming he'd have to slow considerably from his outside position).

Fantastic race! Proof that a proper track creates Passing, Battling, and Action!

I hope Tilke cries himself to sleep tonight.

I'm the same way Rob. I was pretty decent at Solstice Rookie, first two pages on the standings mostly, but cannot get any rythym or real speed in the Skippy. Maybe I'm too slow to keep the car "on the edge".

I think I'm going to try and get the SR up to 4.0 and go Mazda racing.

That said, I've been doing a lot of swimming, running, playing football, trying to get into triathlons, that I've not been simming too much lately. That and COD4 is still fun. Ah well, life's good

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :On the subject of idiot backmarkers, the last race I was in was the worst example so far. First this guy called Robert Rackshaw decided to hold up 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th for about 3 laps, in the end the idiot in 5th decided to try and overtake 3 cars in one turn which caused them all to crash infront of me, but I saw it coming and had already backed off and took 3rd. Then I came to lap a guy and I was going round the outside and he shut the door on me, tiny contact which didn't actually give me an incident point, but it was stupidly close to a big wreck.

Hahaha, I think I was one of the many that he took out! White w/ Blue middle stripe.

He totally screwed my last turn up disregarding the fact he was down a lap, causing a huge traffic jam on the front.

I was in 3rd(?) going down the front straight with Robert to my left, another guy to my right. I expected that Robert would lift, and the guy to my right would pass us both.

Unfortunately Robert decided to turn into T1 as if no-one was there.

And you got by us all!

Quote from th84 :Tommy Haas

Cool! Im sure I'll be seeing you (whenever I grow the balls to get away from the ovals)!

Do I see a S3R Iracing division opening soon?

Very cool. Will add you up

Hehe, a couple of us really like the iracing.

Quote from sosna :The whole accomplishment thing made me go for the annual sub!

Not an expert but is your card overclocked, maybe this is causing it.

It really makes you think before you just hop on without total concentration/care IMO.

My 8800gt isn't OC'd, but I'm not sure if something isn't wrong with it. It crashes on Guitar Hero 3 as well.

It's amazing how your time can drop as you get comfortable pushing some places.

I've turned a 1:03.5 in a warmup session. It feels like real acomplishment in iRacing when you get a lap right.

Stuart Duff - Hope to see more of you guys on there. Doing mostly the Solstice at LRP, as its my favorite, till I get a Mazda license.

Also, whenever I enable shadows my 8800gt crashes. Which is annoying. Aside from that and Noobs, I'm really enjoying the software.

$.02, love my DS3R. It did 450fsb no problem out of the box on my E6750, never even seen the max it will do. Apparently the DS3L is just as good, and super cheap.

Looks like a nice build, good luck!

The structure, both in pricing, racing, and (dare i say) freedom, is very different than what you find in LFS afaict.

It will be hugely appealing to some, not at all to others.

That said, it seems you are correct judging from some in the terms of the actual driving.

Again, afaik. (will find out for sure tonight!!!!111Eleven!)
