I saw the dell deal here in the states as well. Nice CPU, but DDR2-667 crap RAM, Crap Motherboard, and Crap integrated Graphics. And the CPU will spend its entire life at <2/3s its potential assuming almost all Q6600s can do 3.2 w/out too much stress.

Don't know if this has been brought up, but I was wondering if anyone else hoped that the racing line ('4') was a server side option (is it?).

For me, it makes being consistent easier, getting repeatable quick laps. Not really faster on a single lap, but probably over the course of race.

The problem could arise with leagues IMO, mainly where such an aide would really be out of place.

Personally I'd just like to not have the option of using it some times. It's tempting, and feels a little silly.

Anyone else feel this way?

I'd love the sound to be bumped up when you whack a kerb, and some more feedback might be nice.

We split it up with teamates though! Except for me once... where my teamates all had conflicts with their "real lives" getting in the way, so i was all alone. For 4 hours on FE3.

Top Gear is just in a league of their own as far as entertaining and unreal production values.

A few thoughts:

TH2G is sweet, but limited to 3 x 1280x1024 even for the digital DVI version. For Widescreen that means you will be running 3 x 1280x768 (roughly). From the native 1680x1050 it might a fair bit of distortion. I'd spend some time with a 22" @ 1280x768 to ensure you won't be dissappointed. I wouldn't count on TH2G updating their existing units to support 3 x 22".

8800GTX's are OLD, old as dirt. Nvidia hasn't felt any pressure from ATI for ages until the recent 3870's are coming close. Count on a new flagship Nvidia card to come out soon and to kick some serious butt.

Quad Core Penryn is too expensive. The premium for the 2 extra cores is like an outrageous 300% of the DC derivative. E8400 vs the 3.0ghz quad.

I did a 16.000 with my E6750 @ 3.2 DDR2-800 4-4-4-12. I'll run it again tonight and post it up.

I believe its a much more realistic and interesting track now than pre-y. The extreme width in some areas, excessive track-out areas, and unrealistic curbs just do not fit with the atmosphere of the track on a natural layout.

The circuit should be as good for racing as before. I agree with the comment of the apexes being slightly more engaging to find/hit correctly which should mix up the racing a little.
