Quote from Forbin :As with accidents in real life, it often takes 1 mistake each by 2 separate drivers to have an accident. There is almost always that gray area of fault.

Case in point:
1. I pass a guy up the inside into T1 at Jefferson in the Skippy.
2. He holds his line on the outside.
3. We enter the esses side by side.
4. Neither one of us backs off. (2 mistakes right there)
5. At the first apex I hold my line on the outside.
6. At the second apex, I'm on the inside but the other driver turns in hard, thinking he's ahead even though he can't see me in his mirrors. (mistake #3)
7. I suddenly see him cutting over on me and brake hard but it's too late and we collide.

that's true but a lot of assumptions. I was on a Silverado race twice last month and both times while warming up a few drivers were saying they should have practised first and this was tier first time on the track. Not suprisingly, they got in to trouble and took quite a few people out throughout the race. That was their fault for not practising and iRacing's fault for not enhancing the system to stop that.

Quote from richard dk :When you get used to it it`s the best thing in the world. All my races has been very clean from day one. Off course accidents happens. One week after I got my D license ( I think it was in July 2008) in Road my SR was above 4.99 and has only one time since, been on 4.68 and it took me 4 or 5 races to get it above 4.99 again. I`m now on a B license and it`s still above 4.99.

In oval it`s the same story, although i`m only on a C license there..

Having a high SR has really nothing to say (other than you can race "up" before the season ends IF your SR is above 4.0). You only needs 3.0 to get your next license at the end of a season. And when your SR is higher it`s also more difficult to maintain your SR because you needs more corners pr. incident.

You can see CPI - Corners Per Incident in the attachment. The OLD is not interesting, it`s the new who counts..

In the last couple of weeks I have raced two liga races in LFS for the first time since june last year, and all I can say is that SR rules..I wish it was in LFS..

I don't think there is a system that covers all bases and I think the SR for most is a positive thing. To some though, I know their experience in iRacing races has made them dislike the SR. If you constantly get taken out by peope [at no fault of your own] then you lose SR as a result and I can see why it will get frustrating.

I think having SR is a great thing to have but could do with some way of gauging where the fault lies in an incident. I also think there needs to be work done so that little nudges or taps do not incur the same SR penalty.

Quote from CarlLefrancois :

Think of club racers who meet at a local track every so often to race. Can you imagine one of them coming up and saying " hey we should really rip up turns x, y and lay some new asphalt! this old track is so BORING ". ...

Actually, I don't believe that is what's being said. To use your analogy, what people are actually saying is, hey, we have raced this track for loads of time. How about we take our equipment and go and race somewhere new as well as racing this track! If we were saying what you suggested, people would be asking for changes to already accessible tracks like aston etc! However, while on that note, why don't the dev's allow an open track for each location for the Cruise guys!!!! Bet that opens up for a few comments!

Personally, as much as I'd like to see new content, I beloeve the quality that LFS provides is something to cherish well above the many mods and tracks available in other games that are rather crap! There isn't a location/track in LFS that isn't good fun to race and well made! That's the case for a reason! [I do believe that's a compliment Eric ]

I don't want to see modding but I'd love to see some brand new locations (tracks) but would hate to think that Eric would need to feel flustered as a result to the extent his first public post has to be a diss to the community

Quote from Crashgate3 :How easy are these games to get into? Is it like counter-strike where you have to play for 8 hours a day, every day to stand a chance of being good enought to even just have fun, let alone winning anything?

I really want to get it and play it, but don't want to have to commit everything to get enjoyment out of it.

I just got ARMA to try it before ARMA2 comes out and I have to say it's not the easiest. ARMA is far from CS and DOD and that genre of game which is more fast paced. From what I've seen so far of ARMA its a slower paced game but very in depth and hard!

Not something you'll just pick up and do well in.
So you think you know your F1 tracks do you?

I agree, get to the Legend advanced as soon as possible. If you get the chance to try the Lowes Legend oval, I love that. but the legend road event is awesome

I just got the NZXT Avatar.... really pleased with it. I needed a new 5 button mouse that wasn't just for right handers and it's knockout!

Here's a review! Great alternative to the Razor products!

If someones too lazy to look left or right, they're probably too lazy to bother downloading such a tool.

Quote from Crommi :For ultimate fun, go participate in Legends Road Series

totally agree.... love doing the TT's in this!

Quote from Crommi :If you're even remotely insterested in road racing, Skippy is definately worth it. It can be quite handful at start but it's very good for learning tracks.

The skippy takes a lot to get the control and slide right. I've just got the Mazda and I think that is awesome fun! On Laguna its a real pleasure to drive!

I always used to drive in LFS with the two front wheels only showing until I got iRacing. Since then every driving game I use cockpit view and love it. Don't be static and give a change a go you know you want to!!!!!

Quote from buck77 :guys, is it hard to use SKYPE??
I don't use Ventrilo or even Team Speak when I race with friends, SKYPE is the best software that we found to do such things!!!

I don't know if this will work for broadcasting, that's why I'm asking!
Give it a try, maybe!!

the trouble with skype is that if the person that created the conference, drops their connection then the whole conference is cancelled. With ventrilo or TS, if anyone drops, it doesn't affect the broadcast.

I tell you what, I think the suggestions were totally right on the whole but that said, I thoroughly enjoyed tuning in and watching the quali's and both races. I thought it was a superb job and I'll be tuning in again for more!!!

I really didn't like Summit Point at first but then I did the TT in the Legends Advanced on it and loved it! Skippy is good fun too.

If you feel the urge, take part in the Legend Road TT. It's a lot of fun

Quote from Forbin :I started playing last week and I'm having a blast.

One of the great benefits for me is I get to learn VIR before actually going there. Summit Point Main is another track that the national amateur motorcycle racing league runs.

Let me know what your iRacing name is. I'll come race with ya some time. What car you taking around VIR?
