I couldn't disagree more blueframe. I prefer to just check F3 at a quick glance and see. who wants to be scrolling??? I prefer to race not do scrolling... thats stupid.

Quote from menantoll :But you only see the 3 cars in front and behind without scrolling. Takes much more than a bit of brain power if you are in the middle of a 30 car field.

true, but it's not just for that. It's nice to see what position you're in relative to your class, not relative to the overall race!

Radical is a fantastic fun car to drive. I'm driving it now before it gets the NTM

I think the sound in most of the cars is lacking compared to real life. They were working on something called F-Mod but the guy developing that left them.

As tristan said, sim's are good as a general rule to learn a track but there's nothing like actually getting track time. Too much simulation on general sims draws bad habits such as over turning the wheel, which is a common fault of sim racers.

However, as many have found out, having an accurate laser scanned track to get the correct idea of a track layout is a hell of a lot better than a non-scanned track!

Quote from Michael Denham :Part of the reason the Lotus 49 is a bit special to me is that it's the first car I drove in GPL. I was at the Lotus 50th Anniversary at Hethel on Sept 12th 1998, and they had a sim rig with GPL, with the Lotus 49 at Spa. There was a competition for fastest time, and I managed to win

I've never driven GPL but that's a great story Michael. What was the prize?

Quote from Gnomie :When is the new build rolling out, again? Have they said anything at all about a new incarnation of the NTM, or are you just speculating?

Not said yet....

A great move.... nice to see. It did look silly in my view to have some of your drivers on both teams. Now it looks great. Best of luck and well done.

sometimes if I was sent a setup through MSN. When I put it in my folder I had the same.

Make sure that the serup you were sent has the ending .sto

If it doesn't have that it will not work. So maybe rename the file from hello to hello.sto

try that!

yeah, interesting to read in the notes about the Ford GT. I guess that's one reason the ntm is different from the C6R supposedly!

TT: Closer to the Edge - Absolutely brilliant documentary about the 2010 Isle of Man TT. Though I didn't see it in 3D, it's a really superb piece of work concentrating mainly on Guy Martin. For any Racing Nut, this is a must!

Quote from PMD9409 :Anyone else having fun reading about the speed the tires having so long into the race?

At NHMS, in a 100 lap race, Kevin King did not pit once and ran his fastest lap on lap 91. Now at Richmond its 130 laps and someone went the whole way to win and got fastest lap at the beginning of his final run.

Seems like the tire wear is not decreasing grip, instead it is just the heat of the tires. Anyone else see this as very similar to LFS tire characteristics?

I do think with the NTM that tyre, wear doesn't work. It's all about temperature and that's it currently. I see it more like you have the tyre engine but almost no content to fill it yet... but it's coming slowly! The rudiments of temperature are there but wear certainly isn't there yet.
