Quote from count.bazley :As far as I can remember, the sound is from a real-life clip rather than in-game. Although I can't find point you to the original source of that info as I'm not currently subscribed to iRacing anymore.

you're right mate. Steve Myers posted to say they used not ingame sound as they wanted to get the video teaser out quickly....

Irrespective of new physics, keep the community happy with new content! Just give us new tracks and we'll be happy for the time being!

Quote from anttt69 :Its called being realistic Kevin, you just interpret it as negativity. Tbh its hardly a good offer, they had a $100 membership with $30 rebate just 2 months ago so that would be equivalent to a $70 membership. Now its $75??

You have to also accept that iRacing is still getting $100 of your money in to the system. By only actually putting in $75, it's surely right that you don't quite get the same deal. So, infact, it IS a good deal for the $75 for the year!

Quote from anttt69 :I was only asking why, as your post made no sense to me? You dont have to buy your membership now, there will be another membership offer in two months time. You seem to be getting all upset over nothing??

Going by previous years, that's not been the case at all. This year is the first time there's been more than one special offer for the yearly amount as and above the one in June. I doubt within the next two months we'll see another offer for the year. Saying that though, there will be a special promo deal coming when Spa and the F1 arrive!

Quote from jakeeatworld :Thanks for that info, I didn't know, looking at the mixed SR in some races I thought it was just a random split. I'm at 1599iR so with some top 8 finishes hopefully I will work my way up

Check out the England forum too at the bottom of the forums. Great bunch in there and very helpful too.... Also check out the Wednesday club race - this week at Zandvoort in the skip barber

Quote from anttt69 :The tyre model allows us to, so we do. I doubt very much you'll see a pack of skips drifting around in RL. Although having said that, i have never driven a REAL skip barber race car so couldnt really say for sure.

I don't think you'd see it anyway from most of the rookies that go to do the Skip Barber schools driving..... my point

Quote from anttt69 :There are two different skip series IRL. One is run on slicks so it may be that the vid is of that one. Your observations however are correct, racing the skip quickly is a drift fest & tho not realistic it is a lot of fun.
DK has been working on his new tyre model almost as long as Scawen if not longer, so when it comes it will be good.

minjrack if you havent tried the skip yet your missing one of the best cars in iRacing.

Was having the same discussion with someone last night about the skippy. A lot of the videos on youtube with the real skippy are people that are doing the racing school. While they want to be quick, I'm sure they are not going to push the car to the absolute limit all the time, like someone might in iRacing to get the best times. Part of me thinks that the "driftfest" in iRacing is as a result of there being no risk, in comparison to a newer driver within the school, not wanting to break one of the cars by drifting all the time.

Thoughts?

definitely go with a logitech driving force GT for the under $100, for a few reasons.

Firstly, it's a very robust wheel with excellent force feedback. Secondly, the drivers work superbly well out of the box with almost every game. Thirdly, logitech has a fantastic after sales support so that if any problems do come, they fix them!

It's a closed book as far as I'm concerned!

Quote from aroX123 :I started 4 days ago, so far so good.
Going with the Oval licence rather than the road, somehow im quicker.
I tried iracing at the kartmeet and after that I really wanted to have a go at home too. So bought it.

Class D 3.44 atm, will be running the late model, but had no racing today, because I will rather wait till they change to Lainer rather than buying a whole track when its only 1 day left of it, as you allready know Lainer is a free track
Got the Lotus 79, chevrolet silverado and late model bought too.

Im having alot of fun, side by side switching positions its so funny,
tho I like the way people respect eachother even though there is some idiots out there.

nice one Jarl.... You'll find Havoc and teedot in the late models... look for Kevin Myers and Scott Burlovich

Fir trains, really check the times carefully as you can really get great discounts if you are prepared to go after 10am and also on less busy days like a Tuesday, Wed or Thursday.

http://www.buytickets.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk

Those two offer good deals.

I checked with the top link going from London to Huddersfield and back with about a couple of weeks up there and managed to get that for £42 return....

So do look around

Buses are often cheaper but take a lot longer and are a lot less direct

Quote from Mp3 Astra :Lotus limiter will make a return: Read: http://members.iracing.com/ifo ... amp;start=75&tstart=0

"posted by Eric Hudec, reason the rev limiter was added back was because too many folks were blowing up... In the near future we'll have a switch where the user can choose to run with it on or off. "

that's good to hear. I hope that the limiter is set quite low to give those that risk the limiter off get the chance of a slightly higher rpm

Quote from z-ro 8 :@ PMD, I started running what could be called a luaghable setup on a my sportsman car in 2002, and the car was insanely fast.
At a track where 57% crossweght is the norm, I was under 47%
It simply comes down to the right combination and giving the car and driver what each wants.
But you're experienced enough to know that.....

did you win Kevvy, or how many incident points did you receive?

Quote from jasonmatthews :Wrong again...

I paid £90 for my subscription. I paid £210 for content. I am not ALLOWED to play my content without keeping my subscription going. World of Warcraft does not rip you off in the same way, not at all. You don't pay £210 for weapons in WOW so you can enjoy the game. You pay your subs, that is it... iRacing is taking you for suckers....

you tell people not to call you a troll then start calling all iracers suckers... double standards mate? get a grip FFS! All the information was there for you to read BEFORE you parted with the cash. The sucker is you !

I put you in very high regard but these comments seem way out of character for you...... Just because you're pissed off at yourself for spanking the cash, you seem to be taking out of those at iracing that are happy, by calling them suckers - very unfair!

Quote from jasonmatthews :Wrong, wrong wrong...

I bought a year because it was so much cheaper than paying per month. Like 50%. I stopped playing after 4 months because I had no way of racing my teammates and friends. It was BORING!... VERY

Now, they have finally listened and are trying to make it easier for a community/team to work, but it still is a cold, money making sim... IMHO

If you think my honest opinion is trolling, then maybe you should take a good look at yourself. I have tried my upmost to try to make iracing and a team/community work, but it simply doesn't atm. This is what makes LFS special IMO. The fact that we can access live data (for free), build websites around it, join friends etc, makes LFS a community SIM. iRacing is simply not that.

To say to LFS'ers, who dare to make statements of opinion on iRacing, in an LFS forum, as trollers, is bullshit Glenn, and you know it..

If you really think that the opinion of someone who plays LFS every day, runs a very active team, organises meets for the community as a troll, then piss off to iracing and don't come back.

The fact that Scawen/Victor lets you talk about iRacing should tell you something. The fact that you are posting in the LFS forum should tell you something. The fact that when you simply don't have the time to commit to iracing 24/7, you WILL feel as ripped off as I did, should tell you something.

^^^ excuse my rant, but I am no freaking troll :P

Calm down mate... They are not ripoff bastards. More fool you for getting the year and everything without realising you can't drive with mates!

As many have said here, both are great to play and drive in..... for different reasons!
