I seem to be having the same problem as art555.
My specs are:
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Service Pack 3
Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
XFX 8600GT @ 621/1336/453 (quite serious overclocking from 540 to 621, i have to admit it. )
Driver: 182.06
2 GB's of RAM @ 667Mhz.

Everything set to low, 800x600 (with a 22'' screen)
the FPS really differs, the best weather setting for playing it is a sunny day, and it's worse at night, when it's raining.

The fps never goes over 25, and it seems to be really laggy and unstable.

Unfortunatly, the newest patch isn't working at all for me, even with a freshly installed GTA IV.
This really annoys me as the recommended settings clearly said the 8600GT was good enough. Velociround is right.
I'll try downclocking to the normal Clocks, however i don't think it will make a difference.

Quote from Stiggie :I agree. Actually, i liked them better in that first preview, where they were just grey.
However, i don't know if Lynce is going for realism with these ones. I think not.

I'm taking this back, amazing job! The tyre threads look amazing ánd real now, from that point of view.

Actually, i'm with velociround on this. After all, that's what the ImprovementSuggestions section is for.
You should go there if you want to complain about ''graphical improvements''.
And if graphics really matter that much to you, LFS clearly isn't the right game/sim for you either.

The devs should really start handling this car modding thing.
It even seems this mod also has a new (ugly) interior.. this could get out of hand..

Nice video anyway.

What a shame.

Quote from Stiggie :That wasn't what i ment to ask.
I was going to change the PSU anyway, the one i've got included with the pc right now only has a capacity of 350W, which was only just enough for the 8600GT i've got now.'
I believe the 9800GTX+ requires around 550Watt's, so i was going to go for the new coolermaster silent pro (600W) anyway.

It was my question regarding if this would be the same story with a pre-built fujitsu siemens pc.
Would there be any compatibility problems with changing the PSU on a standard pc?

Could anyone please answer to this @ post 63, i really want to be sure of my case before i'm gonna go shopping.

Quote from Jakg :Even if your PSU was totally standard (I think it would be on a Fujitsu) it would still be the lowest cheapest one that could run all the kit it came with - I doubt that it would run an extra graphics card (although it might)

That wasn't what i ment to ask.

You'll need to check with your system specs as to what power the PSU is. New cards (the 9xxx series Nvidia, with the 8800GTX not far behind) need much more power than a 7100. I'm not sure on Acer, but I know that Dell and HP use odd PSUs that are a headwrecker to source and replace at times.

You might have seen me asking around on other topics, as i want to upgrade my pc when i've got the right amount of money. I hope you don't mind me polluting all of the topics.

First off, the PSU.. i currently have a standard PSU included in my Fujitsu Siemens.
I've read the posts from dougie lampkin, claiming that most of the pre-built computers have strange PSU's which can't be replaced in most of the cases.
Does anyone know if this is also the case with the Fujitsu Siemens PC's?
And if so, would the 600W Coolermaster Silent Pro be good enough for the below listed VideoCards?

I was thinking about upgrading to either the GeForce 9800GTX+ superclocked edition.
http://www.paradigit.nl/info.php?group=3&art=10019956 Which is €128,00.

Or the XFX GeForce 9800GTX+ http://www.paradigit.nl/info.php?group=3&art=10019370 Which is €139,95.

Now, because the first GPU is saying ''superclocked'' i suppose it would be better then the XFX Geforce 9800GTX+.. but it's cheaper.
(Excuses for the Dutch language, the first thing of the list is the memory clock, i think the rest of the list speaks for itself).
MSI MS-7379 (G31M)
Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
2 GB's of 667 Mhz RAM (Included with the pre-built pc)
XFX Geforce 8600GT

Which one would you prefer?
Thanks in advance.

Quote from PioneerLv :Those tyres looks damn impressive, but maybe even too much? It looks like the surface is polished like in auto shows. I think it needs a bit more wear reality and then they will be 100% amazing. It's my opinion.

My god, i fail. Excuse me, i ment a-data RAM.
I don't know where my mind was at that moment.

Thanks for the explanation anyway.
The problem however, is that my motherboard only allows up to 800Mhz of DDR2. > http://www.msicomputer.com/pro ... model=G31M-F&class=mb

In that case, i'm going to leave upgrading my ram for the future, and start saving up for a new GPU.

On the topic of Memory, i would like to ask a little question.

I was thinking about upgrading from 2GB to 4GB a-data RAM.

Now, my current ones were stock provided with the pc when i bought it. They are 667 Mhz, and the new a-data ones are 800 Mhz.
Would there be a noticable difference in performance/speed in games like GTA4 and such with this increase of speed?
And would 4 GB of ram be needed in my kind of system? (Depending on the load, mostly gaming.)
My pc only has 2 slots for the ram, so obviously it would just be 2x2GB of RAM.
So basically, would i have an advantages upgrading my ram with this system?

MSI MS-7379 v4.0 (G31M)
Q6600 @ Stock clock (2.40Ghz)
1x1=2GB of 667 Mhz ram, as said before

You used to mod car models yourself.. why are you even speaking in these kinds of topics?

And why did you add me to your friend list. I'm still wondering why i accepted it.

Why don't we just stop reacting to these kind of topics and ignoring those who do feel like moaning around.
Who knows, they might even shut the hell up.

HA-ha!!

Anyway, i've always found things like these stupid. It's the same like buying michael schumacher's seat used in his F1 car, what the hell are you going to do with it any way? Place it in your living room to sit on it in your own pride?
I know, it's a collector's item.. but still.
Crazy people in this world.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Thing is, some of these previews look really nice. However, some look very shiney and incredibly unrealistic. Perhaps they are better in motion but I can't see myself using these as of yet.

But they are still great, if you know what I mean.

It's been said for around 30 times already, but just edit the cfg.txt if you don't like it that shiny.
