would be much nicer if the decals weren't stretched like that

Looks to me you've used the lx4 kit and the blackmask is showing on the bonnet. Decals are badly stretched.

Quote from danowat :Hmm.....doesn't sound good, maybe I'll try and be gentle with it then

It's not like I was being rough with it. I think the problem is the potentiometers which track the stick's movement. Either they're not secured well enough or their resolution isn't good enough for such a short travel.

As for the G25 shifter hardware, I was actually quite pleased with how solidly it shifts, and with a nice metal shaft, I don't think it will fail too quickly

Mine failed after a couple of months and keeps jumping from one gear to another. Did use it until then in every race I did, (with the roadcars) and will start using it once I get a replacement.

Quote from Tweaker :Boomtown have pretty much tanked any kind of LFS affiliation afaik, but oh well, nice skin

Have they? There was some boomtown skins in S1. Don't know if the relations have changed since then..

Just noticed a funny coincidence when I was naming the screenshot.
I took the main "sponsor" FOR YOUR EYES ONLY from a speedboat when i started this skin a couple of weeks back. Today I made a fictional brand (which I thought could be a goldsmith or something) called "REYES". Funny enough those two fit together if you reorganise the letters a bit on the first sentence..

How about making your own stuff instead of using other people's work and claiming it your own?

They're scans, just not by you. Too low quality to be used as they are, but could be of some use if you plan on remaking them yourself.

Quote from beefyman666 :You could've made that in game, minus the door pillars.

I'm afraid you can't. Changing the roof to black would change the bonnet also while the wing would still be red.

You will always have to ask permission to edit someone elses work whether they're public skins or not.

Did you ask permission to edit the skin you found?

Quote from Tweaker :Is it just me, or are vector shape packs really popular to use on skins now? Not even your own work

Not for me they aren't. I suppose they're an easy way to make something rather complex looking with a bit less effort. I wouldn't call it designing though..

Quote from Bean0 :OT I know, but I was just wondering whether you stretch the template/work/then squish, or leave the template and squish the elements of the skin as you apply them ?

I've always done the latter.

I squish the elements of the skin as I apply them, since different areas of the car need different amounts of compensation.

That link above is still good to get started.
