Decided to work a bit on the UFR and make some details for it. I'll release the parts in a separate file later.

I have a tablet, but haven't used it at all in skinning (so far).
I just start with some basic shapes with the shape- or pentool and go from there.
Picking up the colours (and mainsponsor) early on is really important as that tends to set some basic rules towards the design.
The tools I've mentioned are the perfect way when you need to fiddle about with complex designs over and around the car. Moving, reshaping etc won't hurt the quality at all.
But then again I've made hundreds of skins and this is just a style I've developed to suit my work. Some other skinner may have developed his/her own style that is just as good for him/her.

Just make sure the skins are uploaded by their authors or with the permission of theirs.

I might have a go at this at some time. I've done the same livery for the XRR earlier

I believe it's just the choice of colours that makes it look rather pale.
Try giving a black (or maybe a dark blue) outline to the border where the blue meets the orange and maybe some of the logo's as well.

I know there wasn't any aluminium vents on the car that I replicated, but since I can't add lights there and the front was looking kind of empty I thought I'd try what I did.

You may need to experiment with the layer options on what looks best with the vents. (multiply, luminosity in photoshop probably)
