EDIT: Sorry for the bump, just saw the topic on the LFS Movie Awards thing...
TLDR but...
F*** me, that was extraordinary. One of the most original pieces of Machinima I've ever seen, how did you choreograph all that??
Loved the soundtrack too and LFS physics and scenery did a great job in replicating a movie car chase!
Absoloutely awesome, well done!
I thought the camerawork worked well by the way, it was very typical "car chase" camerawork and I didn't think there were too many impossible angles. Could maybe do with some more filters on the video, I don't know if it was colour corrected or vignetted but it looked quite "standard". And the car skins were very believeable, not sure about the 08 plate on the AE86 ripoff though!
Soooo, does anyone have a few minutes to fill in the .doc on the first post? Don't worry too much about the blah at the top, it's the questions that are important.
I quite like the idea of leaving them in there to see if the oh-so-serious academics will notice they're looking at something resembling a rubber sex toy...
So, for my final project at uni I've had to design some characters and environments for an arcade game which is based on flying the space shuttle.
I'd be really grateful if you guys could offer your opinions on it. All you have to do is look at the pictures, answer the questions on them in the attached .doc file and re-attach it/post your answers here. Simples!
A video mockup of the "attract" video can also be seen here if you're interested: http://vimeo.com/8817480
Aygo/C1 etc. Although, I'm 20 and it's still £700 a year for my Aygo (had a reversing scrape in the Puma so +1 claim....). No car is cheap to insure at 17 because 1: insurance companies are ****s and 2: 90% of 17 year olds WILL understeer that car into a ditch and write it off within a week. Which is because of 3: driver education standards over here are shit.
Also, the Aygos are still worth a fair bit so that pushes the insurance up. And I'm willing to bet the Aygo's insurance prices will go up as the car's price decreases as Johnny Chav and his mates will be able to buy one at 17 and write them off. Conclusion, there is no cheap insurance for young drivers ever.
About that interior... The shapes and design look great, but thats a LOT of electronic stuff in there. What happened to big, simple knobs and switches? I know this car is an American model for people who spend more time watching the TV on the dash than looking at the road, but it looks stupidly complicated and distracting.
And that massive front intake? It can't need THAT much cooling, surely.
Much more style than the last Focus, which was designed in Ford's Mk3 Mondeo/Mk6 Fiesta bland period. Don't like that stupid SUV style rear end though.
Wow, this topic snowballed! Some interesting points though...
I have a Fuji 5700 bridge camera as well More than photos, I want decent video from my phone. When it comes to still pics though, generally like Jack demonstrated, higher MP equals better images when scaled to desktop res.
Interesting comment from whoever said the WinMo office apps are a bit rubbish. The reason I was drawn to the Omnia II was that it had everything. Thing is, I'm not sure if I really need it. Day to day I won't do more than Youtube etc and a bit of writing on some kind of office app, so the N95 is looking really tempting especially as it has the camera quality I want. And the N95's screen is bigger than that on my Satnav (Garmin i3, ancient!) so naviagtion won't be a problem. Loving the Windows 3.1 too, wouldn't do it myself though!
In terms of buying, I'll either go PAYG or SIM-free. Budget is £350ish.
EDIT: The Nokia N97 Mini looks good too... Ticks the boxes.
