Any attempt to make an LFS car looks like another car always end up with an ugly result. You can't alter the 3D model with a skin, nor the headlights. Stupid request.
Asking for a skin inspired on a vauxhall btcc livery would be a better idea.
you can also buy ropes, clothing and many other things made with it. But that's not really a point in this case as the skin is referring to a bong (a water pipe or gloups if you prefer).
The LFS websites are hosted in the UK as far as I know, so only the UK laws are applicable in this case. I don't really know the uk laws but in most countries in europe, selling drugs is prohibited while taking drugs is still legal. Putting a drawing of a cannabis plant or talking about it is not illegal but covered by free speech so I think it's fine here. Maybe a UK citizen can confirm or correct me if needed...
I have made a Leyton House skin for the FOX, FO8 and FXR a long time ago. i think it was more based on the 1991 car but it wasn't much different. I also started a 1991 7up FO8 but never finished it.
I could finish the Leyton House set for all cars if anyone is interested, it shouldn't take too much time...
Unfortunately, Tweaker was right and there is a strange coloration on it if you compare the actual dds file and the result on screen. They look too greenish in LFS. :\
As long as it can be disabled from the client, I don't see any problem with that. A sort of automatic grid presentation with these informations added just before the replay would be great too
Photoshop is overkill if you don't use it at work. It's great for a professionnal but it cost way too much for amateur skins/screenshots/photos edition. May I suggest Gimp, which is free and fine enough for most use or Paint Shop Pro if you are willing to spend a few bucks for a user interface slightly more appealing to people struck in the MS Windows world.
I have used all three in the past and they are all great pieces of software.
It is as funny as those stupid freaks who think they see Jesus or god everywhere. Some of them seem to have a really clear representation of how they should look.
if these ugly - and barely ok performance wise - looking cars from the 80's are considered legendary, I don't know what you call a Jaguar E-Type or Talbot Lago Figoni&Falaschi
People using real names race often in a more respectfull manner. In our multisim leagues, we don't allow nicknames.
Imho, nicknames are fine on public servers but if I want to race with the very same people in a championship, I like to know their names, because it gives a sort of humanity to the champ.
BTW, when I was looking for a new job, my new employer did a google search and found me in my league. That's one of the reason why abandoning our privacy when racing online give us more responsibility and tends to give cleaner races. I bet if everybody called me a wrecker or a cheater, I would still be unemployed.
The main problem I imagine would be to watch the replay live (I mean with a slight delay).
If someone connect to the stream at midrace, LFS will read the mpr from the start and won't know where does the stream file start. Also, if the spectator do a fast forward by changing the speed, LFS will not detect the point where it can't go forward longer and will probably send an error (or crash) instead of waiting for the stream.
The whole car class was banned after two big tragedies which happened in 1986 :
-In the first stage of the Portugal Rally, Joaquim Santos lost his Ford RS 200 and killed 4 spectators and injured more than thirty of them. They were crowding after a big jump.
-in the Tour de Corse, the finnish legend Henri Toivonen (who was leading the championship and the rally) crashed into a ravine. He and his co-driver Sergio Cresto were killed. This happened exactly one year after Bettega's death.
The group B were simply considered to dangerous to drive.
As much as I like the Peugeot 205 T16, It didn't kicked the Lancia S4 ass. Toivonen was dominating the championship with the Lancia when he died.
I suppose it can happen accidently while trying to get informations about sex. I always hear about software filters to prevent childs to reach a porn or pedophile website accidently.
